In case of concrete, it should be deformed by many factors, such as explosive spalling, thermal strain and creep at high temperature. Structural fire design has been proposed to predict fire damage as national standard. It is general safer to use values obtained from tests of unstressed residual test in stead of stressed test. But most of thermal properties on concrete were conducted with normal aggregate. In this study, it evaluated mechanical properties of concrete with aggregate type and loading condition. we use normal and light aggregate to have different thermal properties. Also, we test mechanical properties to use Ø100×200 mm cylinder specimen according to target temperature and 0%, 20%, 40% loading.

The lateral reinforcements of concrete such as hoops and spiral bars are known to confine concrete to compensate the strength loss due to fire by reducing explosive spalling and improving the capacity of ductility. In this context, a study was conducted to investigate the residual mechanical properties of confined and unconfined concrete($f_{ck}$=60MPa) after a single thermal cycle at 300, 600, $800^{\circ}C$. The main parameters required to establish the stress-strain relationship are the peak stress, the elastic modulus, and the strain at peak stress. The knowledge of the residual mechanical properties of concrete is necessary whenever the thermally damaged structure is required to bear a significant share of the loads, even after a severe thermal accident. Based on the results obtained in this study, the residual stress of confined concrete under thermal damage is higher according to the level of confinement and the larger strain made it to have better ductility. The decreasing ratio of elastic modulus from the relationship of stress and strain was also smaller than that of unconfined concrete.

The mechanical deformation of a battery separator causes internal short-circuiting of the cathode - anode, which directly affects the explosion/ignition of batteries. To increase the mechanical properties of the separator fabricated by electro-spinning, use of a thermal pressing method is inevitable. Therefore, this research aims to maximize the mechanical strength of a porous separator by finding the proper thermal press temperatures given to Electro-spun Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofibers. The different thermal press temperatures $25^{\circ}C$, $50^{\circ}C$, $75^{\circ}C$, and $100^{\circ}C$ were applied to the electro-spun fiber at 30 MPa pressure for one hour. The higher the temperature, the higher the resultant tensile strength; however, a higher temperature also lowered the strain and porosity. Thus, the membrane thermal pressed at $50^{\circ}C$ showed the best mechanical properties and the second highest porosity. Using the data, $50^{\circ}C$ was judged as the best thermal pressing temperature in terms of performance.

The present paper employs nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT) to study buckling behavior of functionally graded magneto-electro-thermo-elastic (FG-METE) nanoshells under various physical fields. NSGT modeling of the nanoshell contains two size parameters, one related to nonlocal stress field and another related to strain gradients. It is considered that mechanical, thermal, electrical and magnetic loads are exerted to the nanoshell. Temperature field has uniform and linear variation in nanoshell thickness. According to a power-law function, piezo-magnetic, thermal and mechanical properties of the nanoshell are considered to be graded in thickness direction. Five coupled governing equations have been obtained by using Hamilton's principle and then solved implementing Galerkin's method. Influences of temperature field, electric voltage, magnetic potential, nonlocality, strain gradient parameter and FG material exponent on buckling loads of the FG-METE nanoshell have been studied in detail.
In the current paper, an exact solution method is carried out for analyzing the thermo-mechanical vibration of curved FG nano-beams subjected to uniform thermal environmental conditions, by considering porosity distribution via nonlocal strain gradient beam theory for the first time. Nonlocal strain gradient elasticity theory is adopted to consider the size effects in which the stress for not only the nonlocal stress field but also the strain gradients stress field is considered. It is perceived that during manufacturing of functionally graded materials (FGMs) porosities and micro-voids can be occurred inside the material. Material properties of curved porous FG nanobeam are assumed to be temperature-dependent and are supposed to vary through the thickness direction of beam which modeled via modified power-law rule. Since variation of pores along the thickness direction influences the mechanical and physical properties, porosity play a key role in the mechanical response of curved FG nano-structures. The governing equations and related boundary condition of curved porous FG nanobeam under temperature field are derived via the energy method based on Timoshenko beam theory. An analytical Navier solution procedure is utilized to achieve the natural frequencies of porous FG curved nanobeam supposed to thermal loading. The results for simpler states are confirmed with known data in the literature. The effects of various parameters such as nonlocality parameter, porosity volume fractions, thermal effect, gradient index, opening angle and aspect ratio on the natural frequency of curved FG porous nanobeam are successfully discussed. It is concluded that these parameters play key roles on the dynamic behavior of porous FG curved nanobeam. Presented numerical results can serve as benchmarks for future analyses of curve FG nanobeam with porosity phases.

