The purpose of this study was the observe the toxic effects of root canal sealers in 108 white rats. Experimental animals were divided into control and experimental groups. Theree representative types of materials, such as AH26, Z.O.E. and F.R. were used in this study. Cavities were prepared on the left mandibular area of 108 white rats. Three different sealers were placed in as experiment and bone cavities were left without filling as control. The experimental animals were sacrificed by cervical dislocation at the intervals of 1, 3, 7, 14, 28 and 49 days after filling. Each specimen was fixed with 10% neutral formalin solution, decalcified with 5% nitric acid, embedded in paraffin and sectioned 5-7${\mu}$. in thickness. The paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin - Eosin were observed through the ordinary light microscope. The results were as follows; 1. Slight toxic effect to surrounding tissue were found in every experimental specimen. 2. AH26 showed the highest inflammatory response, and F.R. showed the lowest inflammatory response which subsided and replaced by fibrosis at 4 weeks after filling. 3. The cavity filled materials, such as implanted root canal sealers, blood clots and necrotic tissue, showed a tendency to be absorbed gradually proportioned to the experimental periods. A small amount of cavity filled materials were observed in the bone cavities after 4 weeks. 4. Fibroblastic proliferation began to produce fibrous capsule around the bone cavity in 2 weeks after filling. Fibrosis was prominent at 4 weeks after filling. 5. Osteoblastic activity of surrounding bone was observed at first in 2 weeks after filling and prominent in 4 weeks after filling. Osteoblastic activity showed an increasing effect as the time prolonged. 6. Surrounding tissue of the bone cavities showed the features of tissue destruction and had very severe inflammatory response at an initial stage. Above-mentioned appeared to be recovered gradually proportioned to the experimental periods.
Fluid inclusions in granite and hydrothermal quartz indicate that three fluids have affected the Sannae granite. The earliest fluid is represented by three-phase aqueous fluid inclusions with high salinity (38 to 46 wt.% NaCl equiv.). It was exsolves from a crystallizing melt and trapped at a relatively high-pressure condition. The secong fluid is represented by two-phase aqueous fluid inclusion with low entectic temperatures (< $-40^{\circ}C$). low- to moderate salinity (3 to 24.0 wt.% NaCl equiv.) and high homogenization temperatures$ ($309^{\circ}C$$473^{\circ}C$)($. This fluid was trapped at higher pressures than 300-500 bars and precipitated molybdenite and wolframite in quartz veins. It was probably generted by fluid-host rock interactions since they show a wide range of salinity within a narrow range of homogenization temperatures. The final fluid is represented by an aquenous fluid boiling that separated into high-salinity (34-38 wt.% NaCl equiv.) and low-salinity fluid (0 to 8.7 wt.%) at $303-376^{\circ}C$ and 50-150 bars. These boiling fluids precipitated euhedral quartz in miarolitic cavities. The compositions of the final fluid was rather complex in the $H_2$O-NaCl-KCI-$FeCl_2$ system. The Sannae granite was a locus for repeated fluid events including magmatic fluids during the final stage of crystallization, the convection of hydrothermal fluids causing a fluid ascending, fluid boiling, and the local W-Mo mineralization and formation of miarolitic cavities due to thermal, tectonic and compositional properties of the felsic granite.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the adaptation of light cured dentin bonding agents to tooth structure by measuring contraction gaps on interfaces between cavity wall and composite resin under SEM study. In this study, class V cavities with cementum margin were prepared on the buccal surfaces of 15 extracted human premolar teeth and teeth were randomly assigned 3 groups of 5 teeth each. The cavities were filled with three dentin bonding agents and two composite resins were investigated for this study: three dentin bonding agents; Scotchbond 2, Scotchbond Multi-Purpose. All-Bond 2, two composite resins; Silux Pius, Z-100. Group 1 : Scotchbond 2 + Silux Plus Group 2 : Scotchbond Multi~Purpose + Z-100 Group 3 : All-Bond 2 + Z-100 The restored teeth were stored in 100% relative humidity at $37^{\circ}C$ for 7 days. And then, the roots of the teeth were removed with the tapered fissure bur and the remaining crowns were sectioned occlusogingivally through the center of restorations. Adaptation at tooth-restoration interface was assesed occlusally, gingivally, and axially by scanning electron microscope. The results were as follows : 1. In Group 1, the adaptation to dentinal wall of Scotchbond 2 was poor, but the adaptation to enamel wall of Scotchbond 2 was excellent. 2. In Group 2, the adaptation to occlusal was axial wall and gingival wall of Scotchbond Multi-Purpose was excellent. Especially in axially wall, the dentin bonding agents infiltrated into dentinal tubules and there was excellent adaptation to dentinal wall. 3. In Group 3, the adaptation to occlusal wall and axial wall of All-Bond 2 was excellent. But in gingival wall, there was gap formation between composite resin and dentin bonding agent.
