  • A new PIV technique was developed for decreasing optical error which was created during simultaneous measurements of velocity fields at a wall-normal plane and wall-parallel plane by a plane PIV and a Stereoscopic PIV system. The two Nd:Yag laser systems and three CCD cameras were. synchronized to obtain instantaneous velocity fields at the same time. To avoid optical noise at the crossing line by the two laser light sheets, a new optical arrangement using polarization was applied. The obtained velocity fields show the existence of hairpin packet structure vividly and the idealized hairpin vortex signature is confirmed by experiment.

For experimental study, two different Reynolds number based on momentum thickness, Re$_{ =514 and 934 were generated in a blowing type wind tunnel under the condition of zero pressure gradient. The two Nd:Yag laser systems and three CCD cameras were synchronized. to obtain instantaneous velocity fields at the same time. To avoid optical noise at the crossing line by the two laser light sheets, a new optical arrangement using polarization was applied. The obtained velocity fields show the existence of hairpin packet structure vividly and the idealized hairpin vortex signature is confirmed by experiment.

전류변성기의 포화 검출을 위한 알고리즘 개발 (Method for Detection of Saturation of a Current Transformer)

  • A Method for detection of saturation of a current transformer(CT) is proposed. The algorithm is initiated when the end point of a saturation period is detected. This detection is achieved by checking the time interval between the adjacent zero-crossing points of the second derivative of the secondary current. Once the end point of the saturation period is detected, the beginning point of the corresponding saturation period is determined by backward examination of the sum of the secondary current from the end point. The performance of the algorithm was evaluated for a-g faults on a 345 kV 100km overhead transmission line. The Electromagnetic Transient Program(EMTP) was used to generate fault current signals for different fault inception angles and different remanent fluxes. The performance evaluation shows that the proposed algorithm successfully detects the saturation period even in the presence of a remanent flux.

  • Overhead transmission lines are mainly crossing mountainous area. They are easily affected in weathers like typhoon, strong wind, lightning, heavy rain, or heavy snow. Sometimes these weathers cause transmission line faults. A lightning flashover is most often fault. Nowadays lightning density in KOREA is growing high and lightning flashovers occur more often. A lightning flashover on transmission line is mostly cleared by momentary operation of a circuit breaker, so power failure happens rarely. However, when both circuits trip simultaneously due to the lightning flashovers on double circuit transmission line, short time power failure and voltage drop happen. KEPCO has used transmission line arresters to avoid double circuit simultaneous trip out since 2003. And transmission line arresters cannot be installed with KEPCO's present metal fittings, so various fittings have been used for each transmission line arrester manufacturer. This paper introduces development and standardization of arc-horn and metal fittings for transmission line arrester which can be used for both existing lines and new lines in KEPCO.

듀얼 모드형 고신뢰 PLC 모뎀 칩 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of the Dual-Mode Type Reliable PLC Modem Chip)

  • This paper represents a dual-mode type transmission technique for a high reliable narrow-band power line communication(PLC) modem, and its design and implementation of a system-on-chip(SoC). The proposed transmission technique is based on a Chirp modulation for the purpose of overcoming time variations of power line channel environments in the narrow-bandwidth of the frequency range of 95-145.5 kHz. The designed modem is fabricated utilizing a mixed 0.18 ${\mu}m$ CMOS technology. Especially, according to the power line channel environments the data transmission rate can be selectively changed into 2.5 kbps and 480 bps. The total hardware complexity of the implemented chip is about 50,000 gates, the power consumption is about 26mW, and the operating frequency is up to 5.12 MHz.

단선구간 열차경합해소 문제를 위한 수리계획 모형의 기본설계 (An Exploratory Development of Mathematical Programming Model for the Railway Conflict Resolution Problem on a Single Line Track)

  • This paper is designed to help train dispatcher resolve railway conflicts in rent-time. We developed a mixed integer programming model to optimize the train schedule that determines the best overtaking or crossing positions, The objective of the model is to minimize the maximum lateness of the trains and reduce the total sum of the lateness, while satisfying the field constraints associated with the difference between passenger trains and freight trains, and the limited number of sidings. We applied the model on a portion of a single line track, Joong-Ang Line to ascertain the efficiency of the model, and showed how the model can be used to resolve the railway conflicts. The results indicates that our model can provide useful results in terms of optimal schedule for the test problem. This type of modeling approach would be useful for a train dispatcher to make a real-time railway conflict resolution.

