The Baermann funnel method requires approximately four Kimwipe tissues for research a nematode count under a stereo microscope. To select more efficient and economical nematode extraction paper for nematode extraction, 15 different kinds of tissue papers were tested and compared with Kimwipe tissues. Nematode species used in the extraction efficiency tests include juvenile (J2) of Heterodera sp., J2 of Meloidogyne sp., Pratylenchus sp., Rhabditis sp., Acrobeloides sp., Panagrolaimus sp., Poikilolaimus sp. and Diplogasterida. The extraction efficiency varied between 42.0 to 88.8%. Considering costs, extraction efficacy, and clarity, the Pulling Kitchen Towel (Monalisa Co., Korea) is the best tissue, with clarity A, isolation efficiency of 69.4% (not significantly different compared to Kimwipe 1 ply 88.8%), and 1/2 costs per isolation of Kimwipe 2 ply.

Three types of sludges including printing paper, newsprint and tissue paper were prepared at 5% concentration for filtration-expression operations. Filtration-expression characteristics of sludge were measured in different pressure and wastepaper powder dosage. Specific filtration resistance and porosity were calculated with theoretical formula. Higher pressure increased the progresses of filtration and expression while it decreased porosity. The addition of 5% wastepaper powder more accelerated the progresses of filtration and expression than that of 10% wastepaper powder. The lowest porosity value was also measured at 5% dosage of wastepaper powder. The decrease of porosity implied the decrease of moisture content in cake. The results indicated that dewatering of sludge was efficient in high pressure and 5% dosage of wastepaper powder.
Actually, about 45% of total costs for wastewater treatment in a papermaking mill is spent for sludge disposal and the cost of chemicals used to improve the dewaterability of sludge takes much part of it. In order to reduce sludge disposal cost and to improve the efficiency of sludge treatment, it is necessary to minimize the amount of water contained within the sludge and hence to improve the dewaterability of the sludge. The objective of this study was to elucidate the way of improving the dewaterability of sludge. Three types of wastewater from a tissue paper mill, a printing paper mill and a newsprint mill were used and two types of high molecular weight flocculants (anionic PAM and cationic PAM) were used to treat the wastewater. Dewaterability of sludge was evaluated by measuring floc strength.

In advanced stages of periodontal disease, a lot of the periodontal tissue support are usually lost. The tissue destruction around some teeth is progressed to a level which requires either spontaneous exfoliation or extraction of several teeth due to their excessive mobility. In such cases, a comprehensive treatment plan encompassing the adequate periodontal and maintenance therapy, as well as perio-prosthetic treatment involving occlusal equilibration, is needed in order to restore health, function, and esthetics. Cross-arch fixed partial dentures(CAFPDs), one of the perio-prosthetic treatments, are used to stabilize the teeth with severely reduced periodontal tissue support. Unfortunately, however, a little is known about the occlusal scheme and biomechanical concept of CAFPDs. This paper will demonstrate summaries of the trauma from occlusion(TFO), Ante's law revisited, the treatment principles, the role of occlusion, and the long-term consequences for CAFPDs, and the possibility of CAFPDs through a case presentation.
Conventional MRI methods using T1-, T2-, diffusion-, perfusion-weighting, and functional imaging rely on characterizing the physical and functional properties of the tissue. In this review, we introduce an imaging modality based on measured the mechanical properties of soft tissue, namely magnetic resonance elastography (MRE). The use of palpation to identify the stiffness of tissue remains a fundamental diagnostic tool. MRE can quantify the stiffness of the tissue thereby providing a objective means to measure the mechanical properties. To accomplish a successful clinical setting using MRE, hardware and software techniques in the area of transducer, pulse sequence, and imaging processing algorithm need to be developed. Transducer, a mechanical vibrator, is the core of MRE application to make wave propagate invivo. For this reason, considerations of the frame of human body, pressure and friction of the interface, and high magnetic field of a MRI system needs to be taken into account when designing a transducer. Given that the wave propagates through human body effectively, developing an appropriate pulse sequence is another important issue in obtaining an optimal image. In this review paper, we introduce the technical aspects needed for MRE experiments and introduce several applications of this new field.
