  • Three cheilostomatous bryozoan species collected from Gageodo Island of Korea in 1999, which are Chorizopora brongniartii (Audouin, 1826), Microporella marsupiata (Busk, 1860) and Celleporina costazii (Audouin, 1826), are newly added to the Korean fauna. The redescriptions of three species are provided with distributional data and detailed illustrations herein. As a result of this study, a total of 32 bryozoan species from Gageodo Island waters are now reported.

  • Enchytraeidae is one of the largest groups in Clitellata. They are commonly found in soil and aquatic environments and play important roles in these ecosystems. It is not easy to study enchytraeid clitellates because of difficulty in distinguishing morphologies between closely related species. In Korea, 29 species have been reported in this family. Of these, 27 species are terrestrial and only two species are aquatic. Here, we report three aquatic enchytraeid species new to Korea: Fridericia glandifera Friend, 1913, Henlea montana Rota, 1994 and Marionina brendae Bretscher, 1899.

  • Three species of Choreutidae, Choreutis atrosignata (Christoph, 1888), Choreutis japonica (Zeller, 1877), and Litobrenthia japonica (Issiki, 1930), are reported for the first time from Korea. The records of C. atrosignata and C. japonica are based on two females from Yeongwol, Gangwon Province and from the Island Chujado, Jeju Province, respectively. The latter species was obtained from two larvae collected on the leaves of Ficus erecta (Moraceae). Photographs and data of rearing the larvae are provided. The record of L. japonica was based on two specimens collected from the Islands, Bogildo and Wando, Jeollanam Province. The present data of L. japonica represent the first record of the subfamily Brenthiinae and the genus Litobrenthia from Korea. Distributions of two species C. japonica and L. japonica, previously known only from Japan, now extends to Korea. Habitus and genitalia of the species treated here are briefly described and illustrated, if possible. To sum up, the Korean Choreutidae comprises four genera and 10 species, nine in Choreutinae and one in Brenthiinae.

  • The present study summarizes the occurrence, distribution and autecology of 12 taxa of the class Cyanophyceae collected from several swamps, reservoir and highland wetlands in South Korea from 2009 to 2012. A new species, Anabaena koreana sp. nov. and 11 taxa of blue-green algae newly recorded are described and illustrated. Anabaena koreana is similar to A. oumiana, A. spiroides and A. crassa in that the trichomes form regular coils. However, A. koreana is distinguished from these three species by the morphological characteristics of the vegetative cell, heterocyst, and akinet shape and size. This study considers 12 blue-green algal species, including a new species, Anabaena koreana sp. nov. and 11 species that are recorded for the first time in the Korean freshwater algal flora. Among them, the genus Nostochopsis Wood ex Bornet et Flahault 1886 had not previously been recorded in Korea.

  • A new species of the genus Robertus Pickard-Cambridge, Robertus subtilis n. sp. is described from Mt. Odae in Gangwon Province, Korea. Theridion serpatusum Guan and Zhu, 1993 and Lathys annulata ${B\ddot{o}senberg}$ and Strand, 1906 are reported for the first time in Korea. Habitus photos and illustrations of these three species are provided.

  • This study aims to clarify the diversity of bryozoans which were collected from Seogwipo waters in Jeju Island, Korea. A total of 78 species has been reported from Seogwipo waters so far. In the present study, 63 species were found from nine sites of Seogwipo waters from 2008 to 2012, including six newly added species to the Korean bryozoan fauna and twelve species new to Seogwipo waters. As a result of this study, the bryozoans from Seogwipo waters were turned out to be 96 species, 64 genera, 42 families, three orders and two classes.

  • Eight new species of the genus Acanthomolgus are described as external associates of octocorallian corals from Korea. As diagnostic features of these new species, A. taenichaetatus n. sp. has ribbon-like distal caudal setae; A. jei n. sp. and A. crassae n. sp. have no inner proximal expansion on the exopodal segment of female leg 5, and the former species has only three setae on the maxillule (vs. four setae in other seven species). Acanthomolgus notialis n. sp. is similar to A. oporinus n. sp. in having a rounded inner proximal expansion on the exopodal segment of female leg 5, but the latter species is distinguished from the former by having longer caudal rami which are about 1.5 times longer than wide, by having a longer inner seta of the maxilla which is three quarters as long as distal lash, and by having unequal setae on the basis of maxilliped. Acanthomolgus dokdoicus n. sp., A. rugosus n. sp. and A. triplus n. sp. appear to be similar to one another in having an ear-like inner proximal expansion on the exopodal segment of female leg 5, but the genital double-somite of the female is distinctly longer than wide in A. rugosus n. sp. (wider than long in other two species), and the third endopodal segment of the antenna is distinctly shorter than the first endopodal segment in A. triplus n. sp. (vice versa in other two species). This is the first record on the genus Acanthomolgus in the temperate West Pacific.
