It's not easy to renew old brand of over 50 years history to the tastes of new consumer of our time. Most of national brands that has a history of some 20 years in Korea have strove for continuation and growth of brand to no avails, which can be taken as a good example of current situation. For instance, C company, one of the National brand of US which has a history of 51 years, has made its position secure as a fashion group and based itself on a sound foundation by establishing new marketing strategy and completing successful brand renewal in the process of strategic M&A with Italian company. Those successful marketing strategies are as follows. 1) they regarded both market and consumer oriented marketing activity as company's highest priority strategy and put great emphasis upon concentration on target market and reestablishment of brand image of business casual wear. 2) Setting up and operating planning team composed of merchandizer alone in Milano, they set the direction of plan on the basis of concentrated research on potential item in market according to thorough market research done by buying office in Korea, branch office in Hong Kong and buyer in US prior to blueprint planning for season. 3) Great emphasis was placed on business which focused on intensive presentation of basic key item for apparel career women who are main consumer group in the midium-low prices market in US and on supplementation of size and color. they named this line 'collectibles' and helped their customer develop their own clothes plan without worrying about the change of color and fabric by supporting same fabric and color throughout the year and enabled them to add variation easily by supplementing new trend item. 4) Company set black as a main color that lots of apparel career women find easy to care and to express their own image and presented them with pebble which belongs to navy and beige and added fashion color such as wine and brown etc as season goes by. They constructed basic line in order for their customers to coordinate purchased item with new one or to add them to present collection, and to achieve efficient sale by setting up strategy which allows this cross coordination and changing pattern occasionally. 5) Though basic jacket for 99$, short slim skirt for 49$ are products within midium-low prices range, in the material planning stage aiming at production of item that has both resonable function appealing to consumer and is fashionable, synthetic material had to be used as a main source due to price competitiveness. Despite this situation, considering comfortable sense of fit and refined drape of silhouette that has no sign of cheap material, whole collectible line was divided into two items, which contributed to reduction of cost. In case of material that is composed of triacetate and polyester in 70 to 30 ratio, was used up to 4 million yard, which allowed drastic curtailment of cost accompanied by concentration. In case of 'collectibles' line, using Korean material mainly, C company chose to have their product sewed in Southeast Asian countries where transportation is well developed and both productivity and quality verified by operating global production system which aiming at cutdown of cost through outsourcing production from the country where labor cost is low and getting finished product. Polarization between present consumers telling us that consumers with the mind of middle classes in the past no longer exists between consumers who seek after only fine article of highest quality and wise consumers who are sensible enough to judge bubble on correlation between price and quality. To cope with this change in new consumer mind, apparel makes changing their policy so as to produce item that has reasonable quality and falls within affordable price range anywhere in the world. and they're striving to get out of difficult situation by operating global marketing strategy which stresses separation of planning, production and sale and sensibility of fashion shared worldwide. The marketing strategy of C company can be exemplified as a successful one.

In this study, cotton fabrics were coated with $TiO_2$ nanoparticles using 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane(3-MPTMS), which is highly reactive to cotton fabrics, as a medium, and the characteristics, antimicrobial properties, and photodegradation properties of the fibers were measured. The manufacturing process is as follows. (1) 3-MPTMS was added to isopropanol, and $TiO_2$ colloid was added to the mixture to prepare a solution. (2) Cellulose fibers were immersed in the prepared $3-MPTMS/TiO_2$ solution, stirred for 90 minutes at $45^{\circ}C$ in a constant temperature water bath, and dried thereafter. In order to identify the morphology of the cellulose fibers coated with $TiO_2$ nanoparticles, the surface was observed with a scanning electron microscope(SEM), and SEM-EDS was measured to identify the adhesion of $TiO_2$ nanoparticles. The SEM images showed $TiO_2$ nanoparticle and 3-MPTMS coated layers on the fibers and it was identified that $TiO_2$ nanoparticles were attached to the cellulose fibers. The antimicrobial activity of $3-MPTMS/TiO_2$-treated cotton fabrics was measured using a bacterial reduction method. $3-MPTMS/TiO_2$ cellulose fibers which was irradiated by ultra violet light, showed antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli(ATCC 43895) and Staphylococcus aureus(ATCCBAA-1707) unlike unirradiated fibers. The cellulose fibers were stained with methylene blue and the photodegradation performance of the stained fabrics was analyzed. The stained fabrics showed high degradation performance with photolytic reactions of $TiO_2$ nanoparticles.
