  • In this paper, approximate means of estimating the flux and torque levels in an induction motor is discussed. There exists several method that is used directly by flux meter and flux sensing coils in the airgap. Most of these methods are sensitive to motor parameter value changes. Also, the harmonics in the motor voltage and current due to the nonsinusodial inverter waveform cause errors in the estimated torque. Finally, this result is applicated in arch type linear induction motor for study of noise and vibration.

  • This paper presents an implementation of digital motion control system of induction motor vector drives with a direct torque control(DTC) using the 16bit DSP TMS 320F240. The DSP controller enable enhanced real time algorithm and cost-effective design of intelligent controllers for induction motors which can be yield enhanced operation, fewer system components, lower system cost, increased efficiency and high performance. The system presented are stator flux observer of current model that inputs are current sensing of motor terminal and rotor angle, and optimal switching look-up table by using fully integrated control software. The developed system are shown a good motion control response characteristic results and high performance features using 2.2Kw general purposed induction motor.

  • In this paper we proposed a new sensorless drive system for the trapezoidal type brushless DC motor which does not use any mechanical position or speed sensor and applicable to the systems requiring a constant speed and torque such as Fan. For this a novel indirect rotor position sensing technique based on a detailed analysis of the terminal voltage characteristics is proposed in this paper. And a sensorless drive system for the brushless DC motor is implemented using a 87c196mc fo the main microprocessor and a power FET for the inverter. The experimental results will show the validity of the proposed indirect sensing method and the practical use of the sensorless drive

  • The system discussed in this paper is an integrated stand-alone system with the full functional capabilities required of a telerobot system. It is complete with a force-reflecting 6-DOF hand controller, driving a PUMA 560 or 762 robot, with an integrated force-torque sensing wrist sensor and servo-driven parallel jaw gripper. A mix of custom and standard electronics, distributed computers and microprocessors, with embedded and downloadable software, have been integrated into the system, giving rise to a powerful and flexible teleautonomous control system.

  • A review of mechanical sensing techniques based on magnetic methods is presented, with special reference to magnetoelastic strain gauges and force sensors. A novel strain sensor based on soft amorphous ribbons is described. Other types of magnetic sensors, for the measurement of torque and displacement are briefly discussed. An overview of magnetic actuators based on giant magnetostrictive materials, with some practical examples, is presented. Recent advances in the development and application of magnetic shape memory materials are discussed, together with the analysis of recent studies for the description of magnetic shape memory phenomena.

  • This study was carried out to obtain the information needed in the development of forward speed control system and the improvement of combine performance. The effects of variety, grain moisture content and forward speed on the combine load characteristics were investigated through experiments. The results of this study are summarized as follows. 1. A data acquisition system was developed to measure the engine speed and the torques and speeds of the threshing cylinder, dean-grain auger and tailings-return auger. The system consisted of transducers, signal conditioner, interface board and microcomputer. The system accuracy is better than ${\pm}2.3%$ full scale. 2. Linear regression equations were obtained for the torque, speed and power requirement of threshing cylinder for different paddy varieties, grain moisture contents and feed rates. 3. The maximum value of relative frequency for threshing cylinder torque decreased as the increase in feed rate and moisture content. The range of torque fluctuation was 1.2~3.7 and 1.2~1.9 times the average and maximum torque, respectively. The maximum value of power spectrum density (PSD) appeared to be about 11 Hz regardless of paddy variety, grain moisture content and feed rate. 4. The speed of tailings return thrower decreased rapidly at below 900rpm, and it fell to near zero about 3 seconds after that time. When the travelling of combine harvester was stopped immediately after sensing the overload, it took about 7 seconds for a full recovery of the no-load speed of tailings return thrower.

