This paper describes the design of 3-component force/moment sensor with the force and moment ratio of wide range. It can measure the x-direction force Fx, y-direction force Fy and z-direction moment Mz simultaneously. In order to accurately measure forces and moment using 3-component force/moment sensor, it should get suitable force and moment ratio(the ratio of force Fx=200 N and moment Mz=20 Nm is ten to one), and small interference error. In this paper, in order to design the 3-component force/moment sensor with the force and moment ratio of wide range, the procedures are performed as follow : 1) the derivation of the equations to predict the bending strains on the surfaces of the plate-beams under the force or the moments, 2) the determination of the size of the sensing elements of the force/moment sensor by using the derived equations, 3) the Finite Element Method(FEM) analysis and the characteristic test for confirming the strains from the theory analysis, 4) the selection of the attachment locations of the strain gages of each sensor, 5) the analysis of the rated strain and the interference error at the attachment location of strain gages. It reveals that the rated strains calculated from the derived equations make a good agreement with the results from the Finite Element Method analysis and the characteristic test.
A laboratory investigation was conducted wherein smooth, rounded, siliceous river gravel aggregates were coated with fine-grained polyethylene, carpet co-product, or cement + styrene butadiene rubber latex and used to prepare hot mix asphalt concrete specimens. Only the coarse (+ No.4) aggregates were coated. The concept was that the coatings would enhance surface roughness of the aggregates and, thus, produce asphalt mixtures with superior engineering properties. Hot mix asphalt specimens were prepared and evaluated using several standard and non-standard test procedures. Based on experiences during the coating processes and analyses of these limited test results, the following was concluded: All three aggregate coating materials increased Hveem and Marshall stability, tensile strength, and resilient modulus(stiffness). These findings are indicative of improved resistance to rutting and cracking in hot mix asphalt pavements prepared using coated gravel aggregates in comparison to similar uncoated gravel aggregates.

Solid materials of ammonia sources with SCR have been considered for the application of lean NOx reduction in automobile industry, to overcome complex problems of liquid urea based SCR. These solid materials produce ammonia gas directly with proper heating and can be packaged by compact size, because of high volumetric ammonia density. Among ammonium salts and metal ammine chlorides, calcium ammine chloride was focused on this paper due to low decomposition temperature. In order to make calcium ammine chloride in lab-scale, simple reactor and glove box was designed and built with ammonium gas tank, regulator, and sensors. Basic test conditions of charging ammonia gas to anhydrous calcium chloride are chosen from equilibrium vapor pressure by Van't Hoff plot based on thermodynamic properties of materials. Synthetic method of calcium ammine chloride were studied for different durations, temperatures, and pressures with proper ammonia gas charged, as a respect of ammonia gas adsorption rate(%) from simple weight calculations which were confirmed by IC. Also, lab-made calcium ammine chloride were analyzed by TGA and DSC to clarify decomposition step in the equations of chemical reaction. To understand material characteristics for lab-made calcium ammine chloride, DA, XRD and FT-IR analysis were performed with published data of literature. From analytical results, water content in lab-made calcium ammine chloride can be discovered and new test procedures of water removal were proposed.

PURPOSE. This study investigated the influence of surface conditioning procedures and repeated firings on monoclinic content and strength of zirconia before cementation. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Sintered bar-shaped zirconia specimens were subjected to no surface treatment (control), air abrasion, or grinding (n=21). Their roughness was evaluated using a profilometer, and microscope analysis was performed on one specimen of each group. Then, 2 or 10 repeated firings (n=10) were executed, the monoclinic content of specimens was analyzed by X-ray diffraction, and a three-point flexural strength test was performed. Surface roughness values were compared using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey honestly significant difference (HSD) tests, the monoclinic content values were tested using Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U tests, and the flexural strength values were tested using two-way ANOVA and Tukey HSD tests (P=.05). Spearman's correlation test was performed to define relationships among measured parameters. RESULTS. Surface-treated specimens were rougher than untreated specimens and had a higher monoclinic content (P<.005), and the relationship between roughness and monoclinic content was significant (P<.000). Neither surface treatment nor firing significantly affected the flexural strength, but Weibull analysis showed that for the air-abraded samples the characteristic strength was significantly lower after the $10^{th}$ firing than after the $2^{nd}$ firing. CONCLUSION. After firing, a negligible amount of monoclinic content remained on the zirconia surfaces, and rougher surfaces had higher monoclinic contents than untreated surfaces. Multiple firings could be performed if necessary, but the fracture probability could increase after multiple firings for rougher surfaces.
This paper deals with six degree-of-freedom HILS(hardware-in-the-loop-simulation) of KSR-III rocket using a TAFMS(three axis flight motion simulator). This TAFMS HILS test is accomplished before main HILS tests in order to verify the control stability in the presence of TAFMS dynamic effects. The TAFMS HILS test includes initial attitude holding tests for INS initial alignment procedures, timer synchronization tests with an auxiliary lift-off signal, real-time calibration tests using an external thermal recorder, open-loop TAFMS operating tests, and final closed-loop TAFMS HILS tests using the TAFMS attitude measurements as inputs to the closed control loop. The HILS tests are accomplished for several flight conditions composed with nominal flight condition, TWD effect added condition, slosh modes and/or bending modes existing condition, and windy condition, etc.
