  • Recently, TTX(Tilting Train eXpress) has operated test. Electric railways, including the TTX, have electric problems(harmonic etc) that could bring about serious accidents.. Thus, TTX's electrical problems also need leading studies because the new Korean TTX will operate earnestly in 2012. In this paper, electrical signals in TTX operation were detected to analyze electrical harmonic. The electrical harmonics considered operation modes triparted(coasting, acceleration, braking) were analysed and evaluated.

  • This paper reports on the dynamics and friction characteristics of piston skirt with consideration of mixed lubrication. Piston skirt is an important part of the engine that transforms fuel into mechanical energy. The durability and low friction characteristics are important recent issues in piston skirt design. In this paper, the piston skirt motion is analyzed with consideration of mixed lubrication and piston skirt tilting motion. The entire trajectory of piston motion is obtained by using transient numerical method. Also various parameter studies are performed for piston skirt design and the development of lower frictional engine.

  • TTX(Tilting Train Express), which has improved traveling performance on curved track, is being designed in cope with future railway circumstance. Nowadays, in the world, many efforts are focussed on railway safety. Especially, a variety of researches on train crashworthiness have been conducted. As a part of these efforts, some equipments on TTX are designed to reduce fatalities and casualties in crash accidents. This paper introduces impact energy absorbtion characteristics on the initial design of the front end structure. Some comments are made briefly for improvement of initial structural design and future following researches.

  • Research for Tilting Vehicle is in progress as a plan follows in speed improvement of the existing railroad. According to this, Onboard Signal Control System is considered for introduction of new technology on Onboard equipment of railroad signal system and control system. Onboard Signal Control System operates the train by using of information that received from the ground.   • The Purpose of this paper is to characteristics and analysis of ride comfort by using HRV. Although the riding comfort of trains has been managed by setting allowable accelerations of 3-axis motion in cabins, it is impossible for this approach to express the psychophysical relationship between various vibrational factors and riding comfort. in order to propose a function to evaluate the riding comfort of train on conventional railroad, an experiment was performed with the Korea Tilting Tran eXpress(TTX). As a result, by referring to some international standards on the method of evaluating ride comfort, a modified method was proposed to evaluate the lateral vibration in addition to the roll motion on carve transitions.

  • The sophisticated technologies, ensuring both stability and curving performance, are required for the medium high speed train running on conventional railway line where tangent and curved section mixed together. We can hardly meet the both requirements conflicting each other with the conventional type of bogie. Effective solution is to apply stabilizing mechanism for the bogie design, which increase hunting stability or dynamically critical speed while maintaining curving performance. In this research the numerical analysis by means of multi-body dynamic simulation S/W, experiments by using roller test rig and main line running test have been comprehensively performed for the 200km/h Korean Tilting Train with newly developed stabilizer. The paper proposes the effectiveness of stabilizer and its usefulness based on the results of analyses.

  • The train entry into a tunnel generates a strong compression wave in the tunnel. The high amplitude of compression wave causes high pressure gradients that are responsible for both the aural discomfort of passengers and the impulsive acoustical wave called the miro-pressure wave. This paper provides a numerical study on effects of hood for micro'-'pressure wave reduction. An axisymmetric numerical solver, considering the cross sectional area of Korean Tilting Train eXpress, is used for a transient flow field in the tunnel. Results show that the micro-pressure wave is able to be reduced by a hood. In this results, the maximum reduction of micro--pressure wave is shown at 2L(length), 1.35D(diameter) hood around $56\%$ against the non-hood case.

  • 한국형 틸팅열차의 시험평가를 실시하기 위한 상시계측시스템은 크게 두 부분으로 이루어져있다. 하드웨어는 센서 계측용 랙, 계측용 콘솔 Desk, 전원공급 랙, 센서부 및 케이블부로 이루어지며, 소프트웨어는 계측프로그램, 후처리 프로그램, 분석 프로그램 등으로 구성되어있다. 이 중에서 차량 네트워크 신호를 입력받기 위한 TMS 신호 검지시스템은 기존에 개발되어 운용중인 타 시스템과 구별되는 틸팅열차 종합계측시스템만의 장점이라고 할 수 있다.

  • Recently, KTX start service 2004 and speed up the Chung-ang line and Ho-nam line using tilting train. When the train speed up at curve the vibration environment are changed. It is the reason of the wave propagation problem in the curved source. In this research, using SSI Program SASSI, Predict the vibration propagation around the curved source of vibration. The curved source of vibration propagation is different from straight source of vibration propagation. In this study, made a curved vibration source model and compared with straight model.
