  • This paper is concerned with the global rupture of a nuclear reactor pressure vessel(RPV) in a severe accident. During the severe reactor accident of molten core, the temperature and the pressure in the nuclear reactor rise to a certain level depending on the initial and subsequent condition of a severe accident. While the rise of the temperature cause the thermal softening of RPV material, the rise of the internal pressure could cause failure of the RPV lower head. The global rupture of an RPV is simulated by finite element limit analysis for the collapse pressure and mode and this analysis results have been compared with a variation of the internal pressure of RPV. The finite element limit method is a systematic tool to secure the safety criteria of a nuclear reactor and to evaluate the in-vessel corium retention.

승객용 승강기의 재해예방에 관한 연구 (Accident Prevention Counterplen of the Elevator for the Passenger)

  • Recently the car and elevator accidents as well as the fire, explosion and collapse increased. The passenger elevator accident from 1993 year to 2001 year has about 56.7% of total accidents and the human victims of 180 according to the Korea Elevator Safety Institute. Accident cause and prevention were investigated for the elevator having the fall, impact and narrowness accident types. The prevention and protection methods of the elevator accident from analysis results were suggested by comparing and analogizing the accident statistics about the accident investigation of the passenger elevator according to the elevator accidents.

  • 무인타워크레인의 운전자격 취득이 쉬워지고 불법개조가 늘어나며 소규모 건설현장에서도 무인타워크레인이 점차 활용되고 있다. 그러나 운전경험이 부족한 타워크레인 운전자의 문제가 커지면서 안전사고도 늘고 작업자도 사고위험에 노출되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 무인타워크레인 사고를 분석하여 사고 원인을 도출하였다. 그 후, 사고 원인의 중요도를 도출하기 위해 AHP 기법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 무인타워크레인을 사용하는 사업자와 건설 노동자들이 작업 규칙을 따르지 않는다는 것이다.

  • 건설산업에서의 안전 수준 향상 노력에도 불구하고, 건설산업은 타 산업에 비해 높은 사망자수를 보이고 있다. 이러한 높은 사고율은 건설산업의 안전관리 측면에서 효과적인 대책이 필요함을 명확히 의미한다. 기존의 연구에서 주장하듯, 사고의 발생 가능성이 높은 공종이나 기인물을 파악하고 이에 적합한 안전대책을 세우는 것이 중요하다. 다수의 추락관련 건설재해가 작업발판 및 안전통로에서 발생한다는 점을 고려해보면, 안전관리 측면에서 가시설물을 중점적으로 다루어야 할 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는, 작업발판 및 안전통로와 관련된 6개년 1663개의 사망사고를 공사규모, 공정률, 공종, 직종에 의해 분류하고, 각 사망재해가 발생한 사례들을 분석함으로써 보다 중점적으로 관리되어야할 요소를 추출하였다.

  • The ratio of Industrial Accident in Korea has been inclined to decrease for recent ten years since industrialization beginnings of Korea. But it is still in high level viewed from international comparison. Up to now, we depended on classical method Accident as the phenomenical and inductive result. And we searched for the counter plan in the basis of the result by this method. But, in this research, we analyzed the distinctions which the structure of the occurrence of Industrial Accident using new model in order to approach the cause of Industrial accident of Korea more basically. In this new model, I am going to arrange the controllable variables in the factors of Industrial Accident and to analyze the effect of these controllable variables in the structure of Industrial Accident.

동물원 영장류에서 외인성 질환에 의한 폐사원인 분석 (Retrospective Survey on the Mortality by Extrinsic Disease in Non-human Primates at Zoological Gardens)

