Representation of fundamental solution and vibration of waves in photothermoelastic under MGTE model

  • In this paper, Moore-Gibson-Thompson theory of thermoelasticity is considered to investigate the fundamental solution and vibration of plane wave in an isotropic photothermoelastic solid. The governing equations are made dimensionless for further investigation. The dimensionless equations are expressed in terms of elementary functions by assuming time harmonic variation of the field variables (displacement, temperature distribution and carrier density distribution). Fundamental solutions are constructed for the system of equations for steady oscillation. Also some preliminary properties of the solution are explored. In the second part, the vibration of plane waves are examined by expressing the governing equation for two dimensional case. It is found that for the non-trivial solution of the equation yield that there exist three longitudinal waves which advance with the distinct speed, and one transverse wave which is free from thermal and carrier density response. The impact of various models (i)Moore-Gibson-Thomson thermoelastic (MGTE)(2019), (ii) Lord and Shulman's (LS)(1967) , (iii) Green and Naghdi type-II(GN-II)(1993) and (iv) Green and Naghdi type-III(GN-III)(1992) on the attributes of waves i.e., phase velocity, attenuation coefficient, specific loss and penetration depth are elaborated by plotting various figures of physical quantities. Various particular cases of interest are also deduced from the present investigations. The results obtained can be used to delineate various semiconductor elements during the coupled thermal, plasma and elastic wave and also find the application in the material and engineering sciences.

Plank's Equation의 변형에 의한 식품의 동결시간 예측 (Studies on the Freezing Time Prediction of Foodstuffs by Plank's Equation of Modification)

  • 이상과 같이, 기존 data의 정확도에 대한 고찰과 본 연구에서 소개한 단순한 해석적 방법에 의한 식품의 동결 시간예측 model로서, 실제 측정한 시료별 실험치와 기존 model을 비교 검토하였다. 기 발표된 lean beef등 109개의 data중, Hung & Thompson의 data는 Nagaoka 및 Pham의 model에, Cleland & Earle의 data는 Hung $ Thompson의 model에 매우 접근함을 볼 수 있으며, 시료별로 살펴볼 때, tylose등 5품목의 시료는 Nagaoka 및 Pham의 model에 잘 적용됨을 알 수 있다. 그러나 본 실험에서 사용한 pine mushroom등 4품목은 Cleland & Earle, Hung & Tompson 및 Pham의 model에 잘 부합되며, 제안된 model의 간편성과 정확도에 있어서도 단지 3가지의 실험적 매개변수와 7가지의 물성치 만으로 실험치와 비교한 결과, 공학적 최소오차 범위인 ${\pm}10%$ 이내로 나타났다.

버섯의 건조특성(乾燥特性)에 관한 연구 (Drying Characteristics of Mushroom)

  • At present, no appropriate drying conditions can be found for the heated-air drying of mushroom in Korea. Usually, mushroom is being dried at the temperature range of 40 to $50^{\circ}C$ until the moisture content reaches 10~13% (wb). However, drying characteristics of the mushroom should be investigated for quality improvement and efficient drying operation of the mushroom. The results of this study may be summarized as follows ; 1. The effect of air temperature on the rate of drying was greater than that of relative humidity for drying of mushroom, and the rate of drying was increased with increase in the air temperature. 2. Drying rate for Shiitake mushroom showed falling-rate period of drying without constant-rate period of drying. Drying rate for Oyster mushroom showed a short constant-rate period at the initial stage of drying process, and followed by falling-rate period of drying. 3. Exponential and App.-Diffusion models were found to describe well the drying process of Shiitake mushroom. Exponential and Thompson models for Oyster mushroom in which Thompson model was the most suitable for Oyster mushroom. 4. The equilibrium moisture content of the mushroom decreased with decrease in the air temperature and increase in the relative humidity. In room condition($20^{\circ}C$, 54% RH), the calculated values of the equilibrium moisture content showed 11.17% for Shiitake mushroom and 13.19% for Oyster mushroom, respectively.

Dot-Blotter 진공 포획방식에 의한 미생물세포 면역분석시스템의 개발 (Development of Immuno-Analytical System for Microbial Cells by using Dot-Blotter)

  • 병원성 미생물을 측정할 수 있는 분석시스템을 구성하기 위해 면역학적 성분들을 합성하였고, 이를 이용하여 모델 시스템을 구성함으로써 균 세포 분석원리가 연구되었다. 구성성분을 준비하기 위해 Salmonella thompson에 대한 복합 클론항체를 면역 친화 크로마토그래피를 이용하여 정제하였고, 이렇게 정제된 항체를 Streptavidin과 horseradush peroxdase에 화학결합시켰다. 항체와 Streptavidinfdm은 각각 SMCC와 SPDP에 의해 활성화 되있고 두 물질을 반응시킴으로써 중합체가 합성되었다. 중합체는diaminobiotion 젤과 sephades G-100젤을 이중 층으로 쌓은 칼럼을 이용하여 정제되었다. 항체- HRP 중합체의 합성을 위해, HRP를 $NAIO_4$ 처리에 의해 안정화된 중합체는 Biohel A5M을 이용한size exchusion크로토그래피로 정제되었다. 이렇게 준비된 중합체들과 dot-bloner 그리고 biotim이 고정화된 nitrocellulose membrane($12\mum$ pore size)을 이용하여 모델시스템을 구성하였다. 분석물질(S.Thormpson cells)을 먼적 액상에서 두 중합체와 반응되었고 반응먹을 membrane이 정착된 blotter에 옮긴 후 하부에 진공을 걸어 면역복합체를 biotin-streptavidin 반응에 의해 membrane 표면에 포획하였다.최적조건 하에서 시스템의 균 세포 분석원리를 확인하였으며 측정하한농도는 약 $1{\mu}g/m{\ell}(10^5 {\cdot} 10^6\;cells/m{\ell}$인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 측정성능의 주요조절인자는 두항체 종합체 농도의 증가는 항원-항체 응집반응을 초래하는 것으로 나타났다.

