Simulation model of natural air grain drying was discussed and modified to predict the changes of grain moisture content and dry matter loss of rough rice drying. The modified simulation model was then validated using actual test data. A series of simulated drying tests using official weather data for 15 years from Beaumont, Texas, was taken to make minimum airflow rate and maximum bed depth of rough rice drying by natural air, under different conditions of initial moisture content of rough rice, airflow rate and harvest date.

Due to the recent increase in lighting energy consumption in buildings, there are a growing number of studies seeking solutions this problem. The effectiveness of light-shelves as natural lighting systems to solve this problem has been recognized, and various studies regarding such systems are being carried out currently. However, the lighting efficiency of light-shelves decreases if illumination intensity is low-such as at night time, and it also obstructs the views of building occupants. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine a movable drawer type light-shelf which allows for the width of the reflector to be adjusted and verify its performance through a simulated test-bed. The following conclusions were reached. 1) The purpose of this study is to solve the problem previously associated with the light-shelf system- of obstructed views-by responding to external environments and minimizing the width of the light-shelf at night time when the efficiency of the light-shelf declines. 2) The proper variables of the movable drawer type light-shelf which enables the width adjustment of the reflector were ascertained in this study according to four solar terms : a width of 0.6 m at an angle of $20^{\circ}$, a width of 0.4m with an angle of $20^{\circ}$, and a width of 0.1 m with an angle of $20^{\circ}$ were determined for the summer solstice, fall/spring equinoxes, and winter solstice respectively; revealing that width adjustment of the light-shelf is a significant factor. 3) The movable drawer type light-shelf which enables${\backslash}$width adjustment of the reflector suggested in this study can reduce the lighting energy consumption by 18.7% and 14.3% in comparison to previous light-shelves with a fixed width of 0.3 m and 0.6m, indicating that it is effective for saving energy.
It is essential to lighten the weight of switch girders in order to reduce their costs of manufacturing and make it easier to use them in construction. Lightening the weight of switch is also important to the Maglev 3-way switches system, however, the design variables should be considered very carefully if lightening is to be applied to the system, because these variables are vitally related to the levitation stability. Because Urban Maglev trains have a structure in which train bogie wraps around the guiderail, the adjustment of a girder's height is a possible way to reduce the weight. The safety of the application of this concept is ensured by repeated experiments in a test bed, however, due to a lack of space and budget limits, the design parametric study for the system model can substitute for actual application. The purpose of this paper is to study the design parameters that are concerned with levitation stability while a Maglev train is running on the Maglev 3-way system depending on the weight of the switch girders. In this study, switch girder weight is reduced by adjustment of girder height and girders are and modeled as a flexible body. The effect of the adjustment of girder height on the levitation stability can be analyzed by comparing the velocity of the train when it passes the switch girders, with the lateral gap, and the levitation gap which are obtained from the co-simulation of the Maglev train's dynamics model and flexible switching system. The results of this research will be used to design a Maglev switch.

In this paper, in order to support the construction of a smart home environment of low power consumption, we propose a heterogeneous interface determination engine and architecture. Technology of "smart home" is in the spotlight according to the development of IT technology nowadays. Smart homes are configured with multiple sub-networks, and each sub-network is formed by the smart devices using various communication interfaces. Thus, in the smart home environment, interlocking technology between heterogeneous interfaces is essentially required for supporting communication between different networks. Further, each communication interface is a difference in power consumption, and home smart devices are often operated in 24 hours, especially smart phones and other wireless devices are sensitive to power consumption. Therefore, in order to build a energy efficient home network, It is important to select the appropriate interface to handle traffic depending on the situation. In this paper, we propose "The Heterogeneous Interface Decision Engine and Architecture for constructing of Low Power Home Network," and analyze the performance of the proposed method and verify the validity through experiments on the test bed.

ZigBee is one of wireless communication standards and many applications based on Zigbee have been developing for commercial applications. Most of those applications require links to Internet like Zigbee service gateways. However, ZigBee service gateway should provides following functions to be effectively utilized itself: translation of messages between diverse ZigBee application profiles and message formats used in Internet, addition/removal of a new ZigBee service without stopping existing services according to addition/removal of a Zigbee node, and no transmission of unwanted packets to ZigBee network. Therefore, this paper proposes a new type of ZigBee Service Gateway, called ZiGate to provide the functions. The proposed ZiGate is capable of re-configurating message translation modules required in case of addition/removal of nodes and doesn't transmit unnecessary packets to the ZigBee networks by synchronizing itself with ZigBee network. And ZiGate provides translation modules between messages defined in Zigbee application profiles and both text-based and binary-based messages used in Internet. In this paper we implements the ZiGate and evaluates it on the test bed. This evaluations show that the proposed ZiGate works efficiently.

