Investigations on PD Characteristics of Thermal aged Palm and Corn Oil for Power Transformer Insulation Applications

  • Partial discharge (PD) detection plays a major role in the life time assessment of liquid insulation in power transformers. Many research works are being carried out to replace conventional mineral oil insulation in transformers by vegetable oils. It is necessary to understand the PD characteristics of vegetable oils before recommending them as an alternate for mineral oil. In this paper, the breakdown strength and PD characteristics of palm and corn oil were investigated in both unaged and thermally aged conditions. Laboratory experiments were performed as per IEC test procedures. PD signals were measured using wide band detection system. Phase resolved PD pattern of vegetable oils and mineral oil were compared. Effect of increase in voltage stress on the PD pattern of palm and corn oil were studied. Time and frequency domain analysis of PD pulses at needle-plane electrode configuration was carried out. Statistical analysis of PD pattern i.e. skewness and shape parameter variations with respect to applied thermal stress were also carried out. From the results, it is observed that palm and corn oils have better breakdown strength and PD characteristics even under long-term thermal stress and hence they can be used for power transformer applications.

유연한 구조물 위를 주행하는 물체의 동역학적 해석 (Dynamic Analysis of a Body Moving on a Flexible Structure)

  • An efficient iterative method is presented for the dynamic analysis of bodies moving on flexible structures. In contrast to traditional approaches, the nominal motion of the body is considered here as an unknown. The correct contact forces between the bodies and the flexible structures are computed by an iterative method reducing the specially defined error vectors to zero, and thus satisfying the constraints between the bodies and the structures. Even thought only simple equations of motions and simple time integrators are adopted, the correct solutions are economically obtained and the Timoshenko paradox is completely resolved. Numerical simulations are conducted demonstrate the accuracy and reliability of the solution and to compare the results with the reference.

Delamination analysis of inhomogeneous viscoelastic beam of rectangular section subjected to torsion

  • This paper considers a delamination analysis of a statically undetermined inhomogeneous beam structure of rectangular section with viscoelastic behavior under torsion. The beam is built in at its two ends. The beam has two longitudinal inhomogeneous layers with a delamination crack between them. A notch is made in the upper crack arm. The external torsion moment applied on the beam is a function of time. Under these conditions, the beam has one degree of indeterminacy. In order to derive the strain energy release rate, first, the static indeterminacy is resolved. Then the strain energy release rate is obtained by analyzing the balance of the energy with considering the viscoelastic behavior. The strain energy release rate is found also by analyzing the compliance of the beam for checkup. Solution of the strain energy release rate in a beam without a notch in the upper crack arm is derived too. In this case, the beam has two degrees of static indeterminacy (the torsion moment in the upper crack arm is treated as an additional internal redundant unknown). A parametric investigation of the strain energy release rate is carried-out.

빅카인즈를 활용한 5·18 관련 국내 기사 분석 연구 (An Analysis of Domestic Newspaper Articles on 5.18 using the Bigkinds System)

  • 이 연구에서는 한국언론진흥재단의 빅카인즈에서 제공하는 1990년부터 2022년까지 약 30년간의 5·18 관련 뉴스데이터를 빈도분석과 네트워크 분석하였다. 구체적으로 시기별과 지역별 기사량을 분석하여 양적 변화 추이를 살펴보았으며 동시 출현 키워드를 활용한 정부별 네트워크 분석을 통해 정부별 주요 키워드 간의 연결 구조를 탐색하였다. 분석 결과, 시기적으로는 사회적 이슈가 많았던 2019년의 보도량이 가장 많은 것으로 나타났으며 지역적으로는 전라권의 보도량이 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 네트워크 분석 결과, 정권이 5·18을 바라보는 인식과 정책에 따라 뉴스데이터 내 5·18과 관련된 단어에 차이가 있었다. 5·18 뉴스데이터 분석을 종합한 결과, 5·18이 지역과 상관없이 시간이 지남에 따라 민주화운동으로 자리매김해 나가고 있었으나 동시에 5·18에 대한 왜곡이 해소되지 못하고 있음을 확인하였다.

  • We report a spatial fluctuation analysis of the sky brightness in the near-infrared from observations towards the north ecliptic pole (NEP) by AKARI at 2.4 and $3.2{\mu}m$. As a follow up study of our previous work on the Monitor field of AKARI, we used NEP deep survey data, which covered a circular area of about 0.4 square degrees, in order to extend fluctuation analysis at angular scales up to 1000". After pre-processing, additional correction procedures were done to correct time varying components and instrumental effects such as MUXbleed. To remove resolved objects, we applied $2{\sigma}$ clipping and point spread function (PSF) subtraction. We finally obtained mosaicked images which can be used for the study of various diffuse emissions in the near-infrared sky and found that there are spatial structures in the mosaicked images using a power spectrum analysis.

