  • This Paper presents an application technique for solving the Security Constrained Economic Dispatch(SCED) problem using the Interior Point Method. The optimal power flow solution is obtained by optimizing the given generation cost objectives function subject to the system security constraints. The proposed technique is applied to a prototype 6-bus system for evaluation and test.

  • The most desirable method for the solution of solidification problems in castings must be the one which combines accuracy, simplicity, and low computer usage cost. The purpose of the present study is to develop a method which includes all these advantages. The purpose of the present research was approached by the introduction of two methods: (1) A pour-out test, employed with very high purity aluminum, for the purpose of obtaining accurate solidification data in L-sections; and (2) an numerical technique, using the cubic spline function for defining solidification curves.

  • In recent years, significant advances in computers and communication technologies have made multimedia services feasible. As a result, various queuing models and cost models on architecture and data placement for multimedia server have been proposed. However, these analytical techniques use only probabilistic models to represent the behavior of a system, and then they have several limitations like accuracy. Simulation is a viable alternative to analytical model. It avoids many of the limitations associated with analytical techniques, allowing for more precise representation of system attributes like workload in program code. In this paper, we propose a simulation test bed that can evaluate performance of real-time multimedia server by using simulation model.

  • We designed and tested a new scan driver output stage. Compared to conventional CMOS structured scan driver IC′s, the new NMOSFET-only scan driver circuit can reduce the chip area and therefore, the chip cost considerably. We confirmed the circuit operation with open drain power NMOSFET IC′s by driving 2"PDP test panel. We defined critical device parameters and their optimization methods lot the best circuit performance.

  • The main purpose of this study is to analyze the importance of the construction work of apartment buildings. The construction work operation was divided into five major tasks, which include: Schedule Control (P'1 - P5) Construction Management (C'1 - C'5), Environmental Management (E'1 - E'3), and Quality Management. Finally, this study derived major construction execution tasks through correlation between construction work and the original index and t-test.

  • Long-term reliability of Si photovoltaic modules is a crucial issue for the cost-reduction on the power-supply system. To elevate this reliability, several environmental tests have been created as qualification and certification procedures.   • Recently, the unipolar gate power source is preferred in inverter system because of cost reduction reason. In this case, designer uses 0V source for turning-off the switching devices instead of negative voltage at Vee source. If the gate driver circuit has some stray inductance, the gate voltage would happen a surge voltage. This paper analyzes that of stray inductance effect during the switching behavior in the circuit and the proposed solutions were verified by pulse test.

  • A simplified control method for the single-phase active power f1Iter is proposed. This method has the advantages of using only one current sensor, a simple control circuit and low implementation cost. A model of this method is derived. A prototype is also developed to demonstrate the performance of this method. The test results show that the proposed active power filter has the expected performance.

  • As one of the strategies to sustain the maximum output with the total minimum cost, huge plants worldwide, such as steel mills, refineries, petrochemical plants, and etc., may and will plan and implement the minimization of operating and maintenance costs for their own. This paper is to review the foreign cases of energy savings through lubrication improvements as one of the actions for that purpose and summarize their directions, and also to look at one such local test case.

  • 본 논문에서는 분산된 XML 문서를 수집 처리하여 상호 제공하는 과정에서 활용될 통합된 XML 문서의 전역 스키마를 생성하는 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템에서는 분산 환경에 존재하는 개별적인 XML 문서들에 대한 지역 스키마 정보를 관계형 데이터베이스로 구축하고, 통합된 XML 문서의 데이터를 기반으로 각각의 지역 스키마 데이터베이스를 검색한 후 데이터에 적합한 스키마 정의를 추출하게 된다. 또한 추출과정에서 중복 정의에 의한 충돌 범주를 분석하고, 이를 해결하는 방법도 제시하였다. 시스템 모델링 결과 XML 문서의 구조와 검증을 명확하게 보장하는 통합된 XHL 문서의 전역 스키마 생성과 지역 스키마간 발생되는 충돌문제 해결이 가능함을 알 수 있었다.
