초등학생용 공간 시각화 검사지 개발 및 표준화 (Development and Validation of Spatial Visualization Tests for Elementary School Children)

  • 본 연구는 초등학생용 공간시각화 검사지를 개발하고 표준화하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 총 24문항으로 구성된 초등학생용 공간시각화 검사지를 개발하였으며, 초등학생 1482명을 대상으로 검사를 실시하여 신뢰도와 타당도를 분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학생용 공간시각화 검사지의 문항내적일관성 신뢰도는 Cronbach's ${\alpha}$=.794로 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 검사지의 24문항에 대한 타당도를 검증하기 위하여 확인적 요인분석을 한 결과, 검사지의 타당도가 양호한 것으로 판단되었다. 셋째, 검사지 24문항에 대한 문항난이도는 .200에서부터 .886으로 나타났으며, 평균 문항난이도는 .544인 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구 결과로 볼 때, 본 연구에서 개발한 초등학생용 공간시각화 검사지는 신뢰도와 타당도를 확보한 것으로 보이므로, 초등학생들의 공간시각화 능력을 측정하는데 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

잠자리 유형 날개에 대한 흐름 가시화 (Flow Visualization for a Dragonfly Type Wing)

  • Flow visualization experiments have been performed to investigate the effects of phase lag, reduced frequency qualitatively by examining wake pattern on a dragonfly type wing. The model was built with a scaled-up, flapping wings, composed of paired wings with fore- and hindwing in tandem, that mimicked the wing form of a dragonfly. The present study was conducted by using the smoke-wire technique, and an electronic device was mounted to find the exact positional angle of wing below the tandem wings, which amplitude is ranged from $-16.5^{\circ}$ to $+22.8^{\circ}$. Phase lag applied on the wings is $0^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, $180^{\circ}$ and $270^{\circ}$. The reduced frequency is 0.15, 0.3 and 0.45 to investigate the effect of reduced frequency. It is inferred through observed wake pattern that the phase lag clearly plays an important role in the wake structures and in the flight efficiency as changing the interaction of wings. The reduced frequency also is closely related to wake pattern and determines flight efficiency.

  • Hard disk drives (HDD) in computer are used extensively as data storage capacity. PIV measurement system was used fur 2-dimensional visualization of the unsteady flow between co-rotating disks in air both with a shroud and both with a actual-like case. Geometric parameters are gap height (H) between disks in the case of shroud. The lobe- structured boundary between inner region and outer region was visualized, and the number of dominant vertices was determined clearly. It is found from flow visualization that the number of vortex cells can be correlated with Reynolds number based on H which is defined as R $e_{H}$ =ΩRH/v ranging from 7.96$\times$10$^2$ to 1.43$\times$10$^4$, and decreases as the disk speed increases. In the case of a actual-like case, the boundary between inner region and outer region appears cleary when head position located at outer diameter with no damper. It is detected with a case of head position middle diameter that the tip wake is generated behind HGA using PIV measurement and calculation.n.

받음각 변화에 따른 아르키메데스 풍력발전 날개 주위의 유동장 변화 (Flow Characteristics around Archimedes Wind Turbine according to the Change of Angle of Attack)

  • This paper describes aerodynamic characteristics of an Archimedes spiral wind turbine with various angles of attack. The range of angles was controlled from $-30^{\circ}$ (clockwise) to $+30^{\circ}$ (clockwise). The rotating speed of wind turbine at the same angle of attack in both directions was different. The reason why the-maximum rotational speed was observed at $15^{\circ}$ in clockwise direction can be explained based on angular momentum conservation. Quantitative flow visualization around Archimedes wind turbine blade was carried out between $-15^{\circ}$ (clockwise) and $+15^{\circ}$ (counter clockwise) using high resolution PIV method. The relationship between drag force and rotating speeds was discussed. From these results, optimum design on yawing system of Archimedes spiral wind turbine may provide high efficiency on small wind power system.

플래핑 운동의 공기역학적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Aerodynamic Characteristics of Flapping Motion)

  • Birds and insects flap their wings to fly in the air and they can change their wing motions to do steering and maneuvering. Therefore, we created various wing motions with the parameters which affected flapping motion and evaluated the aerodynamic characteristics about those cases in this study. As the wing rotational velocity was fast and the rotational timing was advanced, the measured aerodynamic forces showed drastic increase near the end of stroke. The mean lift coefficient was increased until angle of attack of $50^{\circ}$ and showed the maximum value of 1.0. The maximum mean lift to drag ratio took place at angle of attack of $20^{\circ}$. Flow fields were also visualized around the wing using particle image velocimetry (PIV). From the flow visualization, leading-edge vortex was not shed at mid-stroke until angle of attack of $50^{\circ}$. But it was begun to shed at angle of attack of $60^{\circ}$.