홀 이펙트 센서를 이용한 유성기어 감속기모터의 동력 모니터링 시스템 개발 (Development of the Power Monitoring System for the Planetary Geared Motor using Hall Effect Sensor)

  • 모터가 회전할 때 감속기에 연결되어 있는 구동부의 부하나 구동부의 상태변화에 따라 모터의 토크, 회전수 등이 함께 변한다. 역으로 모터의 토크, 회전수 등을 측정하면 부하의 변동이나 구동부의 상태를 감시 할 수 있다. 이를 위해 스트레인게이지와 브릿지회로를 이용한 토크측정방법이 가장 일반적인데 이것은 접촉식 방법이어서 회전 속도와 사용시간에 따른 수명을 가진다. 그래서 이 방법을 이용한 시스템은 부품의 일부 또는 전체를 교체하는 유지보수론 필요로 하게 된다. 그리고 이러한 장비는 크기가 크고 고가이며 계측기를 연결하고 측정하는 과정이 매우 번거롭다. 본 논문에서 우리는 홀 이펙터 센서를 이용하여 토크와 회전수를 측정하는 비 접촉식 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 홀 센서를 유성기어에 부착하고 이를 이용한 기어드 모터와 모니터링 시스템을 제작하였다. 모니터링 시스템은 측정 데이터(토크, 회전수)와 연산되어진 데이터(전달 동력)를 화면표시하며 블루투스 통신 프로토콜을 이용한 네트워킹 기능을 가진다. 제안된 방법은 기존방법에 비해 매우 저렴한 방법이고 토크와 회전수를 측정하는 매우 간단한 방법이다.

  • This paper presents an implementation of digital control system of speed sensorless for Reluctance Synchronous Motor (RSM) drives with DTC. The control system consists of stator flux observer, rotor position/speed/torque estimator, two hysteresis band controllers, an optimal switching look-up table, IGBT voltage source inverter, and TMS320C31 DSP controller by using fully integrated control software. The stator flux observer is based on the combined voltage and current model with stator flux feedback adaptive control that inputs are current and voltage sensing of motor terminal with estimated rotor angle for wide speed range. The rotor position is estimated by observed stator flux-linkage space vector. The estimated rotor speed is determined by differentiation of the rotor position used only in the current model part of the flux observer for a low speed operating area. It does not require the knowledge of any motor parameters, nor particular care for motor starting, In order to prove the suggested control algorithm, we have a simulation and testing at actual experimental system. The developed sensorless control system is shown a good speed control response characteristic results and high performance features in 50/1000 rpm with 1.0Kw RSM having 2.57 ratio of d/q reluctance.

  • This paper presents a feasible development on a highly accurate quick response adjustable speed drive implementation fur general purpose induction motor which operates on the basis of sensorless slip frequency type vector controlled sine-wave PWM inverter with an automatic tuning machine parameter estimation schemes. In the first place, the sensorless vector control theory on the three-phase voltage source-fed inverter induction motor drive system is developed in slip frequency based vector control principle. In particular, the essential procedure and considerations to measure and estimate the exact stator and rotor circuit parameters of general purpose induction motor are discussed under its operating conditions. The speed regulation characteristics of induction motor operated by the three-phase voltage-fed type current controlled PWM inverter using IGBT's is illustrated and evaluated fur machine parameter variations under the actual conditions of low frequency and high frequency operations for the load torque. In the second place, the variable speed induction motor drive system, employing sensorless vector control scheme which is based on three -phase high frequency carrier PWM inverter with automatic toning estimation schemes of the temperature -dependent and -independent machine circuit parameters, is practically implemented using DSP-based controller. Finally, the dynamic speed response performances for largely changed load torque disturbances as well as steady state speed vs. torque characteristics of this induction motor control implementation are illustrated and discussed from an experimental point of view.

Motion Teaching Method for Complex Robot Links Using Motor Current Sensing

  • Robots today have wider application fields than they ever have before. They need to work close to humans and fluid and compliable motions are expected of them. This requires redundant degrees of freedom for completing specific task. And conventional motion teaching method cannot be applied to redundant link structures. In this paper, the authors present a proficient, cost-effective and intuitive method for motion teaching. New software to apply this method to a humanoid is also presented. This new method utilizes current sensors to determine which joints to rotate. The experiment shown in this paper is a case of closed link where arms cannot move independently due to the restrictions in between the hands. After the input of several passing points of motion trajectory, the curve fitting is performed by the developed software. This software can insert new points, delete erroneous points and modify existing points. The developed motion teaching method is applied to the Kumdo robot, which is developed by the authors.
