광양 3열연 사상압연에서의 스탠드간 판 온도 예측 (Predictions of Strip Temperatures for Finishing Mill of Gwangyang Hot Rolling Line $\#3$)

  • The strip temperature history of finishing mill process is one of the most important factors to stabilize the facilities and to achieve the better product quality including a better prediction of roll force etc. The ultimate goal of this study is to improve scientific understanding of the finishing mill process in the view of heat transfer science. Finishing mill cooling facilities of KwangYang $\#3$ hot rolling are introduced and heat transfer analyses from FET to FDT are particularly focused in this study Three major tasks are successfully achieved as follows: 1) The temperature Prediction Models are developed. 2) The average absolute error is found to be less then 10 Celsius degree (about $8.5^{\circ}C$). 3) Prediction rate (less then $\bar{+}20$) are $10.2\%$ improved $(80.1\;\rightarrow\;90.3\%)$.

PET 인조 스웨이드 적용을 위한 적색 수성 잉크의 제조 및 코팅 특성 연구 (Investigation on the Preparing and Coating Properties of Water-based Red Ink for PET Synthetic Suede)

  • In recent years, the water-based ink have been widely used in various industrial applications due to environmental problems. Dispersibility of the pigment for applications of the water-based ink is the one of the most important technical factors to produce uniform color products. Thus, in this study, the three-roll mill process was used to improve the dispersion of the water-based ink. The results indicated that the three-roll mill reduced the size of pigment particles in the ink more than 50%. In addition, the dispersant showed an important role to maintain the dispersion stability of the pigment in the water-based ink over 120 hours. We also confirmed the optimum contents of the ink stock solution, drying temperature and drying time by the colorimeter and colorfastness tests on produced PET synthetic suedes.

  • 유한요소법을 통하여 유성압연기(planetary rolling mill)에 의한 동관 압연공정을 연구하였다. 이 압연은 3개의 롤에 의해 만네스만 공법으로 동관을 성형하는 공정이고, 냉간가공으로 시작하여 열간가공으로 종료되며, 기존의 압출방식에 비해 공정의 단축과 원가 절감의 장점을 갖고 있다. 압연공정은 다양하고 복합적인 공정변수 들을 포함하고 있고, 각각의 변수들은 성형결과에 영향을 미친다. 그러므로 동관압연의 모든 공정변수가 고려되어져야 한다. 동관 압연공정은 성공적으로 시뮬레이션 되었고 최적의 압연조건을 결정하는데 유용할 것이다.

디지털 필터를 이용한 단일 스탠드 압연기의 편심 진단 알고리즘 (An Algorithm of Diagnosing Eccentricity in Single Stand Rolling Mill)

  • 본 논문에서는 압연공정에서 편심을 검출하고 편심의 원인을 진단할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 설계된 기법은 대부분의 압연공정에 이미 설치되어 있는 로드셀과 타코메타의 출력 신호만을 사용하며, 추가적인 센서를 필요로 하지 않는다. 편심 신호의 검출은 중심주파수가 회전속도에 따라 변화하는 6개의 디지털 대역 통과 필터의 출력을 조합하여 이루어진다. 추출된 편심 관련 데이터로부터 편심의 원인을 진단하는 기능은 적절한 변수를 정의하여 구현되었다. 모의 실험은 세 가지 경우에 대해 행해졌는데, 롤의 일부분이 마모된 경우, 회전축이 롤의 중심과 일치하지 않는 경우 및 두 가지 원인이 복합된 경우 등이다. 모의 실험 결과는 제안된 알고리즘에 의해 모든 경우에 편심의 진단이 가능함을 보여준다.

냉간압연접합법에 의해 제조된 AA6061/AA5052/AA6061 복합판재의 미세조직 및 기계적 성질 (Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of AA6061/AA5052/AA6061 Complex Sheet Fabricated by Cold-Roll Bonding Process)

