This paper presents the effects of cryogenic temperature on the wear behavior of 22MnB5 blank under cold stamping. After immersing the blank in liquid nitrogen (LN2) for 10 min, a strip drawing test was performed within 10 s. The hardness was measured using the Rockwell hardness test, which increased from 165 HV at 20℃ to 192 HV at cryogenic temperature. The strip drawing test with 22MnB5 blank and SKD61 tool steel shows that for the different wear mechanisms on the tool surface with respect to temperature; adhesive wear is dominant at 20℃, but abrasive wear is the main mechanism at cryogenic temperature. As the friction test is repeated, sticking gradually increases on the tool surface at 20℃, whereas the scratch increases at cryogenic temperature. For the friction behavior, the friction coefficient rapidly increases when adhesive wear occurs, and it occurs more frequently at 20℃. The results for nanoindentation near the worn blank surface indicate a difference of 1.3 GPa at 20℃ and 0.8 GPa at cryogenic temperature compared to the existing hardness, indicating increased deformation by friction at 20℃. This occurs because thermally activated energy available to move the dislocation decreases with decreasing temperature.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to estimate the lifetime, and verify the target lifetime at steady state temperature, of communication cable jackets used in nuclear power plants. Method: This study was completed according to test and analysis methods required by international standards. After measuring the residual elongation(%) of specimens at specific points in time with the accelerated degradation test, average failure time of each temperature was computed. Thus, the activation energy could be derived by applying the temperature-Arrhenius law to estimate cable jacket lifetime at steady state temperature. Results: The cable jacket lifetime was estimated as 363.8 years assuming a normal nuclear power plant operating temperature of $90^{\circ}C$. Conclusion: To ascertain stable operating conditions for a nuclear power plant, accelerated degradation tests were performed according to the Arrhenius law for components of the nuclear power plants. The lifetime was estimated from the degradation data collected during the accelerated degradation test.
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the axial bearing capacity and residual properties of steel reinforced recycled aggregate concrete (SRC) column after elevated temperature. A total of 48 SRC columns were designed for the static loading test after elevated temperature. The variables include replacement ratios, designed temperature, target duration, thicknesses of cover concrete, steel ratios and stirrup spacing. From this test, the mass loss ratio and stress load-deformation curve were obtained, and the influence of various parameters on residual bearing capacity were analyzed. ABAQUS was used to calculate the temperature field of specimens, and then got temperature damage distribution on the cross-section concrete. It was shown that increasing of the elevated temperatures leaded to the change of concrete color from smoky-gray to grayish brown and results in reducing the bearing capacity of SRC columns. The axial damage and mechanism of SRC columns were similar to those of reinforced natural aggregate concrete columns at the same temperatures. Finally, the calculation method of axial compressive residual bearing capacity of SRC columns recycled concrete columns after high temperature was reported based on the test results and finite element analysis.
Launch vehicles are exposed to aerodynamic heating conditions while flying at high Mach numbers in the atmosphere. In this study aerodynamic heating test for fairing nose-cone was done using ATSF(Aerodynamic Thermal Simulation Facility) and Engineering Model for fairing. ATSF is a facility that can simulate given temperature profile using about 4,000 halogen heaters on fairing model. Aerodynamic heating profile is got from result of thermal analysis using MINIVER, Thermal Desktop and SINDA/FLUINT. After aerodynamic heat test, it is found that initial temperature of fairing inner surface and thickness of BMS has important effects on temperature of fairing inner surface. Also it is confirmed that maximum temperature of fairing nose-cone inner surface during flight is lower than allowable temperature limit. Later, thermal correlation between thermal analysis and experimental results will be done using aerodynamic heating test result
A gap conductance is very important factor which can affect nuclear fuel temperature. Especially, in case of an annular fuel, a gap conductance effect can lead an unexpected heat split phenomena which is caused by a large difference of an inner and outer gap conductance. The gap conductance mechanism is very complicated behavior due to the its strong dependency on microscopic factors such as a contact surface roughness, local contact pressure and local temperature. In this paper, for the decision of test temperature and pressure range, a procedure and calculation results of in-reactor fuel temperature and pressure analysis are summarized which can be applied to test equipment design and determination of test matrix. Based upon analysis results, it is concluded that the minimum and maximum test temperature are $300^{\circ}C$ and $530^{\circ}C$ respectively, and the maximum pellet/cladding interfacial contact pressure should be observed up to 45MPa.

As the huge energy transfer systems like as nuclear power plant and steam power plant are operated for a long time at a high temperature, mechanical properties are changed and ductile-brittle transition temperature is raised by degradation. So it is required to estimate degradation in order to assess the safety, remaining life and further operation parameters. The sub-sized specimen test method using surveillance specimen was developed for evaluating the integrity of metallic components. In this study, we would like to present the evaluation technique of the ductile-brittle transition temperature by the sub-sized specimen test. The four classes of the thermally aged 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V specimens were prepared using an artificially accelerated aging method. The tensile test and fracture toughness test were performed. The results of the fracture toughness tests using the sub-sized specimens were compared with the evaluation technique of the ductile-brittle transition temperature.

In this study, design and manufacturing of plastic injection mold with cavity pressure/temperature sensors were performed fur tensile test specimen. International standard system for plastic tensile specimen was applied to design an injection molding system. Cavity pressure and temperature sensors were placed on the side of fixed platen of the injection mold to prevent them from external impact damage. Injection molding experiments with variations of injection speed and melt temperature were performed and then tensile test of the manufactured polycarbonate specimens was also performed. It was shown that injection molding processing parameters can have effect on the mechanical properties of the plastic injection molded part.
Purpose: This study aims to develop distributable samples that can be used for proficiency testing to verify the ability of the testing laboratory to perform high temperature and low temperature tests. Method: In this study, the temperature-resistance characteristics of the NTC thermistor were used to develop samples. The homogeneity and stability of samples were examined according to the proficiency testing requirements. Results: Thirty samples with homogeneity and stability were developed and used for the proficiency testing. Thus, it was possible to distinguish between the test laboratories that showed satisfactory results and those that did not. Conclusion: It was the first time to develop samples that can be used for proficiency testing in high temperature and low temperature tests. and it was proved that the proficiency test program can be operated using the characteristics of NTC thermistor.

The purpose of the study on the tailoring of environmental requirements for KT-1 Export Version(XKT-1T) aircraft is not only based on meeting the compliance of the environmental reliability, customer satisfaction, but also for the expansion of its export. This paper proposes the environmental requirements tailoring processes and High/Low temperature conditions, test procedures, and the results of test profiles for the aircraft. Amongst many existing environmental requirements, the temperature requirements are considered as the most basic and the most important environmental requirements. The High/Low temperature tests are considered and tailored to the high and low temperature methods of MIL-STD-810.

In this paper, a method to extract temperature effect information using the color temperatures of video scenes with mapping to temperature effects is proposed to author temperature effects of multiple sensorial media content automatically. An authoring tool to apply the proposed method is also introduced. The temperature effects generated by the proposed method are evaluated by a subjective test to measure the level of satisfaction. The mean opinion score results show that most of the test video sequences receive an average of approximately four points (in a five-point scale), indicating that test video sequences (with the temperature effects generated by the proposed method) enhance levels of satisfaction.