Although concrete is a noncombustible material, high temperatures such as those experienced during a fire have a negative effect on the mechanical properties. This paper studies the effect of elevated temperatures on the mechanical properties of limestone, quartzite and granite concrete. Samples from three different concrete mixes with limestone, quartzite and granite coarse aggregates were prepared. The test samples were subjected to temperatures ranging from 25 to $650^{\circ}C$ for a duration of 2 h. Mechanical properties of concrete including the compressive and tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, and ultimate strain in compression were obtained. Effects of temperature on resistance to degradation, thermal expansion and phase compositions of the aggregates were investigated. The results indicated that the mechanical properties of concrete are largely affected from elevated temperatures and the type of coarse aggregate used. The compressive and split tensile strength, and modulus of elasticity decreased with increasing temperature, while the ultimate strain in compression increased. Concrete made of granite coarse aggregate showed higher mechanical properties at all temperatures, followed by quartzite and limestone concretes. In addition to decomposition of cement paste, the imparity in thermal expansion behavior between cement paste and aggregates, and degradation and phase decomposition (and/or transition) of aggregates under high temperature were considered as main factors impacting the mechanical properties of concrete. The novelty of this research stems from the fact that three different aggregate types are comparatively evaluated, mechanisms are systemically analyzed, and empirical relationships are established to predict the residual compressive and tensile strength, elastic modulus, and ultimate compressive strain for concretes subjected to high temperatures.
Recently an automobile industry is concerned about an automobile wiring harness system. It means that development of component modules is on the increase. An importance of the connector in one part of the modules will be enhanced. A connector is made of P.B.T. (Poly Butylene Terephthalate). PBT is resistant to the high temperature. This paper deals with thermal strain of connector. According as temperature increase, effects of the temperature and thermal strains give an analysis of the deformation using ABAQUS. This apparent thermal strain results actually from the variation of temperature. Being based on this analysis, axiomatic design applies to design parameters of the connector. As compared with CAE analysis, a performance improvement makes certain of the truth of the matter.
Even though numerous researches have been performed for the prediction of thermal stresses in mass concrete structures by both analytical and experimental means, the limitations exist for both approaches. In analytical approach, the fundamental limitation is derived from the difficulty of predicting concrete properties such as modulus of elasticity, coefficient of thermal expansion, etc.. In experimental approach, there are many uncertainties related to in-situ conditions, because a majority of researches have focused on measuring thermal stresses in actual and simulated structures. In this research, an experimental device measuring thermal stresses directly in a laboratory setting is developed. The equipment is located in a temperature chamber that follows the temperature history previously obtained from temperature distribution analysis. Thermal strains are measured continuously by a strain gauge in the device and the corresponding thermal stresses are calculated simply by force equilibrium condition. For the verification of the developed device, a traditional experiment measuring thermal strains from embedded strain gauges is performed simultaneously. The results show that the thermal strain values measured by the newly developed device agree well with the results from the benchmark experiment.
A numerical study is performed to investigate the impacts of thermal loading on the vibration and buckling of functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced composite (FG-CNTRC) conical shells. Thermo-mechanical properties of constituents are considered to be temperature-dependent. Considering the shear deformation theory, the energy functional is derived, and applying the variational differential quadrature (VDQ) method, the mass and stiffness matrices are obtained. The shear correction factors are accurately calculated by matching the shear strain energy obtained from an exact three-dimensional distribution of the transverse shear stresses and shear strain energy related to the first-order shear deformation theory. Numerical results reveal that considering temperature-dependent material properties plays an important role in predicting the thermally induced vibration of FG-CNTRC conical shells, and neglecting this effect leads to considerable overestimation of the stiffness of the structure.
In this paper, an analytical solution of displacement, strain and stress field for rotating thick-walled cylinder made of functionally graded material subjected to the uniform external magnetic field and thermal field in plane strain state has been studied. Stress, strain and displacement field as a function of radial coordinates considering magneto-thermo-elasticity are derived analytically. According to the Maxwell electro-dynamic equations, Lorentz force in term of displacement is obtained in cylindrical coordinates. Also, symmetric temperature distribution along the thickness of hollow cylinder is obtained by solving Fourier heat transfer equation in cylindrical coordinates. Using equation of equilibrium and thermo-mechanical constitutive equations associated with Lorentz force, a second-order inhomogeneous differential equation in term of displacement is obtained and will be solved analytically. Except Poisson's ratio, other mechanical properties such as elasticity modulus, density, magnetic permeability coefficient, heat conduction coefficient and thermal expansion coefficient are assumed to vary through the thickness according to a power law. In results analysis, non-homogeneity parameter has been chosen arbitrary and inner and outer surface of cylinder are assumed to be rich metal and rich ceramic, respectively. The effect of rotation, thermal, magnetic field and non-homogeneity parameter of functionally graded material which indicates percentages of cylinder's constituents are studied on displacement, Von Mises equivalent stress and Von Mises equivalent strain fields.
