Single-Phase Self-Excited Induction Generator with Static VAR Compensator Voltage Regulation for Simple and Low Cost Stand-Alone Renewable Energy Utilizations Part II : Simulation and Experimental Results

  • In this paper, the power conditioner composed of the stand-alone single-phase squirrel cage rotor type self-excited induction generator (SEIG) driven by prime movers such as a wind turbine and a micro gas turbine (MGT) is presented by using the steady-state circuit analysis based on the two nodal admittance approaches using the per-unit frequency in addition to a new state variable defined by the per-unit slip frequency along with its performance evaluations for the stand-alone energy utilizations. The stande-alone single-phase SEIG operating performances in unregulated voltage control loop are then evaluated on line under the conditions of the speed change transients of the prime mover and the stand-alone electrical passive load power variations with the simple theoretical analysis and the efficient computation processing procedures described in the part I of this paper. In addition, a feasuible PI controlled feedback closed-loop voltage regulation scheme of the stande-alone single-phase SEIG is designed on the basis of the static VAR compensate. (SVC) and discussed in experiment for the promising stand-alone power conditioner. The experimental operating performance results are illustrated and give good agreements with the simulation ones. The simulation and experimental results of the stand-alone single-phase SEIG with the simple SVC controller for its stabilized voltage regulation prove the practical effectiveness of the additional SVC control loop scheme including the PI controller with fast response characteristics and steady-sate performance improvements.

시위 방향으로 비대칭 폐단면을 가지는 복합재료 얇은 벽 보의 와핑 함수 보정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Correction of the Warping Functions of Composite Thin-Walled Beams with a Chord wise Asymmetric Closed Cross-Section)

  • 이번 연구에서는 폐단면의 시위 방향으로 비대칭 형상을 가지는 복합재료 얇은 벽 보의 와핑 구속효과를 고려한 이론적 해석을 위하여 와핑 함수의 보정에 대한 여러 경우의 수에 대해 비교 연구 결과를 수행하고 그 결과를 제시하였다. 이를 위해 와핑 평형 조건을 만족하도록 1) 단면의 극점의 위치를 이동하지 않고 와핑 함수만을 보정한 경우, 2) 단면의 기존 극점을 이용하고 윤곽선의 형상 함수만을 수정하여 와핑 함수를 보정한 경우, 그리고 3) 단면의 극점의 위치를 이동하여 와핑 함수를 보정한 경우 등에 대해 각 단면의 특성을 서로 비교하였다. 그 결과 이번 연구에서 고려한 세 가지의 방법 가운데 케이스 2)의 경우가 나머지 다른 두 케이스보다 좀 더 연산이 빠르고 간편하게 와핑 함수를 유도할 수 있음을 밝혔다.

THE NEW HORIZON RUN COSMOLOGICAL N-BODY SIMULATIONS

  • We present two large cosmological N-body simulations, called Horizon Run 2 (HR2) and Horizon Run 3 (HR3), made using $6000^3$ = 216 billions and $7210^3$ = 374 billion particles, spanning a volume of $(7.200\;h^{-1}Gpc)^3$ and $(10.815\;h^{-1}Gpc)^3$, respectively. These simulations improve on our previous Horizon Run 1 (HR1) up to a factor of 4.4 in volume, and range from 2600 to over 8800 times the volume of the Millennium Run. In addition, they achieve a considerably finer mass resolution, down to $1.25{\times}10^{11}h^{-1}M_{\odot}$, allowing to resolve galaxy-size halos with mean particle separations of $1.2h^{-1}$Mpc and $1.5h^{-1}$Mpc, respectively. We have measured the power spectrum, correlation function, mass function and basic halo properties with percent level accuracy, and verified that they correctly reproduce the CDM theoretical expectations, in excellent agreement with linear perturbation theory. Our unprecedentedly large-volume N-body simulations can be used for a variety of studies in cosmology and astrophysics, ranging from large-scale structure topology, baryon acoustic oscillations, dark energy and the characterization of the expansion history of the Universe, till galaxy formation science - in connection with the new SDSS-III. To this end, we made a total of 35 all-sky mock surveys along the past light cone out to z = 0.7 (8 from the HR2 and 27 from the HR3), to simulate the BOSS geometry. 알루미늄합금의 반용융 단조 및 주조공정에 관한 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis on Semi-Solid Forging and Casting Process of Aluminum Alloys)

