Changes in the Fashion Preferences of Women in their Twenties according to Awareness of in Gender Equality (성평등 인식에 따른 20대 여성의 패션 선호도 변화)

  • In response to recent changes in gender equality and social awareness among female college students, we sought to investigate whether there were corresponding changes in their preferred fashion styles and items. A survey was conducted with 200 women in their twenties to determine whether they were aware of gender equality and social change, as well as their preferred fashion styles and items at both the time of college admission and the current time. Awareness of gender equality was divided into two factors: feminism and a perceived increase in women's social power. A significant difference was observed in the fashion styles of female college students in their twenties between the time of admission and the current time. Compared with the past, the preferred style has changed to gender-neutral rather than feminine, useful rather than aesthetics, character rather than fashion, sporty rather than elegance, and casual rather than formal. Preferred items included pants rather than skirts, sneakers rather than shoes, socks rather than stockings, long skirts rather than short skirts, and backpacks rather than handbags. The level of attention paid to campus attire per week decreased over time. No correlation was found between gender equality awareness and preferred fashion style, while feminism was correlated with preferred fashion items. The degree to which attention was paid to campus attire per week was correlated with feminism, but was not correlated with a perceived increase in womens' social power.

Expanded Petri-Net Modeling for Real Time Embedded System Context-awareness Service (실시간 임베디드 시스템 상황 정보 서비스를 위한 확장된 Petri-Net 모델링)

  • Some context is characterized by a single event in computing environment, but many other contexts are determined by a lot of things which occur with a space and a time. The Realtime Embedded System context-awareness service that interacts with the physical space can have property such as time. The exceptional behaviors of the system that interact with physical space can result in critical damage and cause danger to the operation of an embedded system. we propose an approach which should include spatio-temporal property and exceptional management in the context model, and verify its effectiveness using an expanded Petri-Net. The context-awareness service modeling of an embedded system is discussed the properties of model such as basic Petri-Net, patterned Petri-Net, or Spatio-temporal Petri-Net for the exceptional behaviors of the system. The proposed methodology demonstrated using an example that is emergency medical service. The use of expanded Petri-Net will contribute not only to develop the application but also to model the spatio-temporal context awareness for the exceptional handling.

  • Radar sensors are used for space situational awareness (SSA) to determine collision risk and detect re-entry of space objects. The capability of SSA radar system includes radar sensitivity such as the detectable radar cross-section as a function of range and tracking capability to indicate tracking time and measurement errors. The time duration of the target staying in a range cell is short; therefore, the signal-to-noise ratio cannot be improved through the pulse integration method used in pulse-Doppler signal processing. In this study, a method of improving the signal-to-noise ratio during range migration is presented. The improved detection performance from signal processing gains realized in this study can be used as a basis for comprehensively designing an SSA radar system.

The development and effects of an emotional competency promotion program for nursing students: A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design (간호대학생의 감성역량증진 프로그램 개발 및 효과: 비동등성 대조군 전후설계)

  • Purpose: The objectives of this research are to verify the development and effectiveness of a nursing student emotional competency promotion program that is important in professional nursing strategies for strengthening the psychological well-being of patients. Methods: This research was done by developing an emotional competency promotion program for nursing students according to the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation (ADDIE) model. Apply the program to students and evaluate their effects on their self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship management and self-efficacy using a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this research were 48 nursing students enrolled in the department of nursing of D College; 24 students were placed in the experimental group and 24 students were in the control group. The experimental group participated in the developed program from December 18, 2017 to January 12, 2018, for a total of 8 sessions. Each session was 120 minutes long. For data collection, a pretest, posttest 1 and 2 were performed using an independent t-test and repeated measure ANOVA using SPSS/WIN 22.0. Results: The experimental group who participated in the emotional competency promotion program showed higher self awareness (F=5.65, p=.005), self management (F=11.12, p<.001), social awareness (F=5.02, p=.009), relationship management (F=11.22, p<.001) and self-efficacy (F=14.24, p<.001) than the control group. These results were supported by a statistically meaningful difference in the time period and the interaction between the time period and the two groups. Conclusion: The study's findings indicate that the emotional competency promotion program developed through this study is effective at increasing the self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship management and self-efficacy of nursing students.

  • According to U.S. NTSB, from 1989 to 1992, Situation Awareness(SA) was a major factor causing 80% of all aircraft accidents in scheduled airlines. Therefore, the prevention of accidents through effective training in SA became a pivot in aviation safety. Furthermore, during the past 10 years, since all helicopter accidents in Korea were caused by the factors related to SA, an appropriate countermeasure has been required. This study, which uses survey data, examines various factors related to SA that could affect helicopter pilots. Common characteristics of situation awareness factors are that the result from the independent variables which are flight time, duty period and age of a first officer is statistically significant with the result from the independent variables of an instructor pilot's. However, only experience is statistically significant independent variable for factors influencing decision making in emergency situations, but anxiety, expectation and comprehension are not significant.

  • In this paper, we proposed the location tracking system based on MS-Based/Assisted(Mobile Station-Based and Assisted) location trigger service model with context-awareness for the intelligent location tracking of moving objects. It provides the proper resulting value that matches the context of users through the analysis about the situation of the user, physical environment, computing resource and the existing information on user input. In order to provide real-time data, we proposed the location tracking system which realizes the intelligent information such as the expecting arrival time and passing the specific area of the moving object by adopting the location trigger. So, it derives to minimize the costs of communication for the mobile object tracking applications. The proposed location tracking system based on context-awareness can be used for realtime monitoring, intelligent alarm/action, setting up of the optimized moving path, dynamic adjustment of strategies and policies. So it has the advantage to develop the application system which is aimed at optimization of the object tracking and movement.

Deep Learning based Distress Awareness System for Small Boat (딥러닝 기반 소형선박 승선자 조난 인지 시스템)

  • According to statistics conducted by the Korea Coast Guard, the number of accidents on small boats under 5 tons is increasing every year. This is because only a small number of people are on board. The previously developed maritime distress and safety systems are not well distributed because passengers must be equipped with additional remote equipment. The purpose of this study is to develop a distress awareness system that recognizes man over-board situations in real time. This study aims to present the part of the passenger tracking system among the small ship's distress awareness situational system that can generate passenger's location information in real time using deep learning based object detection and tracking technologies. The system consisted of the following steps. 1) the passenger location information is generated in the form of Bounding box using its detection model (YOLOv3). 2) Based on the Bounding box data, Deep SORT predicts the Bounding box's position in the next frame of the image with Kalman filter. 3) When the actual Bounding Box is created within the range predicted by Kalman-filter, Deep SORT repeats the process of recognizing it as the same object. 4) If the Bounding box deviates the ship's area or an error occurs in the number of tracking occupant, the system is decided the distress situation and issues an alert. This study is expected to complement the problems of existing technologies and ensure the safety of individuals aboard small boats.

Decision-making by the navigator's Situation Awareness (SA) for remote control on shore is expected to play an important role in ship collision avoidance.   • RFID tag awareness information and sensor data continuously change, and are categorized with the position. They are able to similar data in the side, called massive data to change in time. If two data are managed together, a convergence process of object awareness along change of environment is possible. If RFID middleware and EPCIS repository realized the integrated system, it is usable with the functions of middleware and repository at the same time. The real-time awareness information retrieval is possible without process, getting information from another middleware. In this paper, it is able to continuously read information from RFID reader and sensor equipment and store to database in order to make general object awareness and an object retrieval dependent on an environmental information change possible by real time. ALE-compliant middleware and EPCIS repository proposing for standards at EPCglobal is designed and implemented to be able to deal with RFID and sensor data to bases on the collected data.
