The Efficacy and Safety Human Study of Narasoo Healing Shampoo and Hair Tonic for Scalp's Lipids & Moisture and Hair Growth -One Center, one group pre-post comparison Pilot Human study- (나라수 힐링액 샴푸와 토닉의 모발 유수분과 양모 효능 및 안전성 연구 -단일기관, 단일군 전후 비교 예비 인체 적용 시험-)

  • Objectives : This study was carried out to examine the change of scalp and hair condition and to evaluate the efficacy of hair growth, subject's satisfaction and safety of the Narasoo healing shampoo and Hair tonic Methods : We offered 25 subjects Narasoo healing shampoo and Hair tonic and observed the changes among the starting point, 3rd week and 6th week. Study methods include the measurement of water and sebum content of the scalp, photo of scalp and hair, thermographic images and questionnaires. Results : It is estimated that Narasoo healing shampoo and Hair tonic have the positive effects on increase of water contents hair gloss, removal of excessive hair keratin, facilitation of hair growth, and decrease of sebum contents. Conclusions : Several meaningful effects of Narasoo healing shampoo and Hair tonic are observed in this study. Additional research is needed forward.

Analysis of DITI, HRV about the Effect of Far Infrared Radiation Applied to Whole Body('On-tong Therapy') (전신 원적외선 조사요법(온통요법(溫通療法))의 치료 효과에 대한 적외선 체열 분포와 심박변이도 검사 분석)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to find the effect of Far Infrared Radiation (FIR) about improvement of chief complaints and health state. Methods: For this study we evaluated thermographic images, heart rate variability (HRV), visual analogue scale (VAS) score of 34 patients with various diseases. Tests were done two times, before and after treatments and we compared the test results. We used the temperature difference between CV12 and CV4, both sides of PC8, LR3 for recognizing improvement of blood circulation. We analyzed the change of complexity, stability of autonomic nervous system (ANS) by HRV test. The patients were asked to fill out questionnaire about the severity of symptoms by VAS score. Analyses were undertaken using SPSS ver.12.0.1 and p-value of < 0.05 was considered significant. Results: Statistical analysis shows that Far Infrared Radiation (FIR) had significant efficiency in increasing surface temperature and reducing VAS pain scores. In heart rate variability (HRV) test, LF/HF ratio showed tends to improve. Conclusions: The application of an FIR to whole body appears to alleviate various complaints of patients.

An Analysis of Relationships between Plant Growth and Temperature Characteristics Measured with Thermographic Camera (식물의 성장과 열화상카메라로 측정된 열적 특성과의 연관성 분석)

  • This study was experimentally performed to analyze the growth characteristics of a plant(wax tree or privet) using the surface temperature measured from thermal images captured using a thermal camera with water and cider. To do that, this study measured every each 12 hours the surface temperature and the stem temperature of leaves attached to the plant sample until the plants wilt on summer season in the laboratory room. From the experimental results, this study revealed that the temperature of front and back of the leaves is a little different due to the pore. The mean surface temperature of a leaf in cider is $0.52^{\circ}C$ higher than that of a leaf in water. The phenomena that the leaves of plants fall could be also demonstrated using the surface temperature. Before a leaf is falling from the tree, the temperature of the stem is lowered about $2^{\circ}C$ than those of other parts in a leaf. This result can be validated from previous result performed in University of Wisconsin.

The Effects of Different Moxibustion Stimulation at Abdominal Acupoints ($CV_{12}$, $CV_6$, $CV_4$) on the Skin Temperature Changes (복부 혈위 뜸 자극 위치의 차이가 체표 온도 변화에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives : This study aimed to investigate the difference of abdominal skin temperature responses following moxibustion comparing stimulation method. Methods : Moxibustion was applied on the acupuncture points of $CV_4$, $CV_6$, $CV_{12}$. Thirty healthy men were randomly divided into two groups, one receiving a single moxibustion stimulation in three locations '$CV_4{\cdot}CV_6{\cdot}CV_{12}$'(n=15) and the other receiving triple moxibustion stimulations in one location '$CV_{12}$'(n=15) for 30 min. To obtain the skin temperature on abdominal region, a thermograph was used. Three arbitrary frames(the upper abdominal, lower abdominal, whole abdominal regions) were made to analyse skin temperature. Thermographic images were obtained at before and after the procedure of indirect moxibustion and 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 min afterwards. Results : An increase in skin temperature on the three abdominal regions was observed following both one point and three points moxibustion administrations. Significant increase in skin temperature of the whole abdominal region was observed at 30 min after the procedure of three points moxibustion compared with one point moxibustion stimulation. A tendency of skin temperature changes over time was observed. Conclusions : In this study, skin temperature of lower abdominal region does not increase after triple moxibustion stimulations on $CV_{12}$. Administration of single moxibustion on $CV_4$, $CV_6$, $CV_{12}$ makes greater changes in skin temperature on the whole abdominal region than triple moxibustion on $CV_{12}$.

Study on Applicability of Passive Infrared Thermography Analysis for Blistering Detection of Stone Cultural Heritage (석조문화유산의 박리검출을 위한 수동적 적외선 열화상분석의 적용성 연구)

  • This study focused on analysis condition and application method of the passive infrared thermography according to the direction and time to nondestructively detect the blistering zone of stone cultural heritage. As a result, the passive thermographic images showed different temperature characteristics by time because it sensitively reacts to air temperature, insolation and sunshine direction. In particular, the insolation and sunshine direction, which are periodically changed from 6:00 to 17:00, irregularly made surface temperature. In addition, surface temperature differences were brought on fresh zones and blistering zones except specific time since blistering causes erratic thermal transfer. As a result of examining the detection characteristics of blistering by time, the blistering was well detected between 9:00 and 10:00 when there was rapid increase in air temperature and insolation in all direction except the north. However, this study isn't considered effects of four seasons because it is carried out in autumn, and the passive thermography has difficulty to analyze the quantitative area of blistering zone. Therefore, an additional study for synthetic consideration of the passive thermography analysis about four seasons and quantitative modeling of blistering zone using the active thermography are needed.