This study is fulfilled from September 1st to December 31st in 1999 and the object of investigation are all 289 students belong to 5 universities managing amateur Ssirum team in Kyungnam, Kyungpook. Pusan and Seoul(158 people) and 6 high schools(131 people). And these results were derived from percentage and cross analysis of Person Chi-square test ann interview and 47 questioned paper based on this purpose of study. 1. There were no significant differences between high school students and university students in the comprehension of physical therapy and injury occurrence by technique. 2. According to the relation between satisfaction of life as a player and injured part, the injury of soft tissue ranked high among satisfied and unsatisfied people. and the satisfaction or unsatisfaction of practicing place also derived same result. 3. $46.8\%$ of Ssirum players got the injury of soft tissue during practice. the articular injury and bone injury in regular sequence. But there were no relations between the time of injury and the sort of injury. 4. There were no statistical differences ortho sort of injury by technique.(p=0.399). 5. According to the part of injury by using techniques, the injury of soft tissue ranked high$(50.0\%)$, articular injury ranked high$(42.6\%)$ in the leg technique, bone injury ranked high in the leg technique, and nerve injury ranked high in hand technique. 6. The injury of soft tissue ranked high during the practice$(46.8\%)$, practice on the purpose of a match$(50.0\%)$ and match$(41.7\%)$ but there were no relations between the time of injury and son of injury. 7. The part of injury by technique ranked high in the soft tissue$(50.0\%)$, articular injury by leg technique$(42.6\%)$, bone injury in leg and waist technique and nerve injury in hand technique high. 8. The time of injury ranked high during the practice$(65.7\%)$, and $66.1\%$ of injury occurred in the afternoon. 9. During the practice, the cold weather ie related on the rate of injury because $67\%$ of injury occurred in winter, but there are no statistical significance. 10. There were no relations between the satisfaction of place far practice and time of injury. 11. The particular part of injury occurred very much during the match between defense and offense. 12. In the relation between the degree of understanding of physical therapy and the experience of physical therapy, the people who know physical therapy had much experiences of physical therapy(p=.000) And independent of the physical therapy experiences, the effectiveness of physical therapy therapy to players was $48.8\%$, no idea was 42.65 and no effectiveness was $8.7\%$(p=.000). 13. $59.6\%$ of the people admitting the physical therapy effectiveness answered they would follow the order of the doctor and $56.6\%$ of the people not admitting the physical therapy effectiveness answered no.
Purpose: Aplasia Cutis Congenita (ACC) is a rare disease characterized by the focal defect of the skin at birth, frequently involving scalp, but it may affect any region of the body. There are no etiology known but some conditions such as intrauterine vascular ischemia, amniotic adherences and viral infections are associated. The ideal treatment for the ACC is not known. Superficial and relatively small sized defects (< $3{\times}5\;cm$) may heal spontaneously and large defects related with risks of infection and bleeding may require aggressive surgical treatment. Hyalomatrix$^{(R)}$ is a bilayer of an esterified hyaluronan scaffold beneath a silicone membrane. It has been used as a temporary dermal substitute to cover deep thickness skin defect and has physiological functions derive from the structural role in extracellular matrix and interaction with cell surface receptor. This material has been used for the wound bed pre-treatment for skin graft to follow and especially in uncooperative patient, like a newborn, this could be a efficient and aseptic way of promoting granulation without daily irritative wound care. For this reason, using Hyalomatrix$^{(R)}$ for the treatment of ACC was preferred in this paper. Methods: We report a case of a newborn with ACC of the vertex scalp and non-ossified partial skull defect. The large sized skin and skull defect ($6{\times}6\;cm$) was found with intact dura mater. No other complications such as bleeding or abnormal neurologic sign were accompanied. Escharectomy was performed and Hyalomatrix$^{(R)}$ was applied for the protection and the induction of acute wound healing for 3 months before the split-thickness skin graft. During the 3 months period, the dressing was renewed in aseptic technique for every 3 weeks. The skin graft was achieved on the healthy granulation bed. Results: The operative procedure was uneventful without necessity of blood transfusion. Postoperative physical examination revealed no additional abnormalities. Regular wound management was performed in out-patient clinic and the grafted skin was taken completely. No other problems developed during follow-up. Conclusion: Hyalomatrix$^{(R)}$ provides protective and favorable environment for wound healing. The combination of the use of Hyalomatrix$^{(R)}$ and the skin graft will be a good alternative for the ACC patients with relatively large defect on vertex.
