Accuracy of a machined component is determined by the relative motion between the cutting tool and the workpiece. One of the important factors which affects the accuracy of this relative motion is the geometric error of machine tools. In this study, geometric error is modeled using form shaping motion of machine tool, where a form shaping function is derived from the homogeneous transformation matrix. Geometric errors are measured by laser interferometer. After that, the local positioning error can be estimated from the form shaping model and geometric error data base. From this information, we can remodel the part by shifting the design surface to the amount of positional error. By generating tool path to the redesigned surface, we can reduce the machining error.
This paper describes a development of a fiber optic common-path optical coherence tomography (OCT) based imaging and guided system that possess ability to reliably identify optically transparent targets that are on the micron scale; ability to maintain a precise and safe position from the target; ability to provide spectroscopic imaging; ability to imaging biological target in 3-D. The system is based on a high resolution fiber optic Common-Path OCT (CP-OCT) that can be integrated into various mini-probes and tools. The system is capable of obtaining >70K A-scan per second with a resolution better than $3\;{\mu}m$. We have demonstrated that the system is capable of one-dimensional real-time depth tracking, tool motion limiting and motion compensation, oxygen-saturation level imaging, and high resolution 3-D images for various biomedical applications.

The objective of this study is to estimate and to compensate far the volumetric error of a workpiece influenced by the geometric error of a machine tool. In this paper, the volumetric error is defined and the error synthesis model is presented. Then, the volumetric error of workpiece is calculated and compared through the simulation, and a new tool-path is generated to compensate for the error in the post-processor of CAM system using the error synthesis model. By this method, the error is compensated without modification or replacement of a machine tool being in use.
This paper presents a complete S-shape feed rate scheduling approach (CSFA) with confined jerk, acceleration and command feed rate for parametric tool path. For a Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline (NURBS) tool path, the critical points of the tool path where the radius of curvature reaches extreme values are found firstly. Then, the NURBS curve is split into several NURBS sub-curves or blocks by the critical points. A bidirectional scanning strategy with the limitations of chord error, normal/tangential acceleration/jerk and command feed rate is employed to make the feed rate at the junctions between different NURBS blocks continuous. To improve the efficiency of the feed rate scheduling, the NURBS block is classified into three types: short block, medium block and long block. The feed rate profile corresponding to each NURBS block is generated according to the start/end feed rates and the arc length of the block and the limitations of tangential acceleration/jerk. In addition, two compensation strategies are proposed to make the feed rate more continuous and the arc increment more precise. Once the feed rate profile is determined, a second-order Taylor's expansion interpolation method is applied to generate the position commands. Finally, experiments with two free-form NURBS curves are conducted to verify the applicability and accuracy of the proposed method.

In elliptical vibration cutting (EVC), cutting performance is largely affected by the shape of an elliptical path of the cutting tool. In this study, two parallel piezoelectric actuators were used to make an elliptical vibration cutting device. When harmonic voltages of $90^{\circ}$ out-of-phase are supplied to the EVC device, creation of an ideal elliptical trajectory whose major and minor axes are parallel to the cutting and thrust directions is anticipated from a kinematic analysis of the EVC device, however, the paths we experimentally observed showed significant distortions in its shape ranging from skew to excessive elongation of the major axis of the ellipse. To compensate distortions, an analytical model describing the elliptical path of the cutting tool was developed and verified with experimental results, and based on the analytical model, the distorted elliptical paths created at 100 Hz, 1 kHz, and 16 kHz were corrected for skew and elongation.

This study proposes a method to reduce error scanning data of laser scanner. The method co of 3 stages. First, there is an error indu difference of the distance between the prob the object. It is possible to reduce the e planning a scanning strategy: object settin path. Second, the scan data loss of the tooli affects calculating the tooling ball con z-direction compensation is given to calculat accurate registration points. Third, three p used to determine a transformation matrix on frame. As merging, the maximum error usually on the third tooling ball in the conven method, which select a point among three po randomly. We find the centroid of 3 points apply it to determine a new transformation mat

NC machines are generally used for machining operations because of their position accuracy, path accuracy, and machining reaction force. However, some NC machines require a very large space and are expensive. Recently, industrial articulated robot arms with large handling capability and wrist torque have been developed and the corresponding sensor technology has been improved. A machining robot for three-dimensional large curved objects was developed on the basis of an automatic-path-generation method. A self-position-compensation method with a laser displacement sensor was adopted for the six-axis robot developed, because the large articulated robot arms had poor position accuracy. An automatic-path-generation method using specific points was adopted to reduce the number of teaching points and time. In order to determine the proper machining conditions, various machining conditions such as tool rotation speed, cutting angle, cutting depth, and tool moving speed, were evaluated.

In this paper, we studied the micro tool deflection, micro cutting with low temperature, and deformation of micro ribs caused by cutting forces. First, we performed an integrated machining error compensation method based on captured images of tool deflection shapes in micro cutting process. In micro cutting process, micro tool deflection generates very serious problems in contrast to macro tool deflection. To get the real images of micro tool deflection, it is possible to estimate tool deflection in cutting conditions modeled and to compensate for machining errors using an iterative algorithm correcting tool path. Second, in macro cutting fields, the cryogenic cutting process has been applied to cut the refractory metal but, the serious problem may be generated in micro cutting fields by the cryogenic environment. However, if the proper low temperature is applied to micro cutting area, the cooling effect of cutting heat is expected. Such effect can make the reduction of tool wear and burr formation. For verifying this passibility, the micro cutting experiment at low temperature was performed and SEM images were analyzed. Third, the micro pattern was deformed by the cutting forces and the shape error occurred in the sidewall multi-step cutting process were minimized. As the results, the relationship between the cutting conditions and the deformation of micro-structure during micro cutting process was investigated.

In the surface measurement system using touch probe, probe radius compensation is a key factor for accuracy. In this paper we investigate methods for compensating probe radius so that the surface equation for an "unknown surface" can be efficiently derived. The developed algorithm derives the surface equation by the iterative procedure of estimation, verification, and modification . Since the procedure is applied only for the surface region exceeding the tolerance limit, an accurate surface equation can be obtained with less computation and measurement point. The validity and effectiveness of the algorithm was tested by numerical simulations. The results convinced us that the develop algorithm can be used for surface measurement and tool path planning for NC machining.
Purpose: The purpose of this research is to enhance organizational competitiveness of health centers as well as private medical institutions serving as public health and medical institutions. It tries to help them to cope with the requirements from health consumers, to enhance public health nurses' job performance, Methods: After verifying the reliability of the tool, confirmatory factor analysis was used to detect a model, in which valid path coefficients exist among variables. The detected model was then selected as the subject and its validity was verified. Finally, a structural equation model was applied to verify whether the estimate was suitable for the purpose of this research. Results: As for the nursing organizational culture, the public health nurses considered relation-oriented culture the most desirable. As for the self-leadership, they considered self-compensation the most desirable. It was found that mediating effects of self-leadership was partially significant. Conclusion: To enhance job performance, it is necessary to make a transition from the organizational culture to the relation-oriented culture and it is also necessary to develop a program capable of reinforcing self-leadership. In addition, it is necessary to conduct a research to verify whether such a developed self-leadership program is influential on job performance enhancement.
