  • This study was performed to examine how intrinsic acceptance for happenstance(IAH) affects evaluation of the means to achieve additional goals when the additional goals are happened to be added to the original means-goal link. Specifically, participants were asked to evaluate the effectiveness of means(e.g., exercise and saving) to achieve additional goals which are either more or less relevant to the means. The result showed that participants with high IAH were more likely to think that the original means is effective to accomplish additional goals than those with low IAH. This pattern, however, was found only when the additional goals are relevant to the means. When the relevance of the additional goals to the means was low, there was no difference in evaluation of the effectiveness of the means to achieve additional goals between participants with high and low IAH. Future research and implications of this study for goal-systems theory and intrinsic acceptance for happenstance were discussed.

  • The Purpose of this study is the applicaion of social network analysis for expanding the use of spatial data in local government. Spatial data generated from UIS projects play very important roles as a means of supporting decision making and solving complicated urban problems, but the utilization of the spatial data has not reach the expected level, considering to the huge amount of investment. Accordingly, there should be efforts in efficient management of spatial data, establishment of a sharing system, and expanded utilization of spatial data. Social network analysis applied to this research is a theory that explains the behaviors and patterns of units forming the system and measures distances between nodes, strength, etc. based on relations among nodes forming the network and the structural characteristics of the network. According to the results of surveying civil servants who were using spatial data on Busan Metropolitan City, obstacles to the sharing of spatial data were mostly non technical factors related to data users' attitude and their relations with circumstances. In order to expand the use of spatial data, this study performed social network analysis that applied the theory of planned behavior and examined the flow of spatial data, and by doing so, we analyzed related personnel's perception, identified obstacles to data sharing, and suggested a framework for promoting the expanded utilization of spatial data.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the factors determining users' acceptance of individualized virtual community. While there has been considerable research on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) that has predicted whether individuals will accept and voluntarily use information systems, limitations of the TAM include the omission of an important characteristics of individual construct in the context of individualized community. Based on literature relating to the theory of reasoned action (TRA), the theory of planned behavior (TPB) and the TAM, this study extends the applicability of the TAM in a individualized community context, by adding characteristics of individual-based construct ("subjective norm", "self-efficacy", "self-presentation" and "sharing information to exchange various information") to the model. Analysis was conducted on using the structural equation modeling approach. The result supports the extended TAM in predicting users' intentions to using personalized community. Several implications for IT/IS acceptance research and individualized community service management practices are discussed.

  • Purpose: In the present study, an analysis of the life of adolescents with complex congenital heart disease (CHD) was done using grounded theory. Consideration was given to the socio-cultural context of Korea. Methods: After approval from the institutional review board of Y hospital, 12 patients ranging in age from 14 to 35 were recruited. Data were gathered using in-depth interviews. Theoretical sampling was performed until the concepts were saturated. Results: The results confirmed the life of adolescents with complex CHD as a 'journey to finding uniqueness of oneself as a person with CHD'. The life consisted of 3 stages. In the crisis stage, participants had a feeling of threat to self-existence, and made an effort to be the same as others. In the self-recognition stage, participants who had sufficient role-performance built self-esteem while those who did not fell into self-accusation. In the self-establishment stage, participants who reached sufficiency in independence and knowledge planned the future, whereas those who did not conformed to the realities of life. Conclusion: The results of present study provide help in understanding the experiences of adolescents with CHD and provide a basis for developing nursing intervention strategies for these patients.

  • This paper aims to investigate the effect of the factors on the e-invoice at its infant stage of adoption in the context of Vietnam. Data were collected by using a questionnaire delivered to 318 participants who are managers and accountants of companies in Vietnam from June to September 2019. The statistical methods approaches are employed to address the research issues including Cronbach's Alpha testing, Explanatory Factor Analysis (EFA), and Confirmation Factor Analysis (CFA). Then, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is employed to assess the proposed hypotheses model of e-invoice adoption in Vietnam. The research findings showed that direct factors have a statistically significant impact on the e-invoice adoption towards behavior, and perceived behavioral control. Perceived usefulness and perceived ease-of-use positively affect attitude towards the behavior. These factors, in turn, are impacted by perceived compatibility. Based on the research results, some practicable suggestions are proposed in order to boost the number of Vietnamese enterprises voluntarily adopting e-invoice. This study indicates the important impacts of the user's attitude and perception about control ability on intention to use. In addition, some key intuitive recommendations were proposed aiming to improve the success of the e-invoice adoption of enterprises in the context of Vietnam.

