수동변속기 헬리컬 기어치의 접촉력 평가를 통한 변형간섭 해석 (Tooth Load Sharing and Deformation Overlap of Helical Gear Pairs for the Manual Transmission of Automobile)

  • The load sharing and teeth deflection of helical gear system are analyzed to investigate the deformation overlap. The deformation overlap, which is calculated by the results of displacement analysis, is suggested as the basis for the tooth profile modification. Helical gear systems are formulated as contact problems, and solved by elastic contact theory and FEM. The developed computer program, which offers gear teeth deflection and deformation overlap, will be of much help to the improved design of manual transmissions for automobiles.

  • This report presents a case of adolescent patient who had multiple impacted teeth and no systemic disease, and was treated with removable and fixed orthodontic appliances. The results obtained through these cases were summarized as follows : 1. Even in the case without systemic disease, there can be the delayed eruption of multiple teeth 2. If the root formation is not completed, root have no excessive curvature, axial inclination of the tooth is not excessive, and there is eruption space, the tooth can be induced to normal occlusion. 3. Since esthetically proper occlusion and dentition was acquired by recovery of the impacted teeth to normal occlusion, the prosthodontic treatment after extraction of the impacted teeth was less needed. 4. This treatment brought psychological stability to pubertal patient who was interested in his facial profile.

제로터 유압 모터의 설계 변수에 관한 연구 (On the Design Parameters of Gerotor Hydraulic Motors)

  • A Gerotor hydraulic motor is a planar mechanism consisting of a pair of rotors one of which encloses another rotor. The motion of the inner-rotor relative to the outer-rotor is produced by the pressure difference between the adjacent chambers. A design method of inner-rotor tooth profile using unit tangential vectors is presented in this work. Based on the relationships derived, the influence of the eccentricity of inner-rotor and the radius of circular arc tooth on the flow rate, torque and curvatures were investigated. It was shown that the flow rate and mean torque is proportional to eccentricity, but inversely proportional to the radius of circular arc teeth. Also, the maximum value of the equivalent curvature is increased as the eccentricity and the radius of circular arc teeth increased.

트랙터 트랜스미션용 후진 아이들 기어의 3D 프린팅 특성 (3D Printing Characteristics of Reverse Idle Gears for Tractor Transmissions)

  • This paper concerns the possibility of 3D printing reverse idle gears for tractor transmission. For the purposes of this experiment, idle gears were manufactured using a SLA 3D printer, FDM 3D printer, and through machining. The accuracy of the idle gears produced in these three different ways were evaluated by the properties of their outer diameter, inner diameter, roundness, concentricity, parallelism, span, backlash, and gear grade. The tooth characteristics of the idle gears were evaluated by their profile, lead, and the pitch of the gears. The results of this experiment determined that the surface conditions created by the finishing process had a significant impact on the dimensional accuracy of the gears and the characteristics of their teeth.

  • This paper summarizes the results of a numerical study conducted to analyze the determination of optimum blank diameter on material flow and thread profile for Spindle Screw in external thread rolling. Initial blank diameter affect a quality of Spindle Screw in thread rolling process. Therefore, it is very important to determine the optimum blank diameter in thread rolling process. In order to determine the optimum blank diameter, this paper suggest the calculating method of initial blank diameter considering real shape of tooth. The finite element code DEFORM is applied to analyze the metal flow of tooth. then the analytical results are verified by experiment of thread rolling for Spindle Screw.

냉간단조 스퍼어기어의 치수정밀도 (Dimensional Accuracies of Cold-Forged Spur Gears)

  • Recently it is attempted to manufacture gears by various cold forging methods to meet requirements of mass production and uniform qualities. Compared to machined gears cold forged ears reveal higher tooth strength and better surface roughness but they reveal lower geometrical accuracies. Therefore in the present study a series of experiments are performed to investigate relations between geometrical accuracies of dies and billet and those of the final product. The geometrical accuracies of forged gears are considered through functional gear-element tolerances by measuring pitch error profile error lead error radial error tooth thickness and rolling test. Results of the experiments can be summarized as follows: (1) involute spur gears of KS 5(or AGMA7) accuracies can be made,(2) concentricity of die set should be maintained within 0.01mm (3) clearance between the billet and die set should be less than 0.1mm (4) con-centricity and radial runout should be less than 0.08mm and 0.1mm respectively. However it is thought that FEM analysis of elastic/thermal deformations of dies and the billet is necessary for a better understanding of the findings obtained through the present study.