  • A cold roll-bonding process is applied to fabricate an AA6061/AA5052/AA6061 three-layer clad sheet. Two AA6061 and one AA5052 sheets of 2 mm thickness, 40 mm width, and 300 mm length are stacked, with the AA5052 sheet located in the center. After surface treatment such as degreasing and wire brushing, sample is reduced to a thickness of 1.5 mm by multi-pass cold rolling. The rolling is performed at ambient temperature without lubricant using a 2-high mill with a roll diameter of 400 mm at rolling speed of 6.0 m/sec. The roll bonded AA6061/AA5052/AA6061 complex sheet is then hardened by natural aging(T4) and artificial aging(T6) treatments. The microstructures of the as-roll bonded and age-hardened Al complex sheets are revealed by optical microscopy; the mechanical properties are investigated by tensile testing and hardness testing. After rolling, the roll-bonded AA6061/AA5052/AA6061 sheets show a typical deformation structure in which grains are elongated in the rolling direction. However, after T4 and T6 aging treatment, there is a recrystallization structure consisting of coarse equiaxed grains in both AA5052 and AA6061 sheets. The as roll-bonded specimen shows a sandwich structure in which an AA5052 sheet is inserted into two AA6061 sheets with higher hardness. However, after T4 and T6 aging treatment, there is a different sandwich structure in which the hardness of the upper and lower layers of the AA6061 sheets is higher than that of the center of the AA5052 sheet. The strength values of the T4 and T6 age-treated specimens are found to increase by 1.3 and 1.4 times, respectively, compared to that value of the starting material.

  • In this research on-line model for the prediction of the effective strain distribution in strip on finishing mill process is presented. To describe the effective strain distribution in strip, three guide points and a distribution fitting variable are used. On-line models to get these points and fitting variable non-dimensionalization method and least square method were used with FEM simulation results. The model is developed using strip only FEM simulation as reference sets and compared with roll coupled FEM simulation results as perturbed sets. The on-line model to describe effective strain distribution shows good agreement with coupled FEM analysis results.

  • A three dimensional finite element-based computer simulator is presented for the analysis of the thermomechanical behaviors of rolls and strip during hot strip rolling. The simulator is capable of predicting the strip profiles in a 4 high mill stand, and in particular, can account for the effect of bender forces and pair cross angles. The structure of the simulator as well as various numerical schemes employed are described. The capability of the simulator is demonstrated through applications to some selected set of process conditions.

Development of Coil Breakage Prediction Model In Cold Rolling Mill

  • In the cold rolling mill, coil breakage that generated in rolling process makes the various types of troubles such as the degradation of productivity and the damage of equipment. Recent researches were done by the mechanical analysis such as the analysis of roll chattering or strip inclining and the prevention of breakage that detects the crack of coil. But they could cover some kind of breakages. The prediction of Coil breakage was very complicated and occurred rarely. We propose to build effective prediction modes for coil breakage in rolling process, based on data mining model. We proposed three prediction models for coil breakage: (1) decision tree based model, (2) regression based model and (3) neural network based model. To reduce model parameters, we selected important variables related to the occurrence of coil breakage from the attributes of coil setup by using the methods such as decision tree, variable selection and the choice of domain experts. We developed these prediction models and chose the best model among them using SEMMA process that proposed in SAS E-miner environment. We estimated model accuracy by scoring the prediction model with the posterior probability. We also have developed a software tool to analyze the data and generate the proposed prediction models either automatically and in a user-driven manner. It also has an effective visualization feature that is based on PCA (Principle Component Analysis).

  • 유한요소법을 통하여 유성압연기에 의한 스테인리스 강관 압연공정을 연구하였다. 3개의 롤에 의한 만네스만 공법을 압연공정에 적용하였다. 보통 유성압연은 냉간가공으로 시작하여 열간가공으로 종료되며, 기존의 압출공정에 비해 공정단축과 생산비절감의 장점을 갖고 있다. 압연공정은 다양하고 복합적인 공정변수를 가지고 있으며, 각각의 변수들은 성형결과에 영향을 미친다. 따라서 유성압연의 다양한 공정변수가 해석에 고려되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 스테인리스 강관성형의 가능성과 생산성을 검토하였고, 소재예열 및 자전속도, 제품두께 변화를 해석에 반영하였다. 스테인리스 강관 압연공정은 성공적으로 시뮬레이션 되었고 최적의 압연조건을 결정하는데 유용할 것이다.

  • Flatness of strip at aluminum cold rolling is one of the important quality parameters of rolled products. The reasons for this are perhaps obvious: for many of the end uses, subsequent processing requires a flat product poor flatness on-line can lead to reduced running speeds and hence to lower production levels.