  • The pregnancy experiences of unmarried mother threatens womens' health by social prejudices. This study was motivated by the fact that nurses do not have much understanding of the pregnancy experiences of unmarried mother and cannot provided fully supportive care of them. This study was done to understand the subjective expriences of pregnancy by unmarried mother. To do this, the grounded theory methodology was used. The research participants were selected from unmarried mothers admitted to the social welfare center in Korea. All interviewee were six and between 17 to 24 years old women. Their confidential information was insured. The data were analyzed in the framework of Grounded Theory methodology as mapped out by Strauss(l991). 21 concepts, 11 sub-category and 6 category were confirmed in the analysis. In the process of data analysis, 'sufferd pregnancy process' was founded to be the core phenomenon. In Conclusion, through their suffered pregnancy experiences, unmarried mothers had been a process to grow up, planned for the future and became a mature woman. This study supports the need to develop a role model for nurses in providing appropriate support to the unmarried mother, which will lead to an improvement in the physical and mental health of the unmarried mothers.

  • One of the concerns that have received substantial interest in the accounting field, in particular, in accounting education, is the increasing scarcity and demand for professional accountants around the globe. This study aims to investigate the effects of financial rewards (FR), parents' and peers' influence (PPIF), and benefits and cost (BCE) on students' intention to pursue a career in accounting. A quantitative, convenient random sampling approach was used, and an online survey was conducted to collect data from students studying in China. A total of 311 valid responses were used for model testing based on the theory of reasoned action and the theory of planned behavior. The findings of the study include the positive effects of FR, PPIF, and BCE on accounting career choice (ACC). This study illustrates that FR is the most dominant factor (β=0.479) for influencing ACC. Furthermore, the used factor explained 70% variation in ACC. The results of the study have implications both for accounting firms and universities whether offering or not offering accounting as a major. This study provides a global perspective, which keeps this study unique from other studies. And in this study, the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) has been used which is randomly used in accounting research.

  • The Saudi National Atomic Energy project aims to adopt peaceful nuclear technologies and be part of the country's energy mix. As emerging nuclear energy, it is essential to understand public concerns and acceptability of nuclear energy, as well as the factors influencing acceptance to develop nuclear energy policy and implement nuclear energy programs. The purpose of this study is to analyze the public attitudes and acceptance of nuclear energy among Saudi Arabian citizens by utilizing protection motivation theory and theory of planned behavior. A total of 1,404 participants answered a questionnaire which was distribute by convenience sampling approach. A Structural Equation Modeling framework was constructed and analyzed to understand public behavior toward building the country's first Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). Before analyzing the data, the model was validated. The research concluded that the benefits of nuclear power plants were essential in determining people's acceptance of NPPs. Surprisingly, the effect of the perceived benefits was found higher than the effect of the perceived risks to the acceptance. Furthermore, the public's participation in this study revealed that the NPPs location has a significant impact on their acceptance. Based on the finding, several policy implementations were suggested. Finally, the study's model results would benefit scholars, government agencies, and the business sector in Saudi Arabia and worldwide.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and test the structural model of a contraceptive behavior in Married Korean women. A hypothesis model was constructed on the basis of the health belief model, the theory of planned behavior and extensive literature review of contraception. The model was built by seven constructs. Four exogeneous variables included in the model were consisted of the contraceptive knowledges, the perceived threats, the sexual autonomy and the communication within a couple. Four endogenous variables were consisted of the attitudes toward contraception, the perceived control, the ability to plan a intercourse and the contraceptive behaviors. Empirical data for testing the hypothetical model were collected by the self report questionnaires from 243 Korean married women. The questionnaires used in this study were developed by this researcher and their Cronbach's alpha scores were ranged from .60 to .88. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS program(ver. 8.0) for descriptive statistical analysis and LISREL program(ver. 8.12a) for covariance structural analysis. On the basis of this results, it could be suggested that contraceptive behaviors be greatly affected by the perceived threats, the communications within couple, the attitudes toward contraception and the perceived control. Finally this model would be useful for the practice, theory and research of nursing.