Rutin (R) exhibits a wide range of biological activities including anticarcinogenic, antiinflammatory and antiviral actions. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of rutin concentrations (1 and 3 wt%) on the antibacterial activity of poly(3-hydroxybutylate-co-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) scaffolds. Antibacterial activity was evaluated by using Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Furthermore, the qualitative ongrowth of human KB endothelial cells was done to study in vitro cytotoxicity of the scaffolds. As the results, PHBV scaffolds containing 3 wt% rutin completely inhibited the proliferation of Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae. In addition, the PHBV/R scaffolds used in this study did not show any cytotoxicity when evaluated them with KB endothelial cells.
In this study, effluent water was produced through Submerged Membrane Bio-Reactor(SMBR) process, which is a simple system and decomposes organic matter contained in wastewater with biological treatment process and performs solid-liquid separation, Especially, ozone oxidation treatment process is applied to effluent water containing fluorescent whitening agent, which is a trace pollutant which is not removed by biological treatment, and influences the quality of reused water. The concentration of $COD_{Cr}$ in the SMBR was $449.3mg/{\ell}-COD_{Cr}$, and the concentration of permeate water was $100.3mg/{\ell}-COD_{Cr}$. The removal efficiency was about 70.1%. The amount of ozone required for the removal of the fluorescent whitening agent in the permeated water in SMBR was $6.67g-O_3/min$, and the amount of ozone required to remove $COD_{Mn}$ relative to the permeate water was calculated to remove $0.997mg-COD_{Mn}$ for 1mg of $O_3$.

We investigated the separation of nitrogen heterocyclic compound (NHC) contained in a model coal tar fraction comprising four kinds of NHC [indole (In), quinoline (Q), iso-quinoline (iQ), quinaldine (Qu)], three kinds of bicyclic aromatic compound (BAC) [1-methylnaphthalene (1MN), 2-methylnaphthalene (2MN), dimethylnaphthalene (DMN) mixture with ten structural isomers (DMNs; regarded as one component)], biphenyl (Bp) and phenyl ether (Pe) by liquid membrane permeation (LMP). A batch-stirred tank was used as the permeation unit. An aqueous solution of saponin and n-hexane were used as the liquid membrane and the outer oil phase, respectively. Yield and selectivity of individual NHC was much larger than that of BAC, Bp and Pe. Increasing the initial mass fraction of the saponin to the membrane solution ($C_{sap,0}$) and the initial volume fraction of O/W emulsion to total liquid in a stirred tank (${\phi}_{OW,0}$) resulted in deteriorating the yield of individual NHC, but increasing the stirring speed (N) resulted in improving the yield of each NHC. With increasing $C_{sap,0}$, the selectivity of each NHC based on DMNs increased. Increasing ${\phi}_{OW,0}$ and N resulted in decreasing the selectivity of individual NHC based on DMNs. At an experimental condition fixed, the sequence of the yield and selectivity in reference to DMNs for each NHC was Q > Qu = iQ > In. Furthermore, we compared LPM method with methanol extraction method in view of the separation efficiency (yield, selectivity) of NHC.
The purpose of this study, the purpose of this study is to activate the antibacterial effect on the Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride film by using Octadecyldimethyl (3-triethoxy silylpropyl) ammonium chloride antibacterial agent with Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride polymer, which is inexpensive and has excellent properties such as heat resistance and chemical resistance. The Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride polymer was dissolved in a dimethylacetamide solvent, and film samples were prepared by varying the ratio of Octadecyldimethyl (3-triethoxy silylpropyl) ammonium chloride to study the antibacterial performance. A Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometer and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were employed to confirm the elements in the samples. According to the initial decomposition temperature of the Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride film and the Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride/Octadecyldimet hyl (3-triethoxy silylpropyl) ammonium chloride(10%) film using a Thermogravimetric analyzer(TA-DTA), it was confirmed that the initial decomposition temperature was lowered due to the influence of Octadecyldimethyl (3-triethoxy silylpropyl) ammonium chloride. In addition, in order to measure the mechanical properties, Universal testing machine was used and the result showed that a strength of Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride/Octadecyldimethyl (3-triethoxy silylpropyl) ammonium chloride(10%) was 36.8 MPa. The antimicrobial properties of the Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride/Octadecyldimethyl (3-triethoxy silylpropyl) ammonium chloride(10%) film showed 99.9% antimicrobial properties.
