3차원 공간 위상 관계 연산자의 설계 (Design of Three Dimensional Spatial Topological Relational Operators)

  • 지리정보시스템은 3차원 위상정보를 표현함으로써 사용자에게 정확하고 정교한 서비스를 제공한다. 이 때에 3차원 위상정보연산을 위해 차원변경방식과 서로 이질적인 공간모델을 사용해야 하는데, 이 방식을 사용할 때는 공간 연산이 어려울 뿐 아니라 서로 호환성이 부족한 문제가 발생한다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 이 문제를 해결하기 위하여 2차원 공간 객체 모델을 수용하는 3차원 공간 객체 모델을 제안하였고, 타당성을 보이기 위하여 구현하여, 그 실행을 보였다. 3차원 공간 위상 관계 연산자를 위하여 DE-9IM 방식을 3차원 개념으로 정의한 DE-9IM을 이용해서 설계하였고, 객체지향 개념을 지원하는 컴포넌트 환경에서 3차원 공간 위상 연산자를 구현하였다. 이 논문에서 제안된 3차원 공간 위상 연산자는 타 시스템과의 상호 운용성을 보장하며, 구현된 공간 위상 관계 연산을 이용하여, 3차원 공간 객체에 대한 효율적인 공간 질의를 수행할 수 있다.

Three-Dimensional Shape Reconstruction from Images by Shape-from-Silhouette Technique and Iterative Triangulation

  • We propose an image-based three-dimensional shape determination system. The shape, and thus the three-dimensional coordinate information of the 3-D object, is determined solely from captured images of the 3-D object from a prescribed set of viewpoints. The approach is based on the shape-from-silhouette (SFS) technique, and the efficacy of the SFS method is tested using a sample data set. The extracted three-dimensional shape is modeled with polygons generated by a new iterative triangulation algorithm, and the polygon model can be exported to commercial software. The proposed system may be used to visualize the 3-D object efficiently, or to quickly generate initial CAD data for reverse engineering purposes, including three dimensional design applications such as 3-D animation and 3-D games.

  • As Geographic Information Systems represents three-dimensional topological Information, the systems provide accurate and delicate services for user. In order to execute three-dimensional topological operations, a dimensional transformation and heterogeneous spatial models should be used. However, the existing systems that use the dimensional transformation and the heterogeneous models, are not only difficult to operate the spatial operators, but also happened to support non- interoperability. Therefore, in order to support the spatial operation as well as interoperability between dimensions, we propose three-dimensional spatial operators for the proposed models. We defined the three-dimensional spatial operators prior to designing the proposed model. We also implemented the operators of proposed model and evaluated the implemented model on the component environment. Finally, the proposed model is able to not only support interoperability among systems but also execute spatial queries efficiently on three-dimensional spatial objects.

3D Holographic Image Recognition by Using Graphic Processing Unit

  • In this paper we examine and compare the computational speeds of three-dimensional (3D) object recognition by use of digital holography based on central unit processing (CPU) and graphic processing unit (GPU) computing. The holographic fringe pattern of a 3D object is obtained using an in-line interferometry setup. The Fourier matched filters are applied to the complex image reconstructed from the holographic fringe pattern using a GPU chip for real-time 3D object recognition. It is shown that the computational speed of the 3D object recognition using GPU computing is significantly faster than that of the CPU computing. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on comparisons of the calculation time of the 3D object recognition based on the digital holography with CPU vs GPU computing.

  • In this paper, the algorithms which can track the two dimensional moving circular object using simple vision system are described. In order to track the moving object, the process of finding the object feature points - such as centroid of the object, corner points, area - is indispensable. With the assumption of two-dimensional circular moving object, the centroid of the circular object is computed from three points on the object circumference. Different kinds of algorithms for computing three edge points - simple x directional detection method, stick method. T-shape method are suggested. Through the computer simulation and experiments, three algorithms are compared from the viewpoint of detection accuracy and computational time efficiency.

  • Three dimensional shape measurement techniques are widely needed in industries for product quality monitoring and control. X-ray imaging method is a promising technology to achieve three-dimensional Information, both the surface and inner structure of an object, since it can overcome the limitations of conventional visual or optical methods such as an occlusion problem or surface reflection properties. In this paper, we propose three dimensional volume reconstruction method based on x-ray stereo imaging technology. Here, the stereo images of an object from two different views are taken by changing the object pose rather than moving imaging plane as in conventional stereo vision method.   • In this paper we propose a method of determining the local curvature of a three dimensional convex object using the force and torque information obtained from the active touch of a robot hand. A technique for estimating two dimensional curvature of a convex object are introduced and the way of computing the three dimensional curvature from the two dimensional vurvatures is presented. Also, we develop an experimental system consisting of a finger and verify the effectiveness of the proposed method experimentally.

  • 3차원 복원은 실세계에 존재하는 물체를 가상의 공간에 재건하고 자유로운 시점을 선택하여 물체를 관찰할 수 있게 한다. 이러한 3차원 복원 기술은 교육, 문화, 예술 등 분야를 막론하고 다양한 곳에서 사용되고 있다. 3차원 복원 시스템을 구현하기 위해 본 논문에서는 Microsoft사에서 출시된 Kinect를 이용하여 다시점 시스템을 구성해서 고품질의 3차원 객체를 복원하는 방법을 제안한다. 먼저 3대의 Kinect를 객체의 전면에 수렴형으로 설치하여 색상 영상과 깊이 영상을 획득한다. 그런데 원본의 깊이 영상은 깊이 값을 가지지 않는 부분이 존재한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이 부분을 적절한 깊이 값으로 채워 넣기 위해서 깊이 가중치를 추가한 결합형 양방향 필터를 적용한다. 또한 다시점 시스템에서 얻은 원본의 색상 영상은 서로 색상이 일치하지 않는 문제가 존재하는데 이를 그대로 이용하여 3차원 모델 정합을 하면 색상이 부자연스럽게 연결된 3차원 모델을 얻게 된다. 따라서 이러한 색상 불일치의 문제를 해결하기 위해서 본 논문에서는 다시점 시스템에서의 3차원 기하학적 정보를 이용한 색상 보정 방법을 사용한다. 실험을 통해 제안한 방법을 이용하여 획득한 3차원 모델이 원본 3차원 모델보다 색상과 형태 관점에서 자연스럽게 표현된 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, we propose a series of calibrations f3r the x-ray three dimensional imaging system. In the developed x-ray system, a three dimensional inner and outer shape of an object can be reconstructed out of two dimensional transmitted x-ray image set, which are acquired by projecting x-ray to the object from different views. To achieve this, a reconstruction algorithm which estimates and updates the three dimensional volume from x-ray images is developed. The algorithm is named as uniform and simultaneous algebraic reconstruction technique(USART) which is an iterative method estimating a 3D volume based on its projected images. In this method, it is assumed that the imaging conditions that are the relative positions between the x-ray sources, object and the image planes are blown. Practically it is not easy to know the three dimensional coordinate of the components of the system, since the x-ray is not visible and the image distortions are present due to the optical components in the system. In this paper, methods of correcting image distortions are present firstly. Then the coordinates of the x-ray systems are calibrated from the x-ray images of the grid pattern. Some experimental results on these calibrations are present and discussed.
