폴리(메틸 메타크릴레이트)-개질된 전분과 스티렌-부타디엔 고무의 혼합에서 커플링제 메틸렌 디이소시아네이트의 효과 (Effect of Coupling Agent, Methylene Diisocyanate, in the Blending of Poly(methyl methacrylate)-Modified Starch and Styrene-Butadiene Rubber)

  • 메틸렌 디이소시아네이트(MDI)가 폴리(메틸 메타크릴레이트)-개질된 전분/스티렌-부타디엔 고무(PMMA-modified starch/SBR) 복합체의 물성을 향상시키기 위하여 새로운 개질제로 조사되었다. 한쪽에는 우레탄 결합의 형성으로 인해 다른 한쪽에는 ${\pi}-{\pi}$ 접착 때문에 MDI는 PMMA-modified starch/SBR 계면에서 중간 결합 역할을 하는 것이 형태학적, 기계적, 동역학적 그리고 열적 분해 연구에 의하여 증명되었다. 결과적으로, MDI의 존재는 PMMA-modified starch/SBR 복합체의 기계적 물성과 열적 안정성을 괄목할만하게 개선하였다. 게다가, 생성된 MDI/PMMA-modified starch/SBR 복합체의 여러 가지 물성에 대한 전분 함량의 효과가 형태학, 가황 특성, 기계적 물성, 톨루엔 팽윤 거동, 그리고 열적 안정성에서 조사되었고 자세하게 논의되었다. MDI/PMMA-modified starch/SBR 복합체는 carbon black/SBR(CB/SBR) 복합체보다 우수한 물성을 보였고, 고무 배합물에서 CB의 대체물로서 재생 가능한 전분의 유력한 사용을 보여주었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 ISO 9705(room corner test)에 의한 샌드위치 패널 화재 시험방법을 보완한 ISO 13784-1(room corner test for sandwich panel building systems) 시험방법을 적용하여 샌드위치 패널연소특성 및 성능을 분석하였다. 4종의 샌드위치 패널을 시험체로 선택하였으며, 시험 후 열방출율, 연기 발생율, FIGRA, SMOGRA 결과값을 중심으로 각 패널의 연소 성능을 분석하였으며, 최종적으로 유럽 Eurefic Research Program 및 EN 13501-1에서 제시하는 분류기준에 적용하여 등급분류를 시도하였다.

Methanol-LPG연료 전기점화기관의 성능 및 배출물농도 (The performance and emissions of methanol-LPG fueled spark ignition engine)

  • Engine performances and emission characteristics were investigated, using a experimental single cylinder engine with methanol-LPG(butane) fuel blend. The results were compared with the case of neat methanol and gasoline. The blending ratio of methanol to LPG was reasonable at 90 : 10(M90) and in using M90, the engine performances including output, brake specific fuel consumption and brake thermal efficiency, were better than those of neat methanol and gasoline. CO emission of M90 was lower than that of meat methanol by 15% and lower than that of gasoline by 35%. HC emission of M90 was also lower than that of gasoline by 46-85% in the whole range of .phi. The concentration of NOx emission of M90 was lower than that of gasoline and higher than that of neat methanol.

  • HYOSUNG manufactured and tested 1kW class PEFC systems to generate electrical and thermal energy for each residential usage. In particular, HYOSUNG developed power conditioning system that performs over 91% electrical conversion ratio specified in 1kW class PEFC systems. Prior to system integration, we tested each performances of components to derive control issues from it. In addition, we have been developing the adequate simulator to describe and predict system performance. In this paper, we verified HYOSUNG's 1kW class PEFC systems are valid for residential energy sources by testing the characteristics of systems and performances of main components.

핵연료 봉다발내 혼합날개에 의한 난류열전달 해석 (Turbulent Heat Transfer with Mixing Vane in Nuclear Fuel Assembly)

  • The purpose of present work is to analyze the convective heat transfer downstream of mixing vane in subchannel of nuclear reactor with three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations. SST model is selected as a turbulence closure by comparing the performances of two different turbulent closures. Three different shapes of mixing vane are tested. And, thermal-hydraulic performances of these vanes are discussed. The results show that twist of the vane improves the heat transfer performance far downstream of the vane.

가스화복합발전에서 Syngas 연료를 사용하는 가스터빈의 성능예측 (A Performance prediction of Gas Turbine using syngas fuel in IGCC)

  • IGCC(Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle) power plant are becoming more attractive because of fuel flexibility and low emission. In this study, performances are evaluated when the low caloric value syngas fuels producted in gasification process is used a gas turbine originally designed naturel gas fuel. Using GateCycle computational thermal analysis model, performances of GE 7FA gas turbine are predicted for using four types of syngas. Also, off design performance is presented for firing syngas fuel in the gas turbine.

표면특성이 다른 두 핀-관 열교환기의 착상 및 제상 성능 (The Frost and Defrost Performances of Fin-and-Tube Exchangers with Different Surface Characteristics)

  • The effects of different surface hydrophilicity on frosting and defrosting characteristic were experimentally investigated. Mass of frost and water hold-up was measured. Results showed that no significant difference in the frost mass was found between the two different surfaces while the water hold-up of heat exchanger court be reduced by the enhancement of surface hydrophilicity. Also, the defrosting efficiency m hydrophilic surface was improved by 76%. It was expected that hydrophilic heat exchanger could provide the improvements in both thermal-hydraulic performances and system reliability during frost/defrost operating in refrigeration systems.

Chromate-free Hybrid Coating for Corrosion Protection of Electrogalvanized Steel Sheets

  • Both electrogalvanized and hot-dip galvanized steel sheets have been finally produced via organic-inorganic surface coating process on the zinc surface to enhance corrosion resistance and afford additional functional properties. Recently, POSCO has been developed a variety of chromate-free coated steels that are widely used in household, construction and automotive applications. New organic-inorganic hybrid coating solutions as chromate alternatives are comprised of surface modified silicate with silane coupling agent and inorganic corrosion inhibitors as an aqueous formulation. In this paper we have prepared new type of hybrid coatings and evaluated quality performances such as corrosion resistance, spot weldability, thermal tolerance, and paint adhesion property etc. The electrogalvanized steels with these coating solutions exhibit good anti-corrosion property compared to those of chromate coated steels. Detailed components composition of coating solutions and experimental results suggest that strong binding between organic-inorganic hybrid coating layer and zinc surface plays a key role in the advanced quality performances.

Thermal-Hydraulic Aspects of an Advanced Reactor Core with Triangular Lattice Fuel Assemblies

  • Thermal-hydraulic performance has been analyzed for an advanced reactor core loaded with hexagonal fuel assemblies. Currently available CHF prediction models and data base for triangular lattice bundles have been thoroughly reviewed, and as a result the KfK-3 CHF correlation with limit CHFR of 1.235 has been determined to be most appropriate. The pressure drop model in COBRA-IV-I code has been modified for the analysis of triangular lattice rod bundles. In view of maximizing the thermal margin, the geometry of a hexagonal fuel assembly, such as rod diameter and rod pitch, has been optimized with a fixed fuel assembly cross sectional area The optimum value of the moderator-to-fuel volume ratio is estimated to lie between 0.65 to 1 with 9.5 mm rod diameter. The thermal margin of these hexagonal fuel assemblies in the AP600 core has been evaluated and compared with that of square lattice fuel assemblies such as VANTAGE-5H and KOFA. The analysis result shows that the performances of hexagonal fuel assemblies are more favorable than the square fuel assemblies in the aspect of steady-state overpower margin.
