This paper is to propose tolerance intervals for expected time at the given reliability and confidence level for continuous and discrete reliability model. We consider guaranteed - coverage tolerance intervals, that is, reliability - confidence level tolerance intervals. These proposed methodologies can be applied to any industrial application where the customer's operating specification require a high level of reliability.

ANOVA is widely used for measurement system analysis. It assumes that the measurement error is normally distributed, which may not be seen in certain industrial cases. In this study, the exact and bootstrap confidence intervals for precision-to-tolerance ratio (PTR) are obtained for the cases where the measurement errors are normally and non-normally distributed and the reproducibility variation can be ignored. Lognormal and gamma distributions are considered for non-normal measurement errors. It is assumed that the quality characteristics have the same distributions of the measurement errors. Three different bootstrap methods of SB (Standard Bootstrap), PB (Percentile Bootstrap), and BCPB (Biased-Corrected Percentile Bootstrap) are used to obtain bootstrap confidence intervals for PTR. Based on a coverage proportion of PTR, a comparative study of exact and bootstrap methods is performed. Simulation results show that, for non-normal measurement error cases, the bootstrap methods of SB and BCPB are superior to the exact one.
The analgesic effect of morphine was antagonized and the development of tolerance was suppressed by the modification of the neurologic function in the animals treated with ginseng saponins. The activation of the spinal descending inhibitory systems as well as the supraspinal structures by the administration of morphine was inhibited in the animals treated with ginseng saponins intracerebrally or intrathecally The development of morphine tolerance and dependence, and the abrupt expression of naloxone induced abstinence syndrome were also inhibited by ginsenoside Kbl , Rba, Rgl and Re. These results suggest that ginsenoside Kbl, Rba, Rgl and Re are the bioactive components of panax ginseng on the inhibition of the development of morphine tolerance and dependence, and the inhibition of abrupt abstinence syndrome. In addition, further research on the minor components of Panax ginseng should be investigated. A single or daily treatment with ginseng saponins did not induce any appreciable changes in the brain level of monoamines at the various time intervals and at the various day intervals, respectively The inhibitory or facilitated effects of ginseng saponins on electrically evoked contractions in guinea pig ileum (U-receptor) and mouse was definers (5·receptor) were not mediated through opioid receptors. The antagonism of a x receptor agonist, U-, iO.488H was also not mediated through opioid receptors in the animals treated with ginseng saponins, bolt mediated through serotonergic mechanisms. Ginseng saponins inhibited morphine S-dehydrogenase that catalyzed the production of morphine from morphine, and increased hepatic glutathione contents for the detoxification of morphine. This result suggests that the dual action of the above plays an important role in the inhibition of the development of morphine tolerance and dependence.

