  • This research focused on the development of concrete overlay and test, which was conducted at 88 Highway 105k, 2 lanes of 290 m. The field application test consists of 6 cm and 10 cm bonded concrete overlay and 25 cm unbonded concrete overlay, using the slag cement for opening lanes for traffic early. The overlay were placed in a day. The whole period of traffic closing wes 8 day and it was reopened to traffic after concrete overlay has cured for 3 day. 5 cracks were founded when the field test section was investigated after 1 month, but all these may not make significant problems to overlay because these initiated and growed at the same line of repair section. The rideability and skid resistance become much better like in the new pavement after overlay. The structural capacity against deflection was much. which were verified by FWD(Falling Weight Deflectometer). The field test section is being used in a good condition and the results of field application and pavement performance analysis are encouraging. This rehabilitation methods may be adopted in Korea after a more field performance verifications.

  • Joint stiffnesses can affect the vibrational characteristics of car body structures and, therefore, should be included in vehicle system models. In this paper, a numerical approximation of joint stiffness is presented for considering joint flexibility of thin walled beam jointed structures. Using the proposed method, it is possible to optimize joint structures considering the change of section shapes in vehicle structures. The numerical approximation of joint stiffnesses is derived using the RSM(Response Surface Method) in terms of beam section properties. The study shows that joint stiffnesses can be effectively determined in designing vehicle structure.

  • The scattering characteristics are analysed for the dielectric cylinder with arbitrary cross section partially covered by thin conductors. The integro differential equations consistant with boundary conditions of conductor and dielectric boundaries are derived by the equivalence principle. They are transformed into matrix equations by moment method. The circular dielectric cylinder covered by conductors at the upper and bottom side of the cylinder is chosen for the numerical example. Current distributions on conductors and scattering cross section by the cylinder are computed for incident wave perpendicular to the conductor plane.

  • The paper analyzes the problem of torsion in an adhesive non-tubular bonded single-lap joint. The joint considered consists of two thin rectangular section beams bonded together along a side surface. Assuming the materials involved to be governed by linear elastic laws, equilibrium and compatibility equations were used to arrive at an integro-differential relation whose solution makes it possible to determine torsional moment section by section in the bonded joint between the two beams. This is then used to determine the predominant stress and strain field at the beam-adhesive interface (stress field along the direction perpendicular to the interface plane, equivalent to the applied torsional moment and the corresponding strain field) and the joint's elastic strain (absolute and relative rotations of the bonded beam cross sections). All the relations presented were obtained in closed form. Results obtained theoretically are compared with those given by a three dimensional finite element numerical model. Theoretical and numerical analysis agree satisfactorily.

  • The 13C (α,n)16O reaction cross-section is important data for nuclear physics, astrophysical, and neutrino physics experiments, however, they exhibit uncertainties due to the discrepancies in the experimental data. In this study, using the Nedis-2m program code, the energy spectrum of α-induced neutrons in a thin carbon target was calculated and the corresponding reaction cross-section was refined in the alpha particle energy range of 5-8 MeV. The results were used to calculate the intensity and energy spectrum of background neutrons produced in the liquid scintillator of KamLAND. The results will be useful in a variety of astrophysical and neutrino experiments especially those based on LS or Gd-LS detectors.

  • Transmuted impurity atoms formed in neutron-irradiated ZnO thin films were theoretically identified first and then experimentally confirmed by Photoluminescence (PL). ZnO thin films grown by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy were irradiated by neutron beam at room temperature. Among eight isotropes naturely exiting in ZnO films, only $^{64}Zn$, $^{68}Zn$, $^{70}Zn$ and $^{18}O$ were expected to transmute into $^{65}Cu$, $^{69}Ga$, $^{71}Ga$ and $^{19}F$, respectively. The concentrations of these transmuted atoms were estimated by considering natural abundance, neutron fluence, and neutron cross section. The neutron-irradiated ZnO thin films were characterized by PL. In the PL spectra of these ZnO thin film, the Cu-related PL peaks were seen, but the Ga- or F-associated PL peaks were absent. This observation demonstrates the existence of $^{65}Cu$ in the ZnO. In this paper, emission mechanism of Cu impurities wil1 be described and the reason for the absence of the Ga- or F-associated PL peaks will be discussed.

  • A work of thin-walled outsell injection molding technology for a plastic part of moldframe applicable in a display product was performed in the present study. The thin-walled plastic part is one of the core parts in the display product, which supports and protects a light guide plate and back light unit from external environmental conditions. It globally has the shape of rectangular and surrounds the light guide plate and back light unit for each class of inch, however, the cross section of the part is not clear to define the thickness. This causes the difficult problem of injection molding itself for the part. Moreover, a metal outsell part makes a difficult problem in injection molding over it. Because the mold temperature control of the parts are not uniform in thickness direction due to the metal part. A careful injection melding analysis and injection mold design from the analysis results have to be proceeded to obtain a production of precision moldframe. Therefore, optimization for injection molding process and analysis of warpage characteristics were studied. Consequently, it was possible from the presented virtual manufacturing process that the manufacturing of precision thin-walled outsell moldframe.

  • The role of ZnS buffer layer not only suppresses chemical reactions between emission material and insulating material but also alters the luminescence and the crystallinity of the emission layer, if ZnS buffer layer was sandwiched between emission layer and insulating layer of electroluminescent device. In this research, we fabricated ZnS thin film with rf magnetron sputter system by varying rf power 100, 200W, substrate temperature 100, 150, 200, 250.deg. C and post-annealing temperature 200, 300, 400, 500.deg. C and analysed X-ray diffraction pattern, transmission spectra and cross section by SEM photograph for seeking the optimal crystallization condition of ZnS buffer layer. As a result, increasing the rf power, the crystallinity of ZnS thin film was improved. It was found that the ZnS thin film had better properties than anything else when fabricated with the following conditions ; rf power 200W, substrate temperature 150.deg. C, and post-annealing temperature 400.deg. C. ZnS thin film had the transmittance more than 80% in visible range. So it is suitable to use as a buffer layer of electroluminescent devices.

  • To overcome the drawback of currently available curved beam theories having non-symmetric thin-walled cross sections, a curved beam theory based on centroid-shear center formulation is presented for the spatially coupled free vibration and elastic analysis. For this, the displacement field is expressed by introducing displacement parameters defined at the centroid and shear center axes, respectively. Next the elastic strain and kinetic energies considering the thickness-curvature effect and the rotary inertia of curved beam are rigorously derived by degenerating the energies of the elastic continuum to those of curved beam. And then the equilibrium equations and the boundary conditions are consistently derived for curved beams having non-symmetric thin-walled cross section. It is emphasized that for curved beams with L- or T-shaped sections, this thin-walled curved beam theory can be easily reduced to the solid beam theory by simply putting the sectional properties associated with warping to zero. In order to illustrate the validity and the accuracy of this study, FE solutions using the Hermitian curved beam elements are presented and compared with the results by previous research and ABAQUS's shell elements.

  • The polypropylene has been known to have higher melting temperature than Polyethylene. and good mechanical properties. This paper introduces the experiment result for tree properties of polypropylene thin film with a crystal structure. According to the experiment. tree properties is appeared boundary section of thin film first of all. Also, Spherulites magnitude of slow cooling is larger than that of rapid cooling.