  • The behaviour of alloys in the semi-solid state strongly depends on the imposed stress state and on the morphology of the phase which can vary from dendritic to globular. To optimal net shape forging of semi-solid materials, it is important to investigate for filling phenomena in forging process of arbitrarily shaped dies. To produce a automotive part which has good mechanical property, the filling pattern according to die velocity and solid fraction distribution has to be estimated for arbitrarily shaped dies. Therefore, the estimation of filling characteristic in the forging simulation with arbitrarily shaped dies of semi-solid materials are calculated by finite element method with proposed algorithm. The proposed theoretical model and a various boundary conditions for arbitrarily shaped dies is investigated with the coupling calculation between the liquid phase flow and the solid phase deformation. The simulation process with arbitrarily shaped dies is performed to the isothermal conditions of two dimensional problems. To analysis of forging process by using semi-solid materials, a new stress-strain relationship is described, and forging analysis is performed by viscoelastic model for the solid phase and the Darcy's law for the liquid flow. The calculated results for forging force and filling limitations will be compared to experimental data. The filling simulation of simple products performed with the uniform billet temperature(584$^{\circ}C$) from the induction heating by the commercial package MAGMAsoft. The initial step of computation is the touching of semi-solid material with the end of die gate and the initial concept of proposed system just fit with the capability of MAGMAsoft.

국내 돼지오제스키병의 혈청학적 감시활동(surveillance)을 위한 표본크기 (Sample size for serological surveillance of Aujeszky's disease in Korea)

  • Serological surveillance programs in animal populations are becoming increasingly important to estimate prevalence of a specific disease and subsequently to document disease-free status in a region or a country. For these purposes, the programs need to be based on both theoretical and economical aspects from the designing phase. From Aujeszky's disease (AD)-eradication program point of view, group of animals (aggregates, herds) not individual animal is the more important sampling unit of concern. In this study the authors therefore attempted to compute an appropriate sample size tailored to a current surveillance program against AD, assuming that the goal of this program is either herd-level prevalence estimation or documentation of AD-freedom. For prevalence estimation, assuming a finite population with imperfect sensitivity (Se) and specificity (Sp) of ELISA kit for AD diagnosis, the number of herds present, expected herd prevalence, and desired accuracy for a certain level of confidence, sample size was estimated at herd-level in the first stage and individual animal-level in the second stage. A two-stage sampling design was used to calculate a sample size to indicate AD-freedom. In this instance, the computation was based on the possible detection of a predetermined prevalence at a certain herd-level Se and Sp. This study indicated that the sample size varied with predetermined confidence, tolerance, Se and Sp at herd- and animal-level, and within- and among-herd prevalence. In general, smaller sample size was required to estimate AD prevalence than to document of AD-freedom. Compared to individual-based samples, two-stage sampling strategy requires a larger sample size to show disease-freedom. Statistical considerations including herd-level test characteristics when designing surveillance program also are further discussed.

구속이 없는 축대칭 피어싱 공정의 유한요소해석 (Finite element analysis of unconstrained axisymmetric piercing)

  • 본 논문에서는 자유 표면과 강체부분이 많은 피어싱 공정의 해석에서 발생하 는 해의 수렴성 저하를 방지하기 위하여 비정상 상태의 가공경화 효과와 강체 연속처리 리방법을 프로그램 개발에 적용하고 프로그램 개발에 적용하고 프로그램 범용성을 높 이기 위해 초기 속도장 발생 프로그램을 개발하여 본 공정 해석에 적용하여 보려고 한 다. 또한 재료를 가공 경화를 고려한 강소성체(rigid-plastic material)로 가정해서 시편에 크랙이 발생하여 파괴될때까지 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 수행한 후 냉간 피어싱 공 정에 있어서 표면 크랙의 발생과 성장 그리고 파괴에 가장 많은 영향을 미치는 인자들 을 계산결과를 토대로 실험과 비교조사하고, 실험 시편의 지름과 높이 그리고 마찰상 태를 다르게 조합해서, 실험과 계산을 시하여 시편 모양에 따른 변형 모우드(mode)와 파괴 모우드의 차이를 규명해 보기로 한다.

동지나해의 해저마찰계수의 고찰 (SEASAT-ALT 자료의 응용) (A Study on Ocean Bottom Coupling Coefficient in East China Sea (a SEASAT-ALT Data Application))

  • 동수력학모형이 황해 및 동지나해의 SEASAT 고도계 해면자료를 분석하는데 이용되었다. SEASAT 운용기간중 이 해역에서 태풍이 발생한 7월 28일~8월2일, 8월18일~21일 기간이 고려되었다. 해양모형에 필요한 기상외력은 이론 및 경험적인 관련식으로부터 유도되었다. 시공적으로 큰 변화가 있는 이 해역의 해양조석을 산정하기 위해서 M$_2$, S$_2$, $K_1$$O_1$, 조석의 4개분조가 이용되었으며 지구조석의 영향도 고려되어 위성고도계자료와 통계적인 비교를 위해 시간종속적인 해면변화를 추정하여 해저마찰연구를 수행하였다. 10경우의 SEASAT 궤적으로부터 조사된 해저마찰계수는 0.0023~0.0027의 범위에 있었다.

