Comparative study of data selection in data integration for 3D building reconstruction

  • In this research, we presented a data integration, which integrates ultra high resolution images and complementary data for 3D building reconstruction. In our method, as the ultra high resolution image, Three Line Sensor (TLS) images are used in combination with 2D digital maps, DSMs and both of them. Reconstructed 3D buildings, correctness rate and the accuracy of results were presented. As a result, optimized combination scheme of data sets , sensors and methods was proposed.

CMOS x-ray 라인 스캔 센서 설계 (Design of a CMOS x-ray line scan sensors)

  • 본 논문에서는 의료영상 뿐만 아니라 비파괴검사 등에 활용되고 있는 CMOS x-ray 라인 스캔 센서를 설계하였다. x-ray 라인 스캔 센서는 512열${\times}$4행의 픽셀 어레이(pixel array)를 갖고 있으며, DC-DC 변환기(converter)를 내장하였다. Binning 모드를 이용하여 픽셀 사이즈가 $100{\mu}m$, $200{\mu}m$, $400{\mu}m$이 되도록 선택할 수 있도록 하기 위해 no binning 모드, $2{\times}2$ binning 모드와 $4{\times}4$ binning 모드를 지원하는 픽셀 회로를 새롭게 제안하였다. 그리고 power supply noise와 입력 common mode noise에 둔감한 이미지 신호인 fully differential 신호를 출력하도록 설계하였다. $0.18{\mu}m$ x-ray CMOS 이미지 센서 공정을 이용하여 설계된 라인 스캔 센서의 레이아웃 면적은 $51,304{\mu}m{\times}5,945{\mu}m$ 이다.

CNG 탱크 내 연료량 계측을 위한 송·수신 초음파 센서의 접촉면 변경에 따른 수신 감도 분석 (Analysis of Receiving sensitivity according to Contact Surface Change of Transmit-Receiver Ultrasonic Sensor for Fuel Level Measurement in CNG Tank)

  • 본 연구는 송 수신 초음파 센서를 이용하여 CNG 탱크에서의 정밀한 연료량을 측정하기 위한 기초 연구로써 탱크내부 압력 및 초음파 센서의 접촉면 변경에 따른 수신감도를 분석하였다. 실험은 탱크와 센서의 접촉면을 점, 선, 면의 3가지 타입으로 변경하고 탱크 내부의 압력을 0 bar 부터 5 bar까지 1 bar 간격으로 충전하면서 측정을 진행하였다. 실험결과 탱크내부의 압력이 증가함에 따라 초음파 센서의 수신신호 값이 감소하는 경향을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 탱크와 센서의 접촉면적이 증가할수록 수신 신호 값은 증가하지만, 노이즈 또한 증가하는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 실험 결과 초음파의 투과 특성을 이용하여 탱크내부의 기체 연료량을 측정할 수 있을 것으로 판단되며, 센서의 접촉면 변경을 통해 정밀성을 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • The robot systems are widely used in the welding manufacturing. The essential tasks to operate the welding robot are the acquisition of the position and/or shape of the parent metal. For the seam tracking or the robot automation, many kinds of contact and non-contact of the system which monitors the shape of the welding part is described. This system uses the line-type structured laser diode and the visual sensor. It includes the correction of radial distortion which is often found in the image from the camera with short focal length. Direct Linear Transformation (DLT) is used for the camera calibration. The three dimensional shape of the parent metal is obtained after simple linear transformation. Therefore, the system operates in real time. Some experiments are carried out to evaluate the performance of the developed system.

Time-division Visible Light Communication Using LED Lamp Light

  • We introduce a new method of time-division visible light communication (VLC) using LED lamp light for the generation of synchronizing pulses. The LED lamp, driven by an AC 220-V power line, radiates light that has a 120-Hz frequency component. The pulse generator in each VLC system receives the LED lamp light and generates the synchronizing pulses that are required for time-division transmission of multiple VLC channels. The pulse period is subdivided into several time slots for VLC channels. In experiments, 120-Hz synchronizing pulses were generated using LED lamp light, and three VLC channels were transmitted independently without interfering with each other in a condition where the VLC signals overlapped in space. This configuration is useful in constructing multiple wireless sensor networks that are safe and without interference in locations where LED lamps are used for illumination.

