  • In this paper, I had tried to analyze the relationship between the time assigned for computer usage and weakening eyesight. First of all, students classified by gender, school year, eyesight, and wearing glasses along demographic characters took part in a poll, and The questionnaire included questions about computer time, factors of weakening eyesight, and purpose of computer use. The finding in this analysis composed of a cross-tabulations between annual eyesight change and the factors to change their eyesight is that 63.6 % of 165 students participated in this survey weakened their eyesight within a year. To show a correlation between computer usage duration and worsening eyesight in this paper, regression analysis indicated weakened vision by computer usage duration per day and week instead of a year. In addition, according to the analysis between computer usage duration and weakened vision for the people who wear glasses or not trough Independent-Samples T test, weakened vision was shown in computer usage duration per day and week, but not shown in the duration by the year. Therefore, weakening vision was also worse for the people who didn't wear glasses than the others. This study indicated 24..5% of teenagers had poor eyesight by using their computer. According to the frequency analysis on purposes of computer usage, the biggest purpose accounting for 36.4% of the total was the computer usage as a game consol, and the computer as a learning tool was the next biggest purpose at 32.1%. • The growing interest in smartphones has increased the number of studies conducted on technology acceptance and user satisfaction. It is now over two years since the launching of smartphones, but there are not many researches on the usage behavior of today's smartphone users. Smart devices have evolved from smartphone to smart pad and smart TV, but there are still not many studies on variables such as knowledge about the parent product and the ability to use it. With this, I decided to study how the motivation and the ability of using smartphones affected the smartphone user's intention to use smartpads. This study presents the usage behavior of smartphone users and proves that the ability to use a parent product (smartphone) affects the user's intention to use an extension product (smartpad). The research results showed that the smartphone usage ability affected both variety of use and rate of use. The convenience and passing time factors affected variety of use; and the social interaction, entertainment and passing time factors affected rate of use. As for the intention to use smartpads, the smartphone usage ability and variety of use positively affected the smartphone user's intention to use smartpads. This study showed that the more the user used a smartphone to pass time and for convenience, the more effectively the user could use various functions. It proves that the variety of use of smartphone is highly related to the acceptance of smartpads. This study also proves that usage ability is an important factor in using innovative products, such as smart devices.

  • This paper describes a method of precise estimation for printing time and material consumption which are directly related to the 3D printing cost. Printing process and head motion of 3D printers using digital printing head, which is analyzed by its digitized steps, is rapidly simulated without slicing to calculate estimated printing results. Using this method, printing time and material usage of 3D printer were estimated quickly and precisely and compared to the real printing result. Applying compensation using the printing parameters, transferred from the 3D printer to the printing estimation system, even more accurate estimation is achieved. This method is used in the 3D Sprint software.

  • Objective: This study aimed to examine the effects of maternal monitoring, shared activities with children, maternal education-oriented behavior, and allowing children to own smart-phones on smart media usage patterns based on smart-phone usage time and purposes among elementary school children. Methods: The participants were 1,315 second-grade elementary school children from the 9th wave of PSKC. Latent profile analysis and the three-step estimation approach were used to examine the determinants of the latent profile and the effects of maternal parenting on the profile. Results: Four latent profiles were identified: 'High-level usage & Entertaining oriented,' 'Moderate-level usage & Social/entertaining oriented,' 'Moderate-level usage & Learning oriented,' and 'Low-level usage.' Additionally, results showed that each profile can be predicted by maternal monitoring, education-oriented behavior, and permitting children to own smart-phones. Conclusion/Implications: Our outcomes suggested that it would be necessary to understand the smart media usage patterns of elementary school children, considering both the amount of time spent with smart media and purposes of uses. Further, it is helpful for mothers to monitor children's daily activities, support their educational activities, and take the role of gatekeeper for smart media as a way of appropriate guidance for their children's use of smart media.
