분리된 삼상자속구속형 전류제한기의 인덕턴스 변화에 따른 전류제한 특성 분석 (Analysis of Fault Current Limiting Characteristics According to Variation of Inductances in Separated Three-phase Flux-lock Type SFCL)

  • We investigated the fault current characteristics of the separates three-phase flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) according to the variation of inductances. The single-phase flux-lock type SFCL consists of two coils. The primary coil is wound in parallel to the secondary coil on an iron core. And superconductor is series connected on secondary coil. Superconductor is using the YBCO coated conductor. The separated three-phase flux-lock type SFCL consists of single-phase flux-phase type SFCL in each phase. To analyze the current limiting characteristics of a three-phase flux-lock type SFCL, the short circuit experiments were carried out fault such as the triple line-to-ground fault. The experimental result shows that fault current limiting characteristics of additive polarity winding was better than subtractive polarity winding and when the inductances of coil 2 was lower, resistances of YBCO CC was more generated.

Taxonomic study of three new Antarctic Asterochloris (Trebouxiophyceae) based on morphological and molecular data

  • Asterochloris is one of the most common genera of lichen phycobionts in Trebouxiophyceae. Asterochloris phycobionts associated with the lichenized fungi Cladonia and Stereocaulon in King George Island (Antarctica) and Morro Chico (Chile), were isolated and then used to establish clonal cultures. To understand the phylogenetic relationships and species diversity of Antarctic Asterochloris species, molecular and morphological data were analyzed by using three microscopy techniques (light, confocal laser and transmission electron) and a multi-locus phylogeny with data from the nuclear-encoded internal transcribed spacer (ITS) rDNA and the actin and plastid-encoded ribulose bisphosphate carboxylase large chain (rbcL) coding genes. Morphological data of three Antarctic strains showed significant species-specific features in chloroplast while molecular data segregated the taxa into distinct three clades as well. Each species had unique molecular signatures that could be found in secondary structures of the ITS1 and ITS2. The species diversity of Antarctic Asterochloris was represented by six taxa, namely, A. glomerata, A. italiana, A. sejongensis, and three new species (A. antarctica, A. pseudoirregularis, A. stereocaulonicola).

  • In this paper, RFRPP(Random Frequency Randomized Pulse Position ) PWM for three-phase voltage-controlled inverters is proposed. The LLPWM(Lead-Lag PWM) techinquc is that three switching pulses are located randomly back and forth in each switching interval. But with the restriction of random distribution, the harmonic spectrum cannot be dispersedly and continuously distributed. This paper calculates the duty ratio of the switching pulse firstly. Second, the switching pulses are located randomly in the switching interval. Third, the fixed switching frequency of the space vector modulation is randomly varied. To verify the validity of the proposed technique, simulation study is tried using Matlab/Simulink. When a proposed techniquc is employed, the harmonic spectrum of the inverter output voltagc varies from one cycle to the next and the EMI(Electromagnetic Interference) and resonant vibration are greatly alleviated.

  • Three-level (3L) DC-DC converters are appropriate for high-input-voltage applications. Although the voltage stress of TL converter switches can be reduced to half of the input voltage, the primary side has a large circulating current, which degrades efficiency. In this study, a dual half-bridge cascaded TL converter is presented to reduce this circulating current and thus decrease the conduction loss of the primary circuit. Moreover, the proposed converter can reduce the voltage stress of rectifier diodes, thereby reducing their conduction loss. Therefore, efficiency can be improved by reducing the conduction loss of the primary circuit and rectifier diodes.

Kinematic Calibration of a Cartesian Parallel Manipulator

  • In this paper, a prototype Cartesian Parallel Manipulator (CPM) is demonstrated, in which a moving platform is connected to a fixed frame by three PRRR limbs. Due to the orthogonal arrangement of the three prismatic joints, it behaves like a conventional X-Y-Z Cartesian robot. However, because all the linear actuators are mounted at the fixed frame, the manipulator may be suitable for applications requiring high speed and accuracy. Using a geometric method and the practical assumption that three revolute joint axes in each limb are parallel to one another, a simple forward kinematics for an actual model is derived, which is expressed in terms of a set of linear equations. Based on the error model, two calibration methods using full position and length measurements are developed. It is shown that for a full position measurement, the solution for the calibration can be obtained analytically. However, since a ball-bar is less expensive and sufficiently accurate for calibration, the kinematic calibration experiment on the prototype machine is performed by using a ball-bar. The effectiveness of the kinematic calibration method with a ball-bar is verified through the well­known circular test.

An Investigation about Dynamic Behavior of Three Point Bending Specimen

  • Computer simulations of the mechanical behavior of a three point bend specimen with a quarter notch under impact load are performed. The case with a load application point at the side is considered. An elastic-plastic von Mises material model is chosen. Three phases such as impact bouncing and bending phases are found to be identified during the period from the moment of impact to the estimated time for crack initiation. It is clearly shown that no plastic deformation near the crack tip is appeared at the impact phase. However it is confirmed that the plastic zone near the crack tip emerges in the second phase and the plastic hinge has been formed in the third phase. Gap opening displacement crack tip opening displacement and strain rate are compared with rate dependent material(visco-plastic material). The stability during various dynamic load can be seen by using the simulation of this study.

  • South Korea is currently promoting cadastral computerization to modernize the field. Problems of cadastral mismatches are mostly resolved through cadastral mismatch organization projects. Three-dimensional cadastral drafting Is also on its way to wide adoption. In order to safeguard the property ownership rights of people and deliver accurate cadastral information quickly by constructing a three-dimensional cadastral information system, this study intends to provide solutions to survey real-time kinematic GPS (RTK-GPS) in mobile environments and to produce three-dimensional cadastral maps real-time using digital plane tables.

Vascular plants of Poaceae (I) new to Korea: Vulpia bromoides (L.) Gray, Agrostis capillaris L. and Eragrostis pectinacea (Michx.) Nees

  • Recent field and herbarium studies have yielded three vascular plant taxa of the family Poaceae that have been documented in Korea. All of the three species, collected from Jeolla-do and adjacent areas, were introduced and naturalized. Three species are identified as Vulpia bromoides (L.) Gray, Agrostis capillaris L. and Eragrostis pectinacea (Michx.) Nees. We provide the descriptions and descriptive photos of these species. Keys to the newly recorded species and related taxa are also provided.

  • A comprehensive thermo-electromagnetic model has been developed to estimate temperature and electromagnetic distribution in an three-phase induction motor under steady state operation. Electromagnetic modeling enables us to predict thermal dissipation rates by eddy-current loss and copper loss in induction motors. Non-uniform temperature distributions are investigated to account for the strong effect of local temperature build-up on the motor performance and expected life-span. For more accurate thermal modeling purpose, Heat loss mapping method, which is matched up with electromagnetic losses and volumetric heat source, is developed and performed analysis. Heat loss mapping method can be greatly used as a design or diagnostic tool for three-phase induction motors with complex structural electromagnetic fields.

  • Approximately 9.8% of neurogenic tumors of the mediastinum extend into the spinal column so that the composite neoplastic mass was dumbbell shaped. We experienced three patients confirmed by Dumbbell shaped mediastinal tumor radiologically and tried surgical resection by posterolateral thoracotomy only corpectomy and costotransversectomy was performed simultaneously in three patients and interbody fusion in two. In one patient the diagnosis was liposarcoma and in 1 neuroblastoma and in 1 neurilemmoma. then followed by radiation theraphy in case I and radiation and chemotheraphy in case II. All three cases showed satisfactory results clinically and radiographically.