Every products, which made by mass production, is not identical in their size but have variations in some intervals specified by tolerance dimensions. Tolerances play major role in standardization of part and its quality, and also make a huge impact on manufacturing cost. The optimal condition for tolerances is giving the values as loose as possible for low production cost while satisfying quality specification, which usually demand tight control of tolerances. Tolerance analysis is necessary to get an optimal solution for this conflict situation. This paper have studied tolerance analysis for universal joint assembly of vehicle steering system and tried to find useful results of the study for product design and quality control.
The analgesic effect of morphine was antagonized and the development of tolerance was suppressed by the modification of the neurologic function in the animals treated with ginseng saponins The activation of the spinal descending inhibitory systems as well as the supraspinal structures by the administration of morphine was inhibited in the animals treated with ginseng saponine intracerebrally or intrathecally. The development of morphine tolerance and dependence, and the abrupt expression of naloxone inducted abstinence syndrom were also inhibited by ginsenoside Rb1, Rb2, Rg1 and Re. These results suggest that ginsenoside Rbl, Hbs, Rgl and Re are the bioactive components of panax ginseng on the inhibition of the development of morphine tolerance and dependence, and the inhibition of abrupt abstinence sindrome. In addition, further research on the minor components of Pnnnxkinsenl should be investigated. A single or daily treatment with ginseng saponins did not induce any appreciable changes in the brain in level of monoamines at the variolls time intervals and at the various day intervals, respectively. The inhibitory or facilitated effects of ginseng saponins on electrically evoked contractions in guinea pig ileum ($\mu$-receptor) and mouse vats deferens ($\delta$-receptor) were not mediated through opioid receptors. The antagonism of a $\chi$ receptor agonist, U-50, 488H was also not mediated through opioid receptors in the animals treated with ginseng saponins, but mediated through serotonergic mechanisms. Ginseng saponins inhibited morphine 6-dehydrogenase which catalyzed the production of morphinone from morphine, and increased hepatic glutathione contents for the detoxication of morphinone. This result suggests that the dual action of the above plays an important role in the inhibition of the development of morphine tolerance and dependence.
The administraction of ginseng butanol fraction(GBF) inhibited the development of tolerance to and physical dependence on morphine induced by morphine multiple injections in mice. Each group of mice was injected with morphine hydrochloride (40mg/kg s.c.) three times at 8 hr intervals for a period of 6 days. GBF (25, 50, 100, 200mg/kg) was injected (i.p.) to mice 1hr prior to the third morphine injection daily. Inhibition of morphine tolerance by GBF was evidenced by the increase in analgesic response to morphine hydrochloride (10mg/kg) as estimated by the tail flick method and the reduction in morphine dependence was estimated by the decreased number of the naloxone induced withdrawal jumping mice. Further evidenced that GBF reduced the development of morphine dependence was indicated by the fact that GBF decreased the loss in body weight.
In the last decade, the best estimate plus uncertainty methodologies in nuclear technology and nuclear power plant design have become a trending topic in the nuclear field. Since BEPU was allowed for licensing purposes by the most important regulator bodies, different uncertainty assessment methods have become popular, overall non-parametric methods. While non-parametric tolerance regions can be well stated and used in uncertainty quantification for licensing purposes, the propagation of the uncertainty through different codes (multi-scale, multiphysics) in cascade needs a better depiction of uncertainty than the one provided by the tolerance regions or a probability distribution. An alternative method based on the parametric or distributional probability boxes is used to perform uncertainty quantification and propagation regarding statistic uncertainty from one code to another. This method is sample-size independent and allows well-defined tolerance intervals for uncertainty quantification, manageable for uncertainty propagation. This work characterizes the distributional p-boxes behavior on uncertainty quantification and uncertainty propagation through nested random sampling.
Protopanaxadiol (PD) fraction and protopanaxatriol (PT) fraction were separated from thebutanol fraction of panax ginseng roots. Each group of mice was injected with morphine hydrochloride (40 mg/kg s.c.) three times at 8 hr intervals for a period of 6 days. PD fraction and PT fraction were injected (25, 100 mg/kg i.p.) to mice 1 hr prior to the third morphine injection daily. Inhibition of morphine tolerance was evidenced by the increase in analgesic response to morphine hydrochloride (10mg/ kg i.p.) as estimated by the tail flick method. Inhibition of morphine tolerance by PT fraction was effective but there was no remarkable difference in inhibition of tolerance development between control group andPD fraction group.

It is not practically feasible to apply hardware-based fault-tolerant schemes, such as hardware replication, in mobile devices. Therefore, software-based fault-tolerance techniques, such as checkpoint and rollback schemes, are required. In checkpoint and rollback schemes, the optimal checkpoint interval should be applied to obtain the best performance. Most previous studies focused on minimizing the expected execution time or response time for completing a given task. Currently, most mobile applications run in real-time environments. Therefore, it is extremely essential for mobile devices to employ optimal checkpoint intervals as determined by the real-time constraints of tasks. In this study, we tackle the problem of determining the optimal inter-checkpoint interval of checkpoint and rollback schemes to maximize the deadline meet ratio in real-time systems and to build a probabilistic cost model. From this cost model, we can numerically find the optimal checkpoint interval using mathematical tools. The performance of the proposed solution is evaluated using analytical estimates.
On this study, technical aspects were reviewed to drill a series of micro holes (${\phi}$0.10) over 200 within a few micron tolerance in diameter and position on the stainless steel material. Dedicated tools & jigs were designed and manufactured and optimum cutting conditions were found. On this micro hole drilling process, guide drill and step feeding were applied to help chip discharge, prevent drill breakage and finally improve the accuracy of positioning and roundness. The processing results indicated that most holes are distributed within a few micron tolerance in diameter and position intervals.
