  • A Duct surrounding a fan is known to reduce the tip loss and increase the fan performance efficiency. It also reduces the fan noise drastically. Ducted fan, therefore, has been focused to be a promising candidate for high efficient propulsion system. In this study, a small plane having ducted fan which can be tilted for vertical take-off and landing, is analyzed by CFD and its aerodynamic characteristics are compared. Ductef fan aircraft has small range of angle of attack for mininum drag and duct design should be focused for efficient ducted fan aircraft.

  • In the Smart UAV Development Program, one of the 21c Frontier R&D Program, the tiltrotor has been studied as the concept of vehicle. The tiltrortor aircraft take-off and land in rotary wing mode like conventional helicopter, and cruise in fixed wing mode like conventional propeller airplane. For the conversion of the flight mode from helicopter to airplane, the nacelle located at wing tip has to be tilted from about 90 degrees of helicopter mode to about 0 degree of airplane mode. In this study, the aerodynamic characteristics of the wing with tilted nacelle is investigated using computation fluid dynamics technique. In order to feature out aerodynamic interferences between wing and nacelle, the flow calculations are conducted for the wing and the nacelle separately and for the combined geometry of wing and nacelle, respectively. Through this computations, not only the aerodynamic data-base for the wing-nacelle is constructed but also its contribution to the configuration design of the wing-nacelle is anticipated.

틸트로터 항공기 복합재료 날개의 진동 제어 (Vibration Control of Composite Wing-Rotor System of Tiltrotor Aircraft)

  • 본 연구에서는 틸트로터 항공기의 날개-로터 시스템의 수학적 모델링과 자유진동 제어에 대하여 고찰하였다. 날개에 부착된 로터는 수직방향에서 수평방향으로 또는 그 반대로 틸팅각을 변경시킬 수 있다. 로터의 틸팅각, 복합재료 날개의 섬유각, 로터의 회전속도를 변수로 하여 자유진동 특성 및 압전재료를 이용한 자유진동 제어 효과에 대하여 고찰하였다. 복합재료 날개는 상자형 박판 보로 모델링 하였으며, 플랩-래그운동 사이의 연성과 인장-비틀림 운동사이의 연성이 발생하는 CUS 구조로 가정하였다. 수치해석 결과와 그에 따른 결론을 도출하였다.

항공기를 이용한 텔레메트리 신호의 공중 중계시스템 개발 (Development of an Airborne Telemetry Relay System Using Aircraft)

  • 비행시험 시 텔레메트리 신호는 지리적 영향에 의해서 가시선 차단 문제가 발행한다. 일반적으로 이와 같은 문제를 해결하기 위해서 고정형 중계시스템이나 이동형 중계시스템을 사용하지만 본 논문에서는 항공기를 이용한 텔레메트리 신호의 공중 중계시스템을 제안한다. 공중 중계시스템은 수신안테나를 장착한 항공기가 시험체의 텔레메트리 신호를 수신하여 지상시스템으로 재전송한다. 수신안테나는 위상배열안테나를 적용하여 Beam-forming에 의해 빔 방향을 ${\pm}30^{\circ}$까지 조향할 수 있으며, 빠르게 움직이는 시험체를 효과적으로 추적할 수 있다. 항공기에 장착되는 중계포드는 전방안테나와 측방안테나로 구성된다. 중계포드는 S-band 신호를 수신하여 L-band 신호로 주파수 하향 변환하여 재송신 시 항공기에서의 주파수 간섭을 제거하였다.

Improvement of self-mixing semiconductor laser range finder and its application to range-image recognition of slowly moving object

  • An infrared range finder using a self-mixing laser diode (SM-LD), which has been proposed and developed by the Authors, can measure not only a range of a moving target but its velocity simultaneously. In this paper, described is that the precise mode-hop pulse train can be obtained by employing a new signal processing circuit even when the backscattered light returning into the SM-LD is much more weaker. As a result, the distance to a tilted square sheet made from aluminium or white paper, which is placed 10 cm through 60 cm from the SM-LD, is measured with accuracy of a few percent even when the tilting angle is less than 75 degrees or 85 degrees, respectively. And in this paper, described is the range-image recognition of a plane object under the condition of standstill. The output laser beam is scanned by scanning two plane mirrors-equipped with each stepping motor. And we succeeded in the acquisition of the range-image of a plane object in a few tens of seconds. Furthermore, described is a feasibility study about the range-image recognition of a slowly moving plane object.

  • Sufficient energy charging during a day is essential for a solar-powered long-endurance aircraft. Variations of flight path that is superior to a basic circle path are sought in this study for more efficient charging. Flight path associated with roll and pitch attitudes are investigated. It seems that the pitch angle can play more important role than the roll angle for the solar charging efficiency. Thus, more energy charging is observed when the entire flight path is tilted toward the direction of the sun.

  • The Airship PKNU is a roughly 12 m (32 ft) long blimp, filled with helium, whose two-gasoline power(3hp per engine) are independently radio controlled. The motors and propellers can be tilted and are attached to the gondola through an axle and supporting braces. Four stabilizing fins are mounted at the tail of the airship. To fill in the helium, a valve is placed at the bottom of the hull. The inaugural flight was on jul. 31.2002 at the Pusan, S.korea Most environment monitoring system\ problem use satellite image. But, Low resolution satellite image (multi-spectral) : 1km ∼ 250 m ground resolutions is lows. So, detail information acquisition is hard at the complex terrain. High resolution satellite image (black and white) 30m : The ground resolution is high. But it is high price, visit cycle and delivery time is long So. We want make high accuracy airship photogrammetry system. This airship can catch picture Multi. spectral Aerial photographing (visible, Near infrared and thermal infrared), and High resolution (over 6million pixel). It can take atmosphere datum (Temperature (wet bulb, dew point, general), Pressure (static, dynamic), Humidity, wind speed). this airship is very Quickness that aircraft install time is lower than 30 minutes, it is compact and that conveyance is easy. High-capacity save image (628 cut per 1time (over 6million and 4band(R,G,B,NIR)) and this airship can save datum this High accuracy navigatin (position and rotate angle) by DGPS tech. and Gyro system. this airship will do monitor about red-tide, sea surface temperate, and CH-A, SS and etc.

도심항공 모빌리티(UAM)를 위한 역설계 기법을 사용한 멀티콥터형 eVTOL의 기본 개념설계 (Preliminary Conceptual Design of a Multicopter Type eVTOL using Reverse Engineering Techniques for Urban Air Mobility)

  • 대도시 도심의 교통 정체를 해결하기 위한 방법의 하나로 전기수직이착륙 개인항공기(eVTOL PAV)를 활용한 도심항공 모빌리티(UAM)의 관심이 증가하고 있다. 도심항공 모빌리티에 사용할 비행체인 eVTOL은 추진방식에 따라 복합형, 틸트 로터형, 틸트 날개형, 틸트 덕티드 팬형, 멀티콥터형으로 분류된다. 본 연구에서는 멀티콥터형인 에어버스사의 시티에어버스를 기본 모델로 주어진 임무 형상에 맞게 역설계 기법을 사용하여 기본 개념설계를 수행하였다. 공력해석 프로그램인 OpenVSP를 사용하여 표면적과 양항비, 항력계수를 계산하였다. 각 임무 구간별 소요되는 동력을 계산하였고, 그에 맞는 배터리와 모터를 비교하여 선정하였다. 또한 eVTOL 구성품별 중량을 추정하여 전체 총 중량을 예측하였다.