The new approach using the Peak Pattern Method was conducted for the analysis of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) from the papers or paper products to provide certain hygienic data for the recycled papers as well as white papers. The height of the each peak, obtained from the PCBs standards, was transformed to the spectrum to compare with that of the samples. In addition to the results of the single PCBs standards, the pattern of mixed PCBs standards with the adequate concentration and ratios were obtained prior to the analysis of the paper samples. The test showed excellent repetition within 5% variation, and the recoveries of PCBs ranged from 92% to 97%. The PCBs, considered as a hazard material, were analyzed using the Peak Pattern Method from six different types of paper samples including the roll tissue. It could not find the same pattern of the PCBs peaks from all of the paper samples.

The purpose of this study was to test and compare the accuracy and reliability of soft tissue profile predictions generated from two computer software programs (Quick Ceph Image $Pro^{TM}$ (ver 3.0) and $V-Ceph^{TM}$(ver 3.5)) for mandibular set-back surgery. The presurgical and postsurgical lateral cephalograms of 40 patients (20 males and 20 females) were traced on the same acetate paper with the reference taken as the cranial base outline. The presurgical skeletal outlines were digitized onto each computer program and the mandible was moved to mimic the expected surgical procedure with reverence to the mandibular anterior border and lower incisor position of the actual postsurgical skeletal outline. The soft tissue profile was generated and the amount and direction of skeletal movement was calculated with each software. The predicted soft tissue profile was compared to the actual postsurgical soft tissue profile. There were differences between the actual and the predicted surgical soft tissue profile charges in the magnitude and direction, especially the upper lip. lower lip and the soft tissue chin (P<0.05). Quick Ceph had more horizontal measurement errors and thickness errors for the upper lip and lower lip, but V-Ceph had more vertical measurement errors of the lower lip (P<0.05). There was a positive correlation between the prediction errors and the amount of mandibular movements in the vertical position of Sn, the horizontal position of Ls and the upper lip thickness for V-Ceph, and there was a negative correlation in the horizontal position and the thickness of the lower lip for Quick Ceph (P<0.05). However all of the Prediction errors of both imaging softwares were ranged within 3mm, and this was considered to be allowable clinically.
Present paper is attempted to introduce the phenomenon of 'after contraction' in isolated cardiac-muscle. Papillary muscles were removed from cat right ventricle and were used as a preparation. The muscle strip was Placed in tissue bath which is kept in steady temperature of around $25^{\circ}C$ and was perfuced by Tyrode solution, saturated with 95% $O_2$ and 5% $CO_2.$ under the condition of high calcium (8.2-10.0 mM/l), low sodium (72.4-70.0 mM/l) perfusion with the administration of epinephrine (1-2 mg/l) into tile tissue bath normally triggered muscle contraction was followed by oscillatory, repetitive contractions - after contraction. The phenomenon of after contraction was augumented by decrease in tissue bath temperature and by increase in number of preceding beats and in driving rate. Authors were able to maintain the phenomenon in prominent and steady state giving proper experimental conditions such as fixed bath temperature (ranged from $22^{\circ}C\;to\;27^{\circ}C$), suitable driving rate (20 per minute in average) and perfusion of high calcium, loll sodium and 1-2 mg/l of epinephrine. In some preparations, the strength of after contraction (second contraction) reached up-to 80% of normally triggered contraction and five repetitive contractions were observed as largest number of after contractions. Intracellular action potential measured in the muscle which was beating regulary showing steady after contraction revealed no oscillating after potential in most parts of the muscle but in few cases oscillating changes of after potentials were detectable. In electrogram of the muscle preparation recorded by means of contact electrode prominent, oscillating after potentials were observable when the recorder was set at highest sensitivity. It still is not clear that whether after contraction is the phenomenon which corresponds to those changes in action potential, oscillating after potential, of the muscle preparation. Possible mechanism of the phenomenon of after contraction relating with after potential changes was proposed. Detailed results obtained from further studies on after contraction and concrete discussion on the phenomenon will be reported by authors.
