Experiment is carried out to investigate the mixed convective flow in three-dimensional horizontal rectangular channels filled with high viscous fluid. The particle image velocimetry(PIV) with thermo-sensitive liquid crystal tracers is used for visualizing and analysis. Quantitative data of temperature and velocity are obtained by applying the color-image processing to a visualized image, and neural network is applied to the color-to-temperature calibration. In this study, the fluid used is silicon oil(Pr=909), the aspect ratio(channel width to heigh) is 4 and Reynolds number is $2{\times}10^{-2}$. From the present study, we can visualize the quantitative temperature and velocity of mixed convective flow in three-dimensional horizontal rectangular channels simultaneously.

In this study, to clearly establish the concept of a geometric modeling I apply for the concept of Pushbroom, limited to two-dimensional radiation Locator to provide a three-dimensional information purposes. Respect to the radiation scanner Pushbroom modeling techniques, geometric modeling method was presented introduced to extract three-dimensional information as long as the rotational component of the Gamma-Ray Linear Pushbroom Stereo System, introduced the two-dimensional and three-dimensional spatial information in the matching relation that can be induced. In addition, the pseudo-inverse matrix by using the conventional least-squares method, GCP(Ground Control Point) to demonstrate compliance by calculating the key parameters. Projection transformation matrix is calculated for obtaining three-dimensional information from two-dimensional information can be used as the primary relationship, and through the application of a radiation image matching technology will make it possible to extract three-dimensional information from two-dimensional X-ray imaging.
In this paper, we proposed a three-dimensional visualization system for medical images in augmented reality based on deep learning. In the proposed system, the artificial neural network model performed fully automatic segmentation of the region of lung and pulmonary nodule from chest CT images. After applying the three-dimensional volume rendering method to the segmented images, it was visualized in augmented reality devices. As a result of the experiment, when nodules were present in the region of lung, it could be easily distinguished with the naked eye. Also, the location and shape of the lesions were intuitively confirmed. The evaluation was accomplished by comparing automated segmentation results of the test dataset to the manual segmented image. Through the evaluation of the segmentation model, we obtained the region of lung DSC (Dice Similarity Coefficient) of 98.77%, precision of 98.45%, recall of 99.10%. And the region of pulmonary nodule DSC of 91.88%, precision of 93.05%, recall of 90.94%. If this proposed system will be applied in medical fields such as medical practice and medical education, it is expected that it can contribute to custom organ modeling, lesion analysis, and surgical education and training of patients.
Hollow filament yarns provide better warmth to the touch, lighter in weight, increased opacity, and subtle luster compared to the regular synthetic filament yarns. However, luster properties of textile fibers or fabrics are often difficult to characterize, partly due to the fineness of the surface texture, the anisotropic nature of the weave structure, the complexity of the fiber array comprising a yarn, and the fiber structure itself. In this study, the fabric surface luster image was analyzed using image analysis methods after image acquisition. The hollow filament fiber was modeled using a three-dimensional modeling software. It was then ray-traced for comparing the virtual luster images of the hollow fiber and the regular fiber models based on shading models including photon mapping. The luster object size of the actual hollow filament fabric was smaller than that of the regular filament fabric. The shape of the luster object of the hollow filament fabric was dual peak type while that of the regular filament was single.

In this paper, we suggest three-dimensional information extraction map system using integral imaging technique. Integral imaging can record multiple elemental images with different perspectives using a 2D image acquisition device with lenslet array. Using these images, integral imaging can obtain 3D information and display 3D image. In this paper, the position difference between elemental images can be obtained using summation of absolute difference (SAD), and then 3D information can be extracted. Therefore, this technique can find the height information of 3D objects.
In this paper the object recognition performance of a photon counting integral imaging system is quantitatively compared with that of a conventional gray scale imaging system. For 3D imaging of objects with a small number of photons, the elemental image set of a 3D scene is obtained using the integral imaging set up. We assume that the elemental image detection follows a Poisson distribution. Computational geometrical ray back propagation algorithm and parametric maximum likelihood estimator are applied to the photon counting elemental image set in order to reconstruct the original 3D scene. To evaluate the photon counting object recognition performance, the normalized correlation peaks between the reconstructed 3D scenes are calculated for the varied and fixed total number of photons in the reconstructed sectional image changing the total number of image channels in the integral imaging system. It is quantitatively illustrated that the recognition performance of the photon counting integral imaging system can be similar to that of a conventional gray scale imaging system as the number of image viewing channels in the photon counting integral imaging (PCII) system is increased up to the threshold point. Also, we present experiments to find the threshold point on the total number of image channels in the PCII system which can guarantee a comparable recognition performance with a gray scale imaging system. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on comparisons of object recognition performance with 3D photon counting & gray scale images.
3-D image modeling is in high demand for automated visual inspection and non-destructive testing. It also can be useful in biomedical research, medical therapy, surgery planning, and simulation of critical surgery (i.e. cranio-facial). Image processing and image analysis are used to enhance and classify medical volumetric data. Analyzing medical volumetric data is very difficult In this paper, we propose a new image modeling method based on tetrahedrization to improve the visualization of three-dimensional medical volumetric data. In this method, the trivariate piecewise linear interpolation is applied through the constructed tetrahedral domain. Also, visualization methods including iso-surface, color contouring, and slicing are discussed. This method can be useful to the correct and speedy analysis of medical volumetric data, because it doesn't have the ambiguity problem of Marching Cubes algorithm and achieves the data reduction. We expect to compensate the degradation of an accuracy by using an adaptive sub-division of tetrahedrization based on least squares fitting.
Computation of three dimensional dose distribution using CT image and RT plan was applied to a case of pituitary adenoma. Algorithm was based on two dimensional Tissue Maximun Ratio model extended to the third dimension. The resulting isodose curve of transeverse, coronal and sagittal section was demonstrated. This RT plan allows computation of dose distribution in any arbitarily defined plane in addition to conventional cross sectional view.

The interpretation of resistivity data has, so far, mainly been made under the assumption that the earth is of relatively simple structure and then using one or two-dimensional inversion scheme. Since real earth structure and topography are fully three-dimensional and very complicated In nature, however, such assumptions often lead to misinterpretation of the earth structures. In such situations, three-dimensional inversion is probably the only way to get correct image of the earth. In this study, we have developed a three-dimensional inversion code using the finite element solution for the forward problem. The forward modeling algorithm simulates the real field situation with irregular topography. The inverse problem is solved iteratively using the least-squares method with smoothness constraint. Our inversion scheme employs ACB (Active Constraint Balancing) to enhance the resolving power of the inversion. Including Irregular surface topography in the inversion, we can accurately define the earth structures without artifact in the numerical tests. We could get reasonable image of earth structure by Inverting the real field data sets taken over highway bridge construction site.
The technique of birdeye image generation of terrain through the use of satellite digital images and digital maps are very important elements and have applications in fanning establishment as well as the actual design of several construction works in complex fields. This paper studies stereo perspective image generation as a possibility through 3-dimensional analysis combined with digital elevation data and remotely sensed images. For this, first of all, ortho-images generated by very accurate GCP and DEM from contour file makes 3-dimensional terrain analysis possible and allows stereoviewing at the highway construction planning sites. So, we developed the technical methods for the 3-dimensional approach on the planning sites of highways by use of perspective orthoimages. From this research, diverse terrain analysis is possible through stereo perspective image generation, and can leads to various application in road construction through gain study results from access to realtime virtual spatial on the objects area in korea.
