This paper proposed a new real-time parameter tracking algorithm. Unlike the convenience algorithms, the proposed real-time parameter tracking algorithm can estimate parameters through three-phase voltage and electric current without coordination transformation, and does not need information on magnetic flux. Therefore, it can estimate parameters regardless of the change according to operation point and cross-saturation effect. In addition, as the quasi-real-time parameter tracking technique can estimate parameters through the four fundamental arithmetic operations instead of complicated algorithms such as numerical value analysis technique and observer design, it can be applied to low-performance DSP. In this paper, a new real-time parameter tracking algorithm is derived from three phase equation. The validity and usefulness of the proposed inductance estimation technique is verified by simulation and experimental results.

A new dead time compensation scheme that can exactly estimate the dead time and inverter nonlinearity under parameter variations is proposed for a PWM inverter-fed PMSM drive. The proposed scheme uses the fact that the sixth harmonic component in total disturbance estimated under the presence of various uncertainties is mainly caused by the dead time and inverter nonlinearity. The total disturbance due to the parameter variations as well as the dead time and inverter nonlinearity is estimated by the adaptive scheme. The sixth harmonic component is extracted from this total disturbance through harmonic analysis. The obtained sixth harmonic is processed by the PI controller to estimate the disturbance caused by the dead time and inverter nonlinearity in the stationary reference frame. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified. Without requiring an additional hardware, the proposed scheme can effectively compensate the dead time and inverter nonlinearity even under the parameter variations.
This paper describes an efficient time-varying parameter estimation algorithm by resetting the parameter and P matrix of the RLS algorithm. The described algorithm is useful for estimating both jump parameter and drifting parameter which vary quite rapidly.
In this research effect of physicochemical parameter on flocculation using PASS-100 were evaluated. pEt flocculant dosage, mixing intensity and detention time were adopted as experimental variables. The physicochemical parameter( p% mixing intensity and mixing time ) were important Parameter on flocculation performance. Effluent pH range for effective flocculation was 4.5-7. Optimum Gt$_{d}$ range was 20,000-30,000 and its range similar to alum flucculation. Rapid mixing was very important parameter to floe formation in PASS- 100 flocculation. Whereas, slow mixing did not affect to the removal efficiency at settling time for 30minute or more.
This paper proposed a discrete wavelet transform based method for time-varying physical parameter identification of shear type structures. The time-varying physical parameters are dispersed and expanded at multi-scale as profile and detail signal using discrete wavelet basis. To reduce the number of unknown quantity, the wavelet coefficients that reflect the detail signal are ignored by setting as zero value. Consequently, the time-varying parameter can be approximately estimated only using the scale coefficients that reflect the profile signal, and the identification task is transformed to an equivalent time-invariant scale coefficient estimation. The time-invariant scale coefficients can be simply estimated using regular least-squares methods, and then the original time-varying physical parameters can be reconstructed by using the identified time-invariant scale coefficients. To reduce the influence of the ill-posed problem of equation resolving caused by noise, the Tikhonov regularization method instead of regular least-squares method is used in the paper to estimate the scale coefficients. A two-story shear type frame structure with time-varying stiffness and damping are simulated to validate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method. It is demonstrated that the identified time-varying stiffness is with a good accuracy, while the identified damping is sensitive to noise.
This paper prolposes a VFM (Variable Fading Memory)Kalman filtering and applies it to the parameter estimation for time-varying signals. By adaptively calculating the fading memory, the proposed algorithm does not require any predetermined fading memory when estimating the time-varying signal parameter. Moreover, the proposed algorithm has faster convergence speed than fixed fading memory one in case the signal contains an impulsive outlier. The performance of parameter estimation for time-varying signal is evaluated by computer simulation for two cases, one of which is the chirp signal whose frequency varies linearly with time and the other is the chip signal with an impulsive outlier. The experimental results show that the VFM Kalman filtering estimates the parameter of the chirp signal more rapidly than the fixed fading memory one in the region of an outlier.

In this paper, a new time-domain parameter extraction method for speech recognition is proposed. The suggested emthod is based on the fact that the local peak-to-peak interval, i.e., the interval between maxima and minima of speech waveform is closely related to the frequency component of the speech signal. The parameterization is achieved by a sort of filter bank technique in the time domain. To test the proposed parameter extraction emthod, an isolated word recognizer based on Vector Quantization and Hidden Markov Model was constructed. As a test material, 22 words spoken by ten males were used and the recognition rate of 92.9% was obtained. This result leads to the conclusion that the new parameter extraction method can be used for speech recognition system. Since the proposed method is processed in the time domain, the real-time parameter extraction can be implemented in the class of personal computer equipped onlu with an A/D converter without any DSP board.

This paepr is concerned with the design of linear parameter varying filter that ensures H$^{2}$/$H^{\infty}$ performance for a class of linear parameter varying(LPV) plants. The state space matrices of plant are assumed to be dependent affinely on a vector of time varying parameter, and each parameter is assumed to be measured in real time. Using the linear matrix inequalities(LMIs), we can solve the synthesis problem and the solution of LMIs is carried out off-line. The designed filter is parameter varying and automatically scheduled along parameter trajectories. Because the solution of LMIs is carried out off-line, computation time of filter gain is reduced. The validity of the proposed algorithm is verifed through computer simulation..

For model calibration in rainfall-runoff modeling, streamflow data at a specific outlet is obviously required but is not sufficient to identify parameters of a model since numerous parameter combinations can result in very similar model performance measures (i.e. objective functions) and indistinguishable simulated hydrographs. This phenomenon has been called 'equifinality' due to inherent parameter uncertainty involved in rainfall-runoff modeling. This study aims to investigate catchment responses in time and space to various uncertain parameter sets in distributed rainfall-runoff modeling. Seven plausible (or behavioral) parameter sets, which guarantee identically-good model performances, were sampled using deterministic and stochastic optimization methods entitled SCE and SCEM, respectively. Then, we applied them to a computational tracer method linked with a distributed rainfall-runoff model in order to trace and visualize potential origins of streamflow at a catchment outlet. The results showed that all hydrograph simulations based on the plausible parameter sets were performed equally well while internal catchment responses to them showed totally different aspects; different parameter values led to different distributions with respect to the streamflow origins in space and time despite identical simulated hydrographs. Additional information provided by the computational tracer method may be utilized as a complementary constraint for filtering out non-physical parameter set(s) (or reducing parameter uncertainty) in distributed rainfall-runoff modeling.

The problem of delay-dependent and parameter-dependent robust stability condition for discrete-time uncertain singular systems with polytopic uncertainty and interval time-varying delay is considered. A new robust stability condition based on parameter-dependent Lyapunov function is derived in terms of LMI (linear matrix inequality). Moreover, the proposed robust stability condition is a general condition for both singular and non-singular systems. A numerical example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