  • Of the various data that corporations can approach, web log data are important data that correspond to data analysis to implement customer relations management strategies. As the volume of approachable data has increased exponentially due to the Internet and popularization of smart phone, web log data have also increased a lot. As a result, it has become difficult to expand storage to process large amounts of web logs data flexibly and extremely hard to implement a system capable of categorizing, analyzing, and processing web log data accumulated over a long period of time. This study thus set out to apply Hadoop, a distributed processing system that had recently come into the spotlight for its capacity of processing large volumes of data, and propose an efficient analysis plan for large amounts of web log. The study checked the forms of web log by the effective web log collection methods and the web log levels by using Hadoop and proposed analysis techniques and Hadoop organization designs accordingly. The present study resolved the difficulty with processing large amounts of web log data and proposed the activity patterns of users through web log analysis, thus demonstrating its advantages as a new means of marketing.

시간분해 레이저 유도 파열 분광분석에 의한 원자력발전소 계통재질의 성분 정성분석 (Qualitative Analysis of the Component Materials of Nuclear Power Plant Using Time-Resolved Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy)

  • 시간분해 레이저 유도 파열 분광분석 (TRELIBS) 시스템을 구성하여 원자력발전소 계통재질의 성분을 정성 분석하는 데 응용하였다. 본 연구에서는 탄소강 (A106 Gr. B, A336 P11, A335 P22), 스텐인레스강 (type 304, type 316) 및 인코넬 계열 합금(인코넬 600, 인코넬 690, 인코넬 800) 시료를 사용하였다. 탄소강의 종류는 485~575 nm 파장영역에서 나타난 Cr/Fe과 Mo/Fe의 TRELIBS 피크 비에 의해서 서로 구분 가능하였다. type 304와 type 316 스텐인레스강은 485~575 nm 파장영역에서 나타나는 Mo의 TRELIBS 피크 존재 여부에 의해서 쉽게 구분 가능하였다: type 304는 어떤 Mo의 피크도 나타내지 않지만, type 316은 Mo의 피크를 보여준다. 인코넬 계열 합금강 종류는 420~510 nm 파장영역에서 나타난 Cr/Fe과 Ni/Fe의 TRELIBS 피크비에 의해서 서로 구분 가능하였다. TRELIBS는 시료의 전처리 없이 빠르고 쉽게 합금을 분석할 수 있는 효과적인 분석 기술임이 입증되었다.

2차원 포물형 반사경에 의한 충격파의 촛점형성에 대한 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of Shock-Wave Focusing from a Two-Dimensional Parabolic Reflector)

  • Shock-wave focusing from a two-dimensional parabolic reflector was simulated using an explicit finite volume upwind TVD scheme. Computations were performed for three different incident shock speeds of $M_s$ = 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3, corresponding to the relatively weak, intermediate, and strong shock waves, respectively. Numerical solutions nicely resolved all the waves evolving through the focusing process. As the incident shock strength increase, a transition was observed in the shock-fronts geometry that was caused by the change in the reflection type of converging shock fronts on the axis of symmetry, from regular-type to Mach-type reflection. The computed maximum on-axis pressure amplification and the trajectories of three-wave intersections showed good agreement with experimental results. The strong nonlinear effect near the focal region which determines the shock-fronts geometries at and behind the focus and at the same time confines the pressure amplification at the focus was clearly revealed from the present numerical simulation.

회전속도 증가에 의한 광디스크의 파괴현상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fracture Phenomena in Optical Disks Due to Increase of the Rotating Speed)

  • In this study, the fracture phenomena of optical disks are discussed by theoretical and experimental approaches and then some recommendations are presented to prevent the fracture. Linear equations of motion are discretized by using the Galerkin approximation. From the discretized equations, the dynamic responses are computed by the generalized- time integration method. As a fracture criterion for optical disks, the critical crack length is presented. From experimental methods, the fracture procedure is analyzed. The fracture occurs when disks have crack on the inner radius of the disks. Since the crack growth and the fracture result from the stress concentration on the tip of the crack, a measure should be taken to overcome the stress concentration. This problem can be resolved by the structural modification of a disk. This study proposes 3 types of improved optical disks.

  • Cloud computing is an evolving computing paradigm that has influenced every other entity in the globalized industry, whether it is in the public sector or the private sector. Considering the growing importance of cloud, finding new ways to improve cloud services is an area of concern and research focus. The limitation of the available Virtual Machine Load balancing policies for cloud is that they do not save the state of the previous allocation of a virtual machine to a request from a Userbase and the algorithm requires execution each time a new request for Virtual Machine allocation is received from the Userbase. This problem can be resolved by developing an efficient virtual machine load balancing algorithm for the cloud and by doing a comparative analysis of the proposed algorithm with the existing algorithms.