In this study, adaptation of compomer to saliva contaminated dentin was evaluated with scanning electron microscope(SEM) and confocal laser scanning microscope(CLSM). For the SEM study, the occulusal surfaces of thirty two molar teeth were grounded to exposure dentin surfaces. The specimen were randomly assigned to control and three experimental groups with four samples in each group. In control group, Dyract and F-2000 compomer were bonded on the specimens according to the manufactures direction. Experimental groups were subdivided into three groups. They were contaminated with saliva on dentin surfaces ; Experimental group 1 : Saliva was dried with compressed air. Experimental group 2 : Saliva was rinsed with air-water spray and dried. Experimental group 3 : After polymerization of an adhesive, they were contaminated with saliva, and then saliva was rinsed with air-water spray and dried. Dyract and F-2000 compomer were bonded on saliva-treated dentin surfaces. The interfaces between dentin and compomer were observed with SEM. For the CLSM study, Class V cavities were prepared in buccal and ligual surfacess of thirty two molars. The specimens were divided into control and experimental groups. Class V cavities in experimental group were contaminated with saliva and those surfaces in each experimental groups received the same treatments as for the SEM study. Cavities were applied Prime & Bond 2.1 and F-2000 compomer primer/adhesive that were mixed with fluorescein, and then were filled with Dyract and F-2000 compomer. Specimens were embedded in transparent acrylic resin and sectioned buccolingual1y with diamond wheel saw, and then mounted on cover slide for CLSM study. The interface between cavity and compomer was observed by fluoresence imaging with a CLSM. The results were as follows : 1. In SEM exammination of Dyract group, control group, experimental group 2, 3 showed close adaptation to dentin and hybrid layer of $3{\sim}4{\mu}m$ diameter. Interfacial gap between compomer and dentin in experimental group 1 was wider than in control group. 2. In SEM examination of F-2000 group, adaptation to dentin of control group was closer than Dytact control group, but hybrid-like layer was not observed. Interfacial gap between compomer and dentin in experimental group 1 was wider than in Dyract experimental group 1. 3. In dissolution specimens of Dyract and F-2000 group, resin tags penetrated through dentinal tubules in control group and experimental group 1 and 3, but the penetration of resin tag was irregular and partial in experimental group 1. 4. In CLSM exammination of Dyract and F-2000 group, adhesive patterns of control and experimental groups showed same as in SEM. This result suggests the treatment methods, rinsing & drying, repeating all adhesive procedures, will produce good effect on adaptation of compomer to dentin if the dentin surface or polymerized adhesive is contaminated by saliva.
The unsteady supersonic flow over two- and three-dimensional cavities has been analyzed by the integration of unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) with the k-$\omega$ turbulence model. The unsteady flow is characterized by the periodicity due to the mutual relation between the shear layer and the internal flow in the cavity. An explicit 4th order Runge-Kutta scheme and an upwind TVD scheme based on the flux vector split with the van Leer limiters are used for time and space discritizations, respectively. The cavity has a L/D ratio of 3 for two-dimensional case, and same L/D and W/D ratio of I for three-dimensional case. The Mach and Reynolds numbers are 1.5 and 450000 respectively. In the three-dimensional flow, the field is observed to oscillate in the 'shear layer mode' with a feedback mechanism that follows Rossiter's formula. In the two-dimensional simulation, the self-sustained oscillating flow has more violent fluctuation inside the cavity. The primary fluctuating frequencies of two- and three- dimensional flow agree very well with the 2nd mode of Rossiter's frequency. In the three-dimensional flow, the 1st mode of frequency could be seen.
