The stage manager role of "Our Town"(1938), a representative work of Thornton Wilder(1897-1975), is a unique theatrical device that presents a wide range of interesting and diverse perspectives in the actor's acting approach, the director's stage-shape methodology, and the audience's theater experience. Why did Wilder call stage manager role a stage manager, not just a simple narrator? Because "Our Town" intentionally lacks the basic elements that dramas must have, it needed a more self-reliant and omnipotent role in creating the margins of dramatic writing, including boldly omitted time and space, with infinite imagination. For this reason, stage manager role plays a much more complex and multi-functional role than a narrator. In response, this paper accurately articulates the concept of theatrical style and theatrical convention on the premise of the stage manager role in "Our Town," followed by making theatrical convention, the director of scene progress and scene change, the messenger of the writer's thoughts, and dramatic rhythm control.

With the development of hardware and 3D graphic technologies since the 1990s, video games have been evolving in the direction in which they wholly pursue illusions and movie formats, and thus they are considered to be media centered on spectacles. However, video games, due to their inherent characteristics, cannot be transparent media like the existing spectacular entertainments centering on optical illusions. In their structure, there can be found elements that continually disillusion players from visions. Strictly speaking, players are not lost in visions, but are kept a certain distance from internal contexts. Games rely not on illusion but on contracts with players which are similar to a kind of convention, clearing internal imperfections. This paper aims to identify and analyze disillusioning elements and discuss theatrical contacts between players and games. The purpose of this paper is to reconsider the awareness of video games as a spectacle entertainment and to help discover future directions for game culture.

All Korean professional engineer′s great joy Is to welcome the Japanese professional engineers and relevant guests to the 1987 Japan-Korea Professional Engineers Joint Convention organized by the Korean Professional Engineers Association. As there exists an effort of blood, sweat and tear behind a succeeded theatrical stage, so an exquisite devotion with drawing up a master plan, investigation, supervision and etc by engineering firms is soaked through every part of huge construction projects and large unit factory buildings. It is over 14 years that the Engineering Service Promotion Law has been enacted by the Ministry of Science and Technology. In the meantime, the domestic engineering (engineering service) have reached a remarkable higher level while the number of engineering firms participating in overseas market has gradually been increasing. From a small scale of under water investigation to a large scale planning of atomic reactor or petrochemical plant, engineering service business can be said "The Software of Total Industry." Engineering service is what is called a higher business which offers specialized engineering know-how and experience. Engineering service compaines offer Its specialized knowledge and experience to government, industry and commerce. Whether the task is to modernize plant equipment, to design a building or to manage construction, an engineering company will develop and implement the most appropriate and cost effective solution. Clients use the engineering service of firm knowing that the engineer′s professional judgement is not influenced or biased by other commercial affiliations. While benefiting from the diverse experience that professional engineers can apply to a specific problem, government and industry also reduce the need for permanent in-house engineering staff. Engineering firms may be specialized or multi-disciplinary.