The separation of indole from a model mixture comprising four kinds of nitrogen heterocyclic compounds [indole (In), quinoline (Q), iso-quinoline (iQ), quinaldine (Qu)], three kinds of bicyclic aromatic compounds [1-methylnaphthalene (1MN), 2-methylnaphthalene (2MN), dimethylnaphthalene (DMN)], biphenyl (Bp) and phenyl ether (Pe) was examined by batch cocurrent 4 stages equilibrium extraction. The model mixture used as a raw material in this work was prepared according to the components and compositions contained in coal tar fraction (the temperature ranges of fraction: $240{\sim}265^{\circ}C$). An aqueous solution of formamide was used as a solvent. Indole was recovered more than 99% through 4 stages of the equilibrium extraction. The range of selectivity of indole in reference to DMN obtained through the 5 stages equilibrium extraction was found to be 63~118. The process for separation and recovery of indole contained in coal tar was studied by using the experimental results obtained from this work and the previous work.
Electrospinning is a versatile process used to prepare micro or nano sized fibers from various materials dissolved in volatile solvents. This study reports electrospun pullulan fibrous webs fabricated through electrospinning using water as a solvent. The electrospinning conditions such as pullulan (PUL) concentration and applied voltage were optimized in order to obtain smooth electrospun fibers. The concentration of PUL greatly influenced the viscosity and surface tension of PUL solution. PUL beaded electrospun fibers were obtained from PUL solutions with concentrations lower than 5 wt%, while homogenous electrospun fibers were prepared from solutions with high concentration and high viscosity. The average diameters of PUL fibers were decreased to 200 nm when the polymer concentration was kept at 10 wt% and the applied voltage was fixed at 15 kV during electrospinning. PUL electrospun fiber exhibited higher solubility, flexibility, softness and adhesive strength.
UV irradiated acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives(PSAs) are prepared to be used for thermal pad in plasma display panel(PDP). The effect of the chemical structure of side-chain in comonomer and of crosslinking agent on wet-out property of acrylic PSAs in wide temperature range were investigated. The correlationship between viscoelastic behavior and adhesion properties, such as tack and peel strength, was also studied. The experimental results supported that wet-out and adhesion properties of acrylic PSAs were enhanced inversely proportional to side-chain length of comonomer in wide temperature range. The peel energy clearly increased in acrylic PSAs prepared by using di(ethylene glycol) dimethylacrylate (DEGDMA) for crosslinking agent. The results might be due to the difference in the glass transition temperature and viscoelastic behavior of acrylic PSAs.

This study aims to examine the college students experience and intention to purchase organic clothes according to their lifestyle as the most promising consumer class in future. First, it was found that their experience to purchase organic clothes according to the subjects demographic characteristics showed significant differences in the categories of gender, age, related major, pocket money and income from except their residential areas. Second, factor structure analysis of their lifestyles was conducted and the factors analyzed were divided into "well-being orientation", "pursuit of changes", "eco-friendly view", "trend innovation", and "conservative security". Third, the present study examined differences in sub-dimensions of lifestyle characteristics such as "well-being orientation", "pursuit of changes", "eco-friendly view", "trend innovation", and "conservative security" depending on their experience or non-experience to purchase organic clothes and found that "well-being orientation", "pursuit of changes", "eco-friendly view", and "trend innovation" were higher in the group with experience to purchase organic clothes than in that with non-experience and it was known that all sub-factor groups including "well-being orientation", "pursuit of changes", "eco-friendly view", "trend innovation", and "conservative security" had a significant influence on intnetion to purchase organic clothes.
