  • The purpose of this study was to find out how tennis participants' participation affects their optimism and aggression. A total of 249 (male: 163, female: 86) subjects were studied. The Revised Life Orientation Test (LOT-R) developed by Scheier, Carver, and Bridges (1994) was used as an optimism test, and the Aggression Questionnaire developed by Buss and Perry (1992) was used as an aggressiveness test. As data analysis methods, one-sample t-test, Pearson's correlation analysis, and simple regression analysis were performed. As a result, first, those who participate in tennis were more optimistic than those who do not. Second, those who participate in tennis were less aggressive than those who do not. Third, optimism affects physical aggression, anger and hostility negatively

  • Background: We aimed to determine whether routine second trimester complete blood cell (CBC) count parameters, including neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), lymphocyte-monocyte ratio (LMR), and platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), could predict obstetric outcomes. Methods: We included singleton pregnancies for which the 50-g oral glucose tolerance test and CBC were routinely performed between 24 and 28 weeks of gestation in our outpatient clinic from January 2015 to December 2017. The subjects were divided into three groups according to their pregnancy outcomes as follows: group 1, spontaneous preterm births, including preterm labor and preterm premature rupture of membranes; group 2, indicated preterm birth due to maternal, fetal, or placental causes (hypertensive disorder, fetal growth restriction, or placental abruption); and group 3, term deliveries, regardless of the indication of delivery. We compared the CBC parameters using a bivariate correlation test. Results: The study included 356 pregnancies. Twenty-eight subjects were in group 1, 20 in group 2, and 308 in group 3. There were no significant differences between the three groups in neutrophil, monocyte, lymphocyte, and platelet counts. Although there was no significant difference in NLR, LMR, and PLR between the three groups, LMR showed a negative correlation with gestational age at delivery (r =-0.126, p =0.016). Conclusion: We found that a higher LMR in the second trimester was associated with decreased gestational age at delivery. CBC parameters in the second trimester of pregnancy could be used to predict adverse obstetric outcomes.

  • To perform a cryogenic development test for Tribo-elements in a turbopump, a cryogenic bearing and seal test facility (BSTF) is designed and currently under construction in KARI. The working fluid is liquid nitrogen operating at a temperature $-197^{\circ}C$. The maximum operating pressure and volume flow rate of BSTF are 100 bar and 10 liters per second, respectively. The development tests of floating ring seals, inter-propellant seals (IPS) and cryogenic ball bearings in a turbopump will be performed using the BSTF. This paper briefly described design requirements and procedures of BSTF.

  • This paper introduces the development process of NCC(New Concrete Cutting) system and analyzes first verification test. Based on the first verification test results, some problems of NCC system have been newly modified. We carry out the second verification test. We tried to verify cutting performance and dust control efficiency of NCC system through the cutting test of concrete bridge piers. In particular, this verification test strives to solve the problem of concrete dust, which is the biggest problem of dry cutting method. The remaining dust problems in cutting section tried to solve through this verification test. This verification test of the NCC system shows that the dust problem of dry cutting method is closely controlled and solved. In conclusion, the proposed NCC method is superior to the dry cutting method in all aspects, including cutting performance, dust vacuum efficiency and cooling effect. The proposed NCC system is believed to be able to provide eco-friendly cutting technology to various industries, such as the removal of the SOC structures and the dismantling of nuclear plants, which have recently become a hot issue in the field of concrete cutting.

  • Objectives : It is sure that standardization of medical instruments is very important and necessary. Cupping therapy is one of the traditional oriental medical method, and it is necessary to set up a standard of cupping therapy and instruments. Methods : We select 3 major cupping instrument makers according to a questionnaire survey of 2001 oriental medical doctors. Dae Gun is A maker, Han Sol is B maker, Dong Bang is C maker. And with these air pumps we make experiments on stability by an inner impact test and a falling test. With these cups we check stability by an inner impact test and a disinfection test. And to know function of these instruments we test a negative pressure and maintain attached cups until 5 to 10minutes. Results : All results of experiments(impacted test, disinfection test, falling test) on stability of cups and air pumps are suitable for medical instrument. And the efficiency of 3 major makers shows various results. Negative pressure of B group is the highest, C group is the second, A group is the lowest. Pressure maintenance test shows A and C group is comparatively up to the experimental standard(<10%), B group is comparatively below the experimental standard(<10%). Conclusions : Results show stability of cups and air pumps is suitable for medical instruments. And negative pressure of cupping and maintenance of pressure show various results. So it is necessary to set up a standard negative pressure of cupping and maintenance of pressure.

