  • The TEXAS-V code tuned for TROI-13 was used for analyzing the parametric findings in TROI experiments. The calculations on the melt composition are relatively similar to the TROI experimental results. The water depth effect in TEXAS-V code seems to be consistent with TROI experiments in some degree. The water area effect of TEXAS-V calculations seems not to be harmonious to that in TROI experiments. This seems to indicate that TEXAS-V as 1-dimensional code or as the numerical steam explosion has a limitation on estimating area effect. Thus, TEXAS-V tuned for TROI-13 seems to have an ability to estimate the parametric effect of TROI experiments. The evaluated TEXAS-V was used for estimating the ex-vessel steam explosion load. The calculated explosion pressure and load were about 40 MPa and 75 kPa.sec, which are not much threatening level for containment integrity, but are arguable value for the integrity.

  • Step and Flash Imprint Lithography is an interesting low cost alternative to traditional microlithographic processes that offers the ability to efficiently produce nanostructures at unprecedented resolution. New photopolymerizable formulations are required to enable this process. This paper will describe progress in the design and development of acrylate and vinyl ether based platforms for this application together with efforts to prepare photopolymerizable, thermally stable, magterials with low dielectric constants for use in an efficient new method for fabricating the interconnect structures in microprocessors.

  • In this paper, we propose a framework for the real-time monitoring of wireless biosensors. This is a scalable platform that requires minimum human interaction during set-up and monitoring. Its main components include a biosensor, a smart gateway to automatically set up the body area network, a mechanism for delivering data to an Internet monitoring server, and automatic data collection, profiling and feature extraction from bio-potentials. Such a system could increase the quality of life and significantly lower healthcare costs for everyone in general, and for the elderly and those with disabilities in particular.