이동 Ad-Hoc 네트워크 환경에 적합한 스트림 암호 HC-128의 부채널 안전성 분석 (Side-Channel Cryptanalysis on Stream Cipher HC-128 for Mobile Ad-Hoc Network Environments)

  • 최근 eSTREAM 공모사업에서 소프트웨어 분야로 최종 선정된 HC-128 알고리듬은 제한된 메모리 환경에서 고속 암호화가 가능하여 이동 ad-hoc 네트워크에 적합한 스트림 암호이다. 본 논문은 실제 구현되었을 때 발생할 수 있는 부채널 분석 공격에 대한 스트림 암호 HC-128 알고리듬의 안전성을 분석한다. 먼저 부채널 분석 공격에 대한 안전도가 낮은 것으로 판정하였던 기존 분석 방법의 누락된 부분을 밝히고, 올바른 분석 과정에서 필요한 계산 복잡도를 계산하여 HC-128 알고리듬의 부채널 분석 공격에 대한 안전성을 재평가하였다. 그 결과, 비밀키를 알아내기 위해서는 타 스트림 암호에 비해 훨씬 큰 약 $2^{64}$만큼의 복잡도가 필요하므로 스트림 암호 HC-128는 부채널 분석 공격에 안전한 것으로 평가된다.

전자파 수치 해석을 위해 갤러킨 기법과 보간법을 혼용하여 개선시킨 모멘트법 (Improved Method of Moments Using Hybrid Technique of Galerkin's and Interpolation Methods for Numerical Analysis of Electromagnetic Waves)

  • 본 논문에서는 3차원 공간의 전자파 수치 해석을 위한 모멘트법(method of moments)의 개선된 해석 기법을 선보인다. 전자파 산란 특성을 해석하기 위해 기본적으로 EFIE(Electric Field Integral Equation)와 RWG(Rao-Wilton-Glisson) 기저 함수를 이용하였으며, 계산 효율을 높이기 위해 기존의 갤러킨(Galerkin) 기법과 중심점 보간(interpolation)법을 혼용하여 해석 시간을 단축시켰다. 이때, 계산 정확도 유지를 위해 임피던스 행렬의 각 원소간 거리를 상대 거리 지수로 정의하여 보간법 적용이 가능한 먼 거리 원소를 구분하였다. 제안된 해석 기법의 성능 검증은 금속구의 Mie-series 해법을 이용한 이론적 RCS(Radar Cross Section)를 비교/분석하였다. 또한, 본 연구 결과를 삼면-/전방향- 전파반사기와 같은 산란체에 적용하여 레이더 후방 산란 특성을 분석하였다.

Displacement tracking of pre-deformed smart structures

  • This paper is concerned with the dynamics of hyperelastic solids and structures. We seek for a smart control actuation that produces a desired (prescribed) displacement field in the presence of transient imposed forces. In the literature, this problem is denoted as displacement tracking, or also as shape morphing problem. One talks about shape control, when the displacements to be tracked do vanish. In the present paper, it is assumed that the control actuation is provided by imposed eigenstrains, e.g., by the electric field in piezoelectric actuators, or by thermal actuators, or via analogous physical effects, such as magneto-striction or pre-stress. Structures with a controlled eigenstrain-type actuation belong to the class of smart structures. The action of the eigenstrains can be conveniently characterized by actuation stresses. Our theoretical derivations are performed in the framework of the theory of small incremental dynamic deformations superimposed upon a statically pre-deformed configuration of a hyperelastic solid or structure. We particularly ask for a distribution of incremental actuation stresses, such that the incremental displacements follow exactly a prescribed trajectory field, despite the imposed incremental forces are present. An exact solution of this problem is presented under the assumption that the actuation stresses can be tailored freely and applied everywhere within the body. Extending a Neumann-type solution strategy, it is shown that the actuation stresses due to the distributed control eigenstrains must satisfy certain quasi-static equilibrium conditions, where auxiliary body-forces and auxiliary surface tractions are to be taken into account. The latter auxiliary loading can be directly computed from the imposed forces and from the desired displacement field to be tracked. Hence, despite the problem is a dynamic one, a straightforward computation of proper actuator distributions can be obtained in the framework of quasi-static equilibrium conditions. Necessary conditions for the functioning of this concept are presented. Particularly, it must be required that the intermediate configuration is infinitesimally superstable. Previous results of our group for the case of shape control and displacement tracking in linear elastic structures are included as special cases. The high potential of the solution is demonstrated via Finite Element computations for an irregularly shaped four-corner plate in a state of plain strain.