마이크로 레이저 형광 여기법을 이용한 미세채널 내부에서의 산소 확산에 대한 정량적 가시화 (Quantitative Visualization of Oxygen Transfer in Micro-channel using Micro-LIF Technique)

  • In the present study, oxygen transfer process across gas-liquid interface in a Y-shape micro-channel is quantitatively visualized using the micro laser induced fluorescence (${\mu}$-LIF) technique. Diffusion coefficient of Oxygen ($D_L$) is estimated based on the experimental results and compared to its theoretical value. Tris ruthenium (II) chloride hexahydrate was used as the oxygen quenchable fluorescent dye. A light-emitting diode (LED) with wavelength of 450 nm was used as the light source and phosphorescence images of fluorescent dye were captured by a CMOS high speed camera installed on the microscope system. Water having dissolved oxygen (DO) value of 0% and pure oxygen gas were injected into the Y-shaped microchannel by using a double loading syringe pump. In-situ pixel-by-pixel calibration was carried out to obtain Stern-Volmer plots over whole flow field. Instantaneous DO concentration fields were successfully mapped according to Stern-Volmer plots and DL was calculated as $2.0675{\times}10^{-9}\;m^2/s$.

초음파 음장해석 및 가시화를 통한 선형 위상차배열 트랜스듀서의 결함요소 검출 가능성 연구 (Feasibility Study on Detection of Defective Elements in a Linear Phased Array Transducer through Ultrasonic Field Analysis and Visualization)

  • 16개 압전요소로 구성된 3 MHz의 선형 위상차배열 초음파 트랜스듀서를 대상으로, 모든 압전요소가 정상일 때와 임의의 요소 하나가 결함으로 인해 동작하지 않을 때의 음장을 이론적으로 시뮬레이션하고, 슈리렌법에 따라 구축한 음장가시화장치를 이용하여 실험적으로 측정하였다. 조향각 $0^{\circ}$$30^{\circ}$일 때 각각에 대한 시뮬레이션의 결과, 임의의 압전요소가 결함으로 인해 동작하지 않을 때의 음장은 모든 요소가 정상적으로 동작할 때의 음장에 비해 부엽 패턴이 크게 다르게 나타나며, 그 형태는 가시화에 의한 측정결과와 잘 일치하였다. 따라서, 가시화 장치에 의해 측정된 2차원 음장에서의 부엽패턴을 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교 분석함으로써 선형 위상차배열 초음파 트랜스듀서의 결함요소 검출이 가능함을 알았다.

초등학교 6학년 학생들의 공간감각과 공간추론능력 실태조사 (An Investigation on $6^{th}$ Grade Students' Spatial Sense and Spatial Reasoning)

  • 본 연구는 초등학교 6학년 학생들의 공간감각과 공간추론능력의 실태를 조사하였다. 공간감각 측면에서는 전반적으로 학생들의 공간 시각화 능력이 공간 방향화 능력보다 우수하였는데, 각각의 하위 요소를 분석한 결과 변환능력이 회전능력보다, 방향감각과 물체의 구조인식능력이 위치감각보다 상대적으로 우수하였다. 공간추론능력 측면에서는 학생들이 문제를 해결할 때 다양한 공간추론능력을 사용하는 것으로 드러났는데, 특히 변환의 인식과 사용, 분석과 종합, 시각화 방법의 개발과 적용을 많이 사용하였다. 본 논문은 학생들의 공간감각 및 공간추론능력 사용형태를 상세히 분석함으로써 이와 관련한 교수 학습 과정에 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다.

터빈 후류를 관찰하기 위한 와류 코어 식별 기법 연구 (Investigation of vortex core identification method for wind turbine wake)

  • In this study, we conduct a numerical experiment of the single 5MW NREL wind turbine and compare the performance of various vortex core identification for the wake behind the wind turbine. In the kinetic analysis of wind turbine, 20% velocity deficit at 200 s is observed, showing wake which contains tip vortex near blade tip and rotor vortex at the center of the wind turbine. Time series of velocity and turbulent intensity show numerical simulation converge to a quasi-steady state near 200 s. In the comparison between methods for vortex identification, ${\lambda}_2$-method has good performance in terms of tip vortex, rotor vortex, vortex during its cascade process compared to vorticity magnitude criteria, ${\Delta}$-method. We conclude that ${\lambda}_2$-method is suitable for vortex identification method for wake visualization.

자동차 외판의 미세면굴곡 거동의 수치해석적 평가 (A Numerical and Experimental Study of Surface Deflections in Automobile Exterior Panels)

  • Surface deflections have a great effect on the external appearance of automobiles. Usually, they are occurred on large flat panels containing sudden shape changes and of very small size about $\pm$30$\sim$300$\mu$m. Since the current numerical method is not sufficient for predicting these defects, the correction of these defects still depends on trial and error, which requires a great deal of time and expense. Consequently, developing the numerical method to predict and prevent these defects is very important far improving cosmetic surface qualities. In this study, an evaluation system that can analyze surface deflections using numerical simulation and a visualization system are reported. To calculate the surface deflections numerically, robust algorithms and simulation methodologies are suggested and to visualize them quantitatively, the curvature variation algorithm is proposed. To verify the developed systems, the experimental die of the handle portion of exterior door is analyzed. The results showed that the experimental and simulational visualization are in good agreement. Compensation methods to correct the surface deflections are also tested. The evaluation system proposed in this paper could be used to predict and minimize the occurrence of surface deflections in die manufacturing.