Osteoporosis is a bone disease associated with reduced bone mineral density resulting in debilitating bone fractures. The present study was carried out to determine the influence of ovariectomy(OVX) on serum level of sex steroid and bone metabolism, as well as bone mechanical property, in OVX subjects in comparison with controls. Body weight and food intake was significantly increased in OVX subjects than in controls. The serum level of estradiol(E2) was significantly lower in OVX subjects than in controls. The serum level of calcium and alkalin phosphatae were significantly increased in OVX subjects than in controls. The bone strength, based on the three point bending test, was not significantly different. Seven weeks after ovariectomy, the cavities in the bone reached 223% of the normal. In conclusion, seven weeks after ovariectomy osteoporo sis was evidently appeared.

Particle contamination into and out of a cavity-cylindrical cavities with aspect ratios(width/depth) less than, equal to 1 and langer than 1, and also three dianensional T's attached to a cylindrical flow tube was studied numerically, using a finite difference method. In the process of unsteady particle diffusion, the particles contained in a concentration boundary layer near the tube wall plays an important role in the initial stage, after which a quasi-steady concentration profile is developed inside the cavity, resulting in an exponential change of concentration with time. Average concentration and its rate of change are observed to be closely correlated by a power law function in terms of Reynolds number and the logarithm of Schmidt number. Effects of the three parameters-Re, Sc, and aspect ratio-are analysed and well explained.
The subcavity passive control technique is used in present study. Cavity-induced pressure oscillation has been investigated numerically for a supersonic three-dimensional flow over rectangular cavities at Mach number 1.83 at the cavity entrance. Time dependent supersonic turbulent flow over cavity were examined by using the three-dimensional, mass-averaged Navier-Stokes equations based on a finite volume scheme and large eddy simulation. The results showed that the resultant amount of attenuation of cavity-induced pressure oscillations was dependent on the length and thickness of the flat plate.

The subcavity passive control technique is used in present study. Cavity-induced pressure oscillation has been investigated numerically for a supersonic three-dimensional flow over rectangular cavities at Mach number 1.83 at the cavity entrance. The three-dimensional, compressible Navier-stokes equations are numerically solved based on a fully implicit finite volume scheme. The results showed that the resultant amount of attenuation of cavity-induced pressure oscillations was dependent on the length and thickness of the flat plate.
$Ag_4Br_4$ nanoclusters have been synthesized in about 75% of the sodalite cavities of fully $K^+$-exchanged zeolite A (LTA). An additional KBr molecule is retained in each large cavity as part of a near square-planar $K_4Br^{3+}$ cation. A single crystal of $Ag_{12}$-A, prepared by the dynamic ion-exchange of $Na_{12}$-A with aqueous 0.05 M $AgNO_3$ and washed with $CH_3OH$, was placed in a stream of flowing 0.05 M KBr in $CH_3OH$ for two days. The crystal structure of the product ($K_9(K_4Br)Si_{12}Al_{12}O_{48}{\cdot}0.75Ag_4Br_4$, a = 12.186(1) $\AA$) was determined at 294 K by single-crystal X-ray diffraction in the space group Pm m. It was refined with all measured reflections to the final error index $R_1$ = 0.080 for the 99 reflections for which $F_o\;{\gt}\;4_{\sigma}\;(F_o)$. The thirteen $K^+$ ions per unit cell are found at three crystallographically distinct positions: eight $K^+$ ions in the large cavity fill the six-ring site, three $K^+$ ions fill the eight-rings, and two $K^+$ ions are opposite four-rings in the large cavity. One bromide ion per unit cell lies opposite a four-ring in the large cavity, held there by two eight-ring and two six-ring $K^+$ ions ($K_4Br^{3+}$). Three $Ag^+$ and three $Br^-$ions per unit cell are found on 3-fold axes in the sodalite unit, indicating the formation of nano-sized $Ag_4Br_4$ clusters (interpenetrating tetrahedra; symmetry $T_d$; diameter ca. 7.9 $\AA$) in 75% of the sodalite units. Each cluster (Ag-Br = 2.93(3) $\AA$) is held in place by the coordination of its four $Ag^+$ ions to the zeolite framework (each $Ag^+$ cation is 2.52(3) $\AA$ from three six-ring oxygens) and by the coordination of its four $Br^-$ ions to $K^+$ ions through six-rings (Br-K = 3.00(4) $\AA$).