기어 정밀정형 성형을 위한 후 공정으로서의 냉간 아이어닝 공정에 대한 연구 (Experimental and Numerical Study of Cold Ironing as a Post-Process of Net-Shape Manufacture of Gears)

  • Cold ironing, as a post-forging operation of warm forged gears, needs a clear understanding of form errors due to die-elasticity and springback of component. In order to simplify the analysis of cold ironing, a single tooth instead of a whole gear component was investigated. The influence of initial surface roughness, die design, and die/workpiece interference has been examined experimentally and numerically. As a result the changes in geometrical profile, dimensions, and surface finish in a single tooth were observed. This study demonstrates that predicted dimensions can be achieved and surface finish also can be greatly improved.

  • Mesiobuccal or distobuccal canals of maxillary molars and mesiobuccal or mesiolingual canals of mandibular malars were selected. Forty specimens were divided into four groups according to the instruments used : stainless steel K-files($MANI^{\circledR}$, Matsutani Seisakusho Co. Takanezawa, Japan), nickel-titanium K-files (Naviflex $NT^{TM}$, Brassler, Savannah, U.S.A.), $Profile^{\circledR}$, and $ProTaper^{TM}$ (Dentsply-Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland). Occlusal surface of each tooth and root apex were flattened by using diamond burs and sandpaper. Before instrumentation, a rubber stop was fixed with glue to the #10 K-files of initial working length in each tooth.(omitted)

OHIP-14를 이용한 보철물 장착자의 구강건강평가에 대한 연구 (Evaluation of oral health with equipped prosthesis using OHIP-14)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the quality of life of clients who treated and equipped prosthesis in Eulji University Hospital in Dae-Jun City. The results of this study were as follows. The oral status of Female had more carious tooth than male had. Carious tooth(p<0.05) and losed tooth(p<0.001) was more popular in older female. The frequency of treated tooth was higher under 59 years old female than over 60 years old(p<0.01). In education category, carious tooth(p<0.05) and losed tooth(p<0.000) was more popular in low education than high education In the score of relation of OHIP-14 category and general characteristic, female was significantly higher than male in dysfunction( p<0.05), physical disorder(p<0.001) and activity disorder(p<0.05). The score was significantly higher in older than younger in dysfunction(p<0.05), physical disorder(p<0.001) and activity disorder(p<0.001). The score of education was significantly higher in low education group than high education group in physical pain (p<0.001), mental discomfort (p<0.001). The score of marriage status was significantly higher in marriaged group than other group in dysfunction (p<0.05) and mental discomfort (p<0.05). In the score of relation of OHIP-14 category and oral status, the score of carious tooth group was significantly higher in dysfunction(p<0.05), physical disorder(p<0.05) and activity disorder(p<0.05). The score of losed tooth group was significantly higher in dysfunction(p<0.05), physical pain (p<0.05), mental discomfort(p<0.05), physical disorder(p<0.05) and activity disorder(p<0.01). The score of non treated tooth group was significantly higher in dysfunction(p<0.05), mental discomfort(p<0.05), social disorder(p<0.05) and activity disorder(p<0.05). In the score of relation of OHIP-14 category and the sort of prosthesis, the score of being bridge group was significantly higher than being crown group in activity disorder(p<0.05). The OHIP-14 category and the number of prosthesis was not significant relationship. These results suggest that the information and services of the process of dental prosthesis based on subjective evaluation should be provided to clients rather than based on clinical evaluation. The continued system of oral management should be developed and provided.

Cone-beam computed tomographic analysis of the alveolar ridge profile and virtual implant placement for the anterior maxilla

  • Purpose: To analyze the ridge profile of the anterior maxilla using cone-beam computed tomography and to assess the clinical significance of the ridge profile by performing virtual implant placement. Methods: Thirty-two cone-beam computed tomography scans of anterior maxillae were included. For each tooth, a vertical line was made along the longitudinal axis, and 3 horizontal lines at 1-, 3-, and 5-mm levels below the labial bone crest were drawn perpendicularly to the vertical reference. At these levels, the thickness of the alveolar ridge (RT), and the labial (LT) and palatal bone plate (PT) were measured. Then, virtual implant placement using standard and tapered implants was performed. A generalized linear mixed model was used for statistical analysis. Results: The teeth were located labially based on the proportion of LT and PT with respect to RT. At the 1-mm level, the value of LT was between $1.0{\pm}0.4mm$ for central incisors and $1.3{\pm}0.6mm$ for canines. A large number of teeth had area(s) with less than 1-mm-thick labial bone between the 1- and 5-mm levels below the crest. The mean PT was generally thicker than the LT in all tooth types. The greatest mean value of labial concavity was observed for canines, compared to other tooth types. Men had a greater RT than did women, but had a comparable LT. Less apical fenestration was observed when tapered implants were used. Conclusions: Most teeth in the anterior maxilla had a thin labial bone plate, with no significant difference between sexes. Tapered implants may be advantageous for the anterior maxilla.