  • In Everland Zoological Gardens, the mortality by extrinsic cause in non-human primates during 1976∼1999 were retrospectively analyzed based on the clinical charts and/or autopsy reports. The number of deaths from extrinsic factor was 61 among a total of 161 monkeys which were died during that period. Among 61 monkeys of death from extrinsic factor, the number at a detailed cause were as follows: strangulation, 17(27.87%); accident fall, 15(24.59%); suffocation, 13(21.31%); drowning, 7(11.48%); death from pressure, 2(3.28%); collision, 2(3.28%); sunstroke, 1(64%); starvation, 1(1.64%); freezing to death, 1(1.64%); contusion, 1(1.64%). The number of deaths from extrinsic factor was 39 among a total of 81 squirrel monkeys which were died during that period. Among 39 squirrel monkeys of death from extrinsic factor, the number at a detailed cause were as follows; suffocation, 11(28.21%); accident fall, 8(20.51%); strangulation, 7(17.95%); drowning, 7(17.95%); death from pressure, 2(5.13%); starvation, 1(2.56%); collision, 1(2.56%). The number of deaths from extrinsic factor was 14 among a total of 50 Japanese macaque died during that period. Among 14 Japanese macaque from extrinsic factor, the number at a detailed cause were as follows; strangulation, 7(50.55%); accident fall, 6(42.85%); suffocation, 1(7.14%). It was considered that far facilities, adequate space and suitable indoor temperature are needed for the prevention of deaths of extrinsic cause at the monkey raising in zoological gardens or research center.

해빙기 가스사고분석 및 사고예방 대책 제시 (Gas Accident Analysis and Suggestion of Countermeasure at Thawing Season)

  • 연료가스의 사용이 늘어남에 따라 이로 인한 가스사고를 적절하게 관리할 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 최근 4년 동안 발생했던 사고를 체계적으로 분석하여 사고 발생에 영향을 미치는 주된 요인을 찾아내고 이를 사고감소 대책을 제시하는데 활용한다. 해빙기는 연평균 치보다 사고발생비율이 높아 상대적으로 취약한 기간으로 분석되었다. 동 기간동안 LPG(Liquefied petroleum gas) 사고는 연 평균치와 비슷하나 전체적으로 차지하는 비중이 높으며 원인별로는 사용자취급부주의에 의한 사고와 제품불량 혹은 시설미비에 의한 사고가 많아 이에 대한 대책이 시급한 것으로 나타났다. 동 기간동안 도시가스사고는 연 평균치보다 높아 전반적으로 주의 깊게 관리할 필요가 있으며 특히 원인별로 시설미비로 인한 사고 및 타공사로 인한 사고가 비중이 높았다. 비중이 높은 사고나 연 평균치보다 사고비율이 높은 사고에 대해 이를 저감할 수 있는 대책을 제안하였다.

  • Identification of the cause of electrically related fire accident may be approached either by studying accident related electric properties or by investigating power instruments at the site of the accident. In the present paper, the former approach is taken especially on investigating the consequences of excessive current induced by electric short circuiting of high power instruments which is reported as the primary cause electricity related fire accidents. In order to provide reliability of the identification method, microscopic photograph's are taken for the cross sections of the electric wires after being exposed to over current and heated by external means, respectively The results are consequently compared and analysed.

The Gender Difference in the Occupational Hazards and Injuries of Cleaning Workers and Janitors

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to analyze the accident characteristics according to the gender of the injured workers in building cleaning and to reflect them in the Industrial Accident Prevention Policy. Background: An analysis of industrial accidents is an essential process for establishing systematic industrial accident prevention measures. In order to establish industrial accident prevention measures for workers effectively, it is necessary to analyze accident characteristics by job type for workers who do the same work. Method: In this study, we analyzed the accident characteristics of 1,645 janitors who were approved of work-related injuries in 2015. We also analyzed the characteristics according to gender by dividing them into worker-related factors and accident-related factors. Results: The accidents caused to the janitors showed different characteristics according to gender, age, work experience, agency of accident, and distribution of original cause materials. In other words, 70.2% occurred to workers over 60 years old and 56.2% occurred to unskilled workers with less than a year of work experience. In the case of accident pattern, 79.1% occurred in tripping (slip) hazards, and 68.2% of accidents occurred on the floor (including the ground) and the stairs, indicating that the accident occurred most frequently during cleaning work on the floor or stairs. Conclusion and Application: The results of the study on the accident characteristics of the janitors can be used as basic data for systematic preventive measures against accidents occurring to the elderly female workers in the service industry.