  • Conventionally, air-cored Rogowski coil was designed for use as high alternating and transient current sensor without saturation caused by ferromagnetic material in its core. This paper investigated that Rogowski coil can be applied to low current measurement in 60Hz power line. Measured parameters R, L of coil were compared with theoretically calculated values. Output voltages crossed by Rogowski coil have shown some linearity according to input current(tens to thousands of amperes) passing through it. And also shielding effect for external noises was investigated for three cases.

Design and experimentation of remote driving system for robotic speed sprayer operating in orchard environment

  • The automation of agricultural machines is an irreversible trend considering the demand for improved productivity and lack of labor in handling agricultural tasks. Unstructured working environments and weather often inhibit a seemingly simple task from being fully autonomously performed. In this context, we propose a remote driving system (RDS) to aid agricultural machines designed to operate autonomously. Particularly, we modify a commercial speed sprayer for orchard environments into a robotic speed sprayer to evaluate the proposed RDS's usability and test three sensor configurations in terms of human performance. Furthermore, we propose a confidence error ellipsebased task performance measure to evaluate human performance. In addition, we present field experimental results describing how the sensor configurations affect human performance. We find that a combination of a semiautonomous line tracking device and a wide-angle camera is the most effective for spraying. Finally, we discuss how to improve the proposed RDS in terms of usability and obtain a more accurate measure of human performance.

준 마이크로파 발진기를 이용한 비 침습 혈당 센서 (Non-Invasive Blood Glucose Sensor By Sub-Microwave Oscillator)

  • 본 연구는 비 침습 방식으로 인체 혈당변화를 감지하여 준 마이크로파 대역의 발진 주파수 변화로 나타내는 발진기 센서를 제안하였다. 마이크로스트립 선로의 접지 면에 형성된 유도성 슬롯(inductive slot)과 생체조직 사이에 전자기적 결합을 통해 공진기로 구현되었으며, 능동회로를 연결하여 발진기를 구현하였다. 생체 조직을 가상한 팬텀 박스를 이용하였고, 3단계(0, 400, 800 mg/dL)의 혈당 농도 수준을 변화시켰을 때 공진기의 공진주파수가 상향 이동하는 것을 시뮬레이션 하였다. 시제품을 제작하여 인체 대신 돼지의 생체를 이용하여 실험한 결과, 1,100 MHz 부근에서 400 mg/dL의 혈당 농도변화 대비 약 14 MHz의 발진 주파수 천이가 관찰되어 혈당 센서에 적용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

전사 인쇄에 의한 3D와 다층의 Pt 전극의 CO가스 흡착 (CO Adsorption on Three-Dimensional and Multilayered Platinum Electrode Prepared through Transfer Printing)

  • Three-dimensional (3D) multilayered Pt electrodes were fabricated to develop a porous electrode using a pattern-transfer printing process. The Pt thin films were deposited using a transferred sputtering pattern having a 250 nm line width on the substrate, and the uniform line patterns were efficiently transferred using our proposed method. Temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) analyses were used to evaluate the porosity of the electrodes. It was possible to distinguish between two resolved maxima at 168 and 227 ℃, which could be described in terms of desorption reactions on the Pt (111) planes. The results of the TPD analysis of the 3D and multilayered Pt electrodes prepared through transfer printing were compared to those of an electrode fabricated through screen printing using a commercial Pt-carbon paste commonly used as porous electrodes. It was confirmed that the 3D multilayered electrodes exhibited a desorption concentration approximately 100 times higher than that of the Pt-carbon composite electrode, and the desorption concentration increased by approximately 0.02 mg/mol per layer. The 3D multilayered electrode effectively functions as a porous electrode and a catalyst.

원심펌프 계통의 고장검출진단시스템 : 등가관계 접근법 (Fault Detection and lsolation System for centrifugal-Pump Systems: Parity Relation Approach)

  • This paper deals with a fault detection and isolation scheme for a DC motor driven centrifugal pump system. The emphasis is placed on the design and implementation of the residual generatorm, based on parity relation, that provides decision logic unit with residuals that will be further processed to detect and isolate three important faults in the system;brush fault, impeller fault, and the speed sensor fault. Two process faults are modelled as multiplicative type faults, while the sensor fault as an additive one. With multiplicative fault, the implementation of the residual generator needs the time varying transformation matrix that must be computed on-line. Typical implementation methods lack in generality because only a numerical approximation around the assumed fault levels is employed. In this paper, a new implementation method using well tranined neural network is proposed to improve the generality of the residual generator. Application results show that the fault detection and isolation scheme with the proposed residual generator effectively isolates three major faults in the centrifugal pump system even with a wide range of fault magnitude.