  • This study aims to analyze the relationship of e-HRM implementation to employee performance both directly and indirectly through the intervening of the Human Resource service Quality variable, both practically and theoretically. This study uses variance-based structural equation modeling (SEM) techniques with partial least square (PLS) statistical testing tools to test the direct relationship of e-HRM and the performance and relationship moderated by Human Resources service quality tested on 200 civil servants in five offices under the coordination of the Government of the South Sulawesi Province of Indonesia. The data collection model in this study uses an online survey. The data analysis stages through the explanatory concept consist of, first, the interpretation of the distribution of the average frequency of respondents' answers; second, outer-loading; third, determination of the validity and reliability; fourth, the coefficient of determination test and partial test; fifth, the GoF model; sixth, validity test; and seventh, hypothesis testing. This study explores four hypotheses in a comprehensive fashion; the results of this study show that all hypotheses have positive and significant effects both through direct and intervening relationships. Among the three direct relationships, the relationship of e-HRM variables on HR Service Quality is greatest and most dominant.

  • PURPOSE. This study evaluated the effect of chemical surface treatment using methyl formate-methyl acetate (MF-MA) solution on the tensile bond strength between acrylic denture teeth and auto-polymerized acrylic resin. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Seventy maxillary central incisor acrylic denture teeth for each of three different brands (Yamahachi New Ace; Major Dent; Cosmo HXL) were embedded with incisal edge downwards in auto-polymerized resin in polyethylene pipes and ground with silicone carbide paper on their ridge lap surfaces. The teeth of each brand were divided into seven groups (n=10): no surface treatment (control group), MF-MA solution at a ratio of 25:75 (v/v) for 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds, 120 seconds, 180 seconds, and MMA for 180 seconds. Auto-polymerized acrylic resin (Unifast Trad) was applied to the ground surface and polymerized in a pressure cooker. A tensile strength test was performed with a universal testing machine. Statistical analysis of the results was performed using two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and post-hoc Dunnett T3 test (${\alpha}$=.05). RESULTS. The surface treatment groups had significantly higher mean tensile bond strengths compared with the control group (P<.05) when compared within the same brand. Among the surface treatment groups of each brand, there were no significantly different tensile bond strengths between the MF-MA groups and the MMA 180 second group (P>.05), except for the Yamahachi New Ace MF-MA 180-second group (P<.05). CONCLUSION. 15-second MF-MA solution can be an alternative chemical surface treatment for repairing a denture base and rebonding acrylic denture teeth with auto-polymerized acrylic resin, for both conventional and cross-linked teeth.

  • This paper discusses the hydrodynamic characteristics of a catamaran at low speed. In this study, the Delft 372 catamaran model was selected as the target hull to analyze the hydrodynamic characteristics by using the RANS (Reynold-Averaged Navier-Stokes) numerical method. First, the turbulence study and mesh independent study were conducted to select the appropriate method for numerical calculation. The numerical method for the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) calculation was verified by comparing the hydrodynamic force with that obtained experimentally at high speed condition and it rendered a good agreement. Second, the virtual captive model test for a catamaran at low speed was conducted using the verified method. The drift test with drift angle 0-180 degrees was performed and the resulting hydrodynamic forces were compared with the trends of other ship types. Also, the pure rotating test and yaw rotating test proposed by Takashina, (1986) were conducted. The Fourier coefficients obtained from the measured hydrodynamic force were compared with those of other ship types. Conversely, pure sway test and pure yaw test also were simulated to obtain added mass coefficients. By analyzing these results, the hydrodynamic coefficients of the catamaran at low speed were estimated. Finally, the maneuvering simulation in low speed conditions was performed by using the estimated hydrodynamic coefficients.

  • The difference threshold test (DTT) declares erasures whenever the difference between the largest and second largest energy detector outputs does not exceed a given threshold. we show that the DTT outperforms the ratio threshold test (RTT) for finite modulation size and diversity order in the detection of M-FSK signals. The asymptotic performance for infinite modulation size and diversity order is then investigated. It is shown that the minimum signal-to-noise ratio required to achieve error-free communication for the DTT is the same as that for the RTT.