Nowadays, personal media is a new tool for communication as digital cameras and mobile phones are developing rapidly. We are concerned over Cyworld users who could have different personal characteristics which will influence on buying patterns in on line shopping behaviors. The purpose of this research was to observe fashion attitudes and purchase behavior of Cyworld mini homepage users, for establishing marketing strategies by understanding consumers. For this study, one line survey was used for 500 male and female subjects who are 20 to 40 years old. Only reliable 441 questionnaires were used for analysis. The SPSS program was used for frequency, K-means cluster, t test, and chi-square test. A total of 441 respondents were clustered on the basis of 8 item self-disclosure scale, using the K-means procedures. The results indicated that respondents were clustered into two segments; 267 respondents(active attitude towards self-disclosure) and 164 ones(not active). We examined fashion attitudes in mini home page and buying behavior by self-disclosed variable. Those who are involved actively in self expression and self-disclosure considered more fashion style and trend. The major motivates of web surfing was finding a good design, and good price. High self-disclosure group tends to search many shopping mall for right design and low self disclosure group tends to search them for the right price. High self-disclosure group tend to shop the fashion products more, while low self disclosure group tend to purchase books more through the internet. We realized that active group in self-disclosure purchased their clothing accidently when they visit Cyworld.
Purpose: Early identification of neonatal sepsis is a global issue because of limitations in diagnostic procedures. The objective of this study was to compare the diagnostic accuracy of neutrophil CD64 and C-reactive protein (CRP) as a single test for the early detection of neonatal sepsis. Methods: A prospective study enrolled newborns with documented sepsis (n=11), clinical sepsis (n=12) and control newborns (n=14). CRP, neutrophil CD64, complete blood counts and blood culture were taken at the time of the suspected sepsis for the documented or clinical group and at the time of venipuncture for laboratory tests in control newborns. Neutrophil CD64 was analyzed by flow cytometry. Results: CD64 was significantly elevated in the groups with documented or clinical sepsis, whereas CRP was not significantly increased compared with controls. For documented sepsis, CD64 and CRP had a sensitivity of 91% and 9%, a specificity of 83% and 83%, a positive predictive value of 83% and 33% and a negative predictive value of 91% and 50%, respectively, with a cutoff value of 3.0 mg/dL for CD64 and 1.0 mg/dL for CRP. The area under the receiver-operating characteristic curves for CD64 index and CRP were 0.955 and 0.527 ($P$ <0.01), respectively. Conclusion: These preliminary data show that diagnostic accuracy of CD64 is superior to CRP when measured at the time of suspected sepsis, which implies that CD64 is a more reliable marker for the early identification of neonatal sepsis as a single determination compared with CRP.
Objectives: This study compared the retention of BioAggregate (BA; Innovative BioCeramix) and mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA; Angelus) as coronal plugs after applying different intracanal medications (ICMs) used in regenerative endodontic. Materials and Methods: One-hundred human maxillary central incisors were used. The canals were enlarged to a diameter of 1.7 mm. Specimens were divided into 5 groups (n = 20) according to the ICM used: calcium hydroxide (CH), 2% chlorhexidine (CHX), triple-antibiotic paste (TAP), double-antibiotic paste (DAP), and no ICM (control; CON). After 3 weeks of application, ICMs were removed and BA or MTA were placed as the plug material (n = 10). The push-out bond strength and the mode of failure were assessed. The data were analyzed using 2-way analysis of variance, the Tukey's test, and the ${\chi}^2$ test; p values < 0.05 indicated statistical significance. Results: The type of ICM and the type of plug material significantly affected bond strength (p < 0.01). Regardless of the type of ICM, BA showed a lower bond strength than MTA (p < 0.05). For MTA, CH showed a higher bond strength than CON, TAP and DAP; CHX showed a higher bond strength than DAP (p < 0.01). For BA, CH showed a higher bond strength than DAP (p < 0.05). The mode of failure was predominantly cohesive for BA (p < 0.05). Conclusions: MTA may show better retention than BA. The mode of bond failure with BA can be predominantly cohesive. BA retention may be less affected by ICM type than MTA retention.
Recently, as earthquakes have occurred in Gyeongju, interest in the stability of structures against vibration from earthquakes has increased. In Korea, the capacity of load resistance is mainly considered in the design of anchors. However, the vibration resistance characteristics of anchors have not been fully elucidated. The traditional type of anchor, which is a frictional resistance anchor, is often reported to fail due to vibration in construction procedures, such as blasting. The expansion type of anchor, on the other hand, could have more resistance to vibration but its capability of demonstrating vibratory resistance has to be investigated. In order to verify the vibratory resistance characteristics of expansion anchors against blasting and earthquake vibration, field tests and numerical analyses for seismic wave were performed. Field blasting test results show that the expansion anchor has better capability against vibratory load than does the frictional type anchor. Numerical analysis to earthquake also show that the expansion type anchor provides more resistance than does the frictional type anchor.