가변 전압기와 역기전력 차동방식을 이용한 센서리스 BLDC 전동기 드라이버 설계 (Design of Sensorless BLDC Motor Driver Using Variable Voltage and Back-EMF Differential Line)

  • A sensorless motor control scheme with conventional back-Electro Motive Force (EMF) sensing based on zero crossing point (ZCP) detection has been widely used in various applications. However, there are several problems with the conventional method for effectively driving sensorless brushless motors. For example, a phase mismatch of 30 degrees occurs between the ZCP and commutation time. Additionally, most of the motor speed/current controls are achieved based on a pulse width modulation (PWM) method, which generates significant noise that distracts the back-EMF sensing. Due to the PWM switching, the ZCP is not deterministic, and thus the efficiency of the motor is reduced because the phase transition points become uncertain. Moreover, the motor driving performance is degraded at a low speed range due to the effect of PWM noise. To solve these problems, an improved back-EMF detection method based on a differential line method is proposed in this paper. In addition, the proposed sensorless BLDC driver addresses the problems by using a variable voltage driver generated from a buck converter. The variable voltage driver does not generate the PWM switching noise. Consequently, the proposed sensorless motor driver improves 1) the signal-to-noise ratio of back-EMF, 2) the operation range of a BLDC motor, and 3) the torque characteristics. The proposed sensorless motor driver is verified through simulations and experiments.

  • 선로용량은 수요에 부합되는 최대열차횟수를 결정하고 수송력 증대에 필요한 투자우선순위 판단을 위한 중요한 척도이다. 특히 2016년 중반부터 고속철도노선에 두 철도운영자가 운송사업을 개시함에 따라 선로용량과 실제배정 가능한 최대열차횟수 간에 상충이 발생하지 않고 유효운송경쟁이 보증될 수 있도록 선로용량을 산정 관리할 필요성이 있다. 열차종별 운행횟수, 도중정차패턴과 착발시각, 운행시간, 열차의 대피 또는 교행, 열차간의 안전시격 등에 따라 선로용량이 크게 달라지므로 현재까지도 실제 적용에 많은 논쟁이 있는 것도 사실이다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하고자 철도운영자의 운송정책을 고려한 열차운행 스케쥴을 반영할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 기법에 의한 선로용량 산정방법을 제시하고자 한다.

Serial line multiplexing method based on bipolar pulse for PET

  • Although the individual channel readout method can improve the performance of PET detectors with pixelated photo-sensors, such as silicon photomultiplier (SiPM), this method leads to a significant increase in the number of readout channels. In this study, we proposed a novel multiplexing method that could effectively reduce the number of readout channels to reduce system complexity and development cost. The proposed multiplexing circuit was designed to generate bipolar pulses with different zero-crossing points by adjusting the time constant of the high-pass filter connected to each channel of a pixelated photo-sensor. The channel position of the detected gamma-ray was identified by estimating the width between the rising edge and the zero-crossing point of the bipolar pulse. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed multiplexing circuit, four detector blocks, each consisting of a 4 × 4 array of 3 mm × 3 mm × 20 mm LYSO and a 4 × 4 SiPM array, were constructed. The average energy resolution was 13.2 ± 1.1% for all 64 crystal pixels and each pixel position was accurately identified. A coincidence timing resolution was 580 ± 12 ps. The experimental results indicated that the novel multiplexing method proposed in this study is able to effectively reduce the number of readout channels while maintaining accurate position identification with good energy and timing performance. In addition, it could be useful for the development of PET systems consisting of a large number of pixelated detectors.

위상제어정류기의 직접 디지털 제어 (Direct Digital Control of the Phase-Controlled Rectifier)

  • A direct digital control technique of a current source using the phase-controlled rectifier is presented. A digital firing technique without sensing the line voltage is proposed. This scheme generates firing pulses directly from error signal between command and output voltage. Thus the phase detection transformers filters and zero-crossing detector are unnecessary. The synchronism is modeled and analized. Also a software synchronization algorithm is presented without a look up table and controls the system in real time with fast dynamic characteristics. Using the single-chip microprocessor 8097BH, the direct digital control is implemented with minimal hardware structure. Using the time-weighted performance index, the optimal discrete IPM control technique is also proposed to control the current of the PCR.