Compared with analog broadcasting, digital broadcasting supports technical background to provide personalize the TV watching environment by offering broadcasting services that can adapt to viewers' preferences. However, current digital broadcasting shows limited services such as reservation recording, simple program guiding with an electronic program guide (EPG) on a personal video recorder system, and primitive data broadcasting by broadcasters. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to suggest a new broadcasting environment which gives a person facility and a difference fur watching TV by serving enhanced personalized services. For that reason, we propose an intelligent broadcasting system which can minimize viewer's actions, and enhanced broadcasting services which are based on understanding of the semantics of broadcasting contents. To implement the system, agent technology as well as the MPEG-7 and TV-Anytime Forum (TVAF) are employed. For content-level services, real-time content filtering and personalized video skimming are designed and implemented. To verify the usefulness of the proposed system, we demonstrate it with a test-bed on which content-level personalized services are implemented.

In this paper, A method to prevent the external acoustic noise from being misrecognized as the speech recognition object is presented in the speech activity detection process for the speech recognition. Also this paper confirmed besides the acoustic energy to the lip movement image signals. First of all, the successive images are obtained through the image camera for personal computer and the lip movement whether or not is discriminated. The next, the lip movement image signal data is stored in the shared memory and shares with the speech recognition process. In the mean time, the acoustic energy whether or not by the utterance of a speaker is verified by confirming data stored in the shared memory in the speech activity detection process which is the preprocess phase of the speech recognition. Finally, as a experimental result of linking the speech recognition processor and the image processor, it is confirmed to be normal progression to the output of the speech recognition result if face to the image camera and speak. On the other hand, it is confirmed not to the output the result of the speech recognition if does not face to the image camera and speak. Also, the initial feature values under off-line are replaced by them. Similarly, the initial template image captured while off-line is replaced with a template image captured under on-line, so the discrimination of the lip movement image tracking is raised. An image processing test bed was implemented to confirm the lip movement image tracking process visually and to analyze the related parameters on a real-time basis. As a result of linking the speech and image processing system, the interworking rate shows 99.3% in the various illumination environments.
Demand for high-grade limestone is increasing, but the production in the domestic mines has been limited due to the lack of systematic development plans and efforts to develop mining technology to improve the recovery ratio, transition to high-cost underground mining due to increasing social awareness of environmental protection, and the smallness of the domestic mining industry, etc. In this study in connection with this issue, an analysis on the recovery change by improvement of mining method was executed. 3D modeling technique was used to construct a 3D model. 3D model includes the geological structure, the limestone ore body and the underground pits and tunnels excavated at the Daepyeong District of Daesung MDI Donghae District. By using the 3D model, measured resources, reserves and ore recovery were evaluated from the results of pilot operation of the room and pillar hybrid mining method, which is a variant of room and pillar mining method. These results were compared with those obtained from the conventional mining method. The ore recovery obtained by hybrid mining method was found to be up to 71.6%, showing about 26%p. increase compared with the case of conventional mining method.
The PET scanner can detect the photon pair arriving from the source in phantom. The number of light photons released by the crystal(scintillator-BGO or LSO). In recent scintillation crystals in block structures were incorporated into full ring systems, and their resulted marked improvement in spatial resolution and increase in a sensitivity to annihilations. The uniformity of the crystal sensitivity is very important to makes correct information of abnormal states in organs. These factors influenced by the dection efficiency of the scintillators. We have study about the uniformity of crystals to the annihilation, And study about the standard deviation to average counts. The relative standard deviation in central detector groups more uniformed than circumferenced detector groups. It is caused detected quanta of gamma ray by the geometrical factors of PET detector. PET cameras are available with different geometric arrangement and several parallel rings oriented in the axial direction. The center groups from 7th to 40th groups are comparatively uniform and sensitive. But at the circumferenced detectors decreased the sensitivity and uniformity.

Recently, advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) has been recognized as a core technology of smart water grid, and the relevant market is growing constantly. In this study, we developed all-in-one smart water meter of the AMI system, which was installed on the test-bed to verify both effectiveness and field applicability in office building water usage. Developed 15 mm-diameter smart water meter is a magneto-resistive digital meter, and measures flow rate and water quality parameters (temperature, conductivity) simultaneously. As a result of the water usage analysis by installing six smart water meters on various purposes in office building water usage, the water usage in shower room showed the highest values as the 1,870 L/day and 26.6 liter per capita day (LPCD). But, the water usage in laboratory was irregular, depending on the many variables. From the analysis of the water usage based on day of the week, the water usage on Monday showed the highest value, and tended to decrease toward the weekend. According to the PCA results and multivariate statistical approaches, the shower room (Group 3) and 2 floor man's restroom sink (Group 1-3) have been classified as a separate group, and the others did not show a significant difference in both water use and water quality aspects. From the analysis of water usage measured in this study, the leak or water quality accident did not occur. Consequently, all-in-one smart water meter developed in this study can measure flow rate and water quality parameters (temperature, conductivity) simultaneously with effective field applicability in office building water usage.