Optimal Control Model for Strategic Technology Transition

  • In this research, we explore how to manage the transition of technology generations considering incremental innovation of the existing technology generation. Firms can slow down decaying of the existing technology by continuous incremental improvements rather than introducing a new generation technology at the first time if the former strategy is better. We characterize optimal technology transition problem by setting up an optimal control model. The model which is originally designed and solved by Thompson(1968) as a ‘Machine maintenance problem’ has been cited to build the main body of our model. With this analytical model, we derive optimal ‘incremental innovation’ strategy which is considering transition to the next technology. Our analysis indicates that there exists an unique ‘stopping incremental innovation timing’. Before the point of time, the decision maker should make his effort at a maximum level to enhance the current technology. However from the stopping timing to the final time horizon where the new technology is introduced, it is found that not to invest to the current technology any more is optimal.

A Two-and-a-half-layer Model of the Circulation of South China Sea

  • A simple two-and -half-layer model is used to study the circulation of South China Sea( SCS ). The model is coming from the reduced gravity model of Hurbult and Thompson, with the assumption of rigid surface. It shows there is no distinct branch of the Kuroshio into the SCS. Both the upper and lower pycnocline height anomaly show that the main feature of the circulation of SCS is a cyclone, which is generated by the transportion of the vorticity from the Kuroshio. Aftr generated, the cyclone moves westward due to the beta effect, then dissipates near the west boundary due to the viscosity. After an old one dissipates, a new one appears again. The life cycle of the cyclone is about 160 days.

마늘의 건조특성에 관한 연구 (Drying Characteristics of Garlic)

  • This study was performed to find out drying characteristics and develop drying model for the design of an efficient dryer or drying system of garlic. The basic model which describes drying phenomenon of garlic was first established. A series of drying test were conducted with two varieties of garlic(Uiseong, Namdo) at 9-different drying conditions (drying temperatures ; $40^{\circ}C$, $50^{\circ}C$, $60^{\circ}C$, relative humidities ; 20%, 35%, 50%) and statistical analysis was made to fit the data with exponential equation, approximated diffusion equation, page equation, thompson equation and wang equation, respectively. In this test, the effects of drying air temperature and relative humidity on the drying rate were undertaken. Finally, new drying model based on these experimental results was developed to describe the drying characteristics of garlic. Also, the volatile components of garlic extracts were investigated. For experiment both Uisoeng and Namdo garlic were dried by heated-air-drying, followed by ether extraction. The extracts were analysed by Gas chromatography/Mass spectrometer.

눈송이의 크기와 질량 관계가 지표 강수 모의에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Mass-size Relationship for Snow on the Simulated Surface Precipitation)

  • 본 논문은 기상 모델의 미세구름물리 모수화 과정 내의 눈송이의 질량-크기 관계가 지표 강수 모의에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구에 관한 것이다. WDM6와 WSM6 미세구름물리 모수화 방안이 연구를 위해 사용되었다. 실제 관측된 자료를 바탕으로 산출된 Thompson의 눈송이의 질량-크기 관계를 도입하여 WDM6와 WSM6 내의 눈송이의 질량-크기 관계식을 대체하였다. 이상적인 스콜선과 한반도 겨울철 강수 사례에 대해 수정된 WDM6와 WSM6를 사용하여 민감도 실험을 실시하였다. 결과적으로, 대기 하층에서는 싸락눈과 빗방울의 혼합비가 증가하였고 눈송이의 혼합비는 감소하였다. 이러한 혼합비와 지표 강수의 변화는 빗방울과 눈송이의 충돌 및 병합 과정과 싸락눈의 융해 과정에 기인한 것으로 분석되었다.

단립종(短粒種)벼의 박층흡습방정식(薄層吸濕方程式) (Thin-layer Rewetting Equation for Short Grain Rough Rice)

  • An experimental study was conducted to develop a thin-layer rewetting equation of short grain rough rice of Akihikari variety. Four thin-layer rewetting equations were experimentally determined from $25^{\circ}C$ to $45^{\circ}C$ and 70%RH to 85%RH conditions. Diffusion, Henderson, Page, and Thompson equations widely used as thin-layer drying equations were selected. Experimental data were fitted to these equations using linear regression analysis except diffusion equation. The diffusivity in the diffusion equation was determined by optimization method. Four equations were highly significant. In order to compare the goodness of fit of each equation, the error mean square of each equawas calculated. The diffusion model was not a very good model because the error mean square was very large. The other three models showed the same level or error mean square and could predict satisfactorily the rewetting rate or short grain rough rice.
