  • The construction of concrete slab track system is increased because the system has advantages which are maintenance free and so on, the other side, the system has weak points such as increase of the cost of the early stage construction and noise levels. Currently, concrete slab track systems has been designed for Gyungbu high speed line stage 2 and Honam high speed line. For those tracks, noise absorbing blocks are considered. Therefore, test methods and proper criteria for structural performance and reduction efficiency of noise absorbing blocks are required. The aim of this study is to provide provisons for installing acoustic-absorptive block on slab tracks.

Vibration Attenuation of a Drum-Typed Washing Machine Using Magneto-Rheological Dampers (MR 댐퍼를 사용한 드럼세탁기의 진동완화)

  • Most washing machines are now produced as a drum-type, where a washing drum mounted on a suspension system with springs and dampers, to minimize the transmittance of the vibration from the drum to the frame. A low-cost MR damper, using magneto-rheological fluids, can produce variable damping forces by changing the current values in the magnetic coil. Experimental results show the comparison of the vibration attenuation performances between two different dampers. One test set-up uses a passive damper and another one uses a MR fluid damper. The test results showed that the vibration amplitude of the washing machine with the MR damper is much smaller than the case with the passive damper.

  • This paper relates to the automotive silencers reduce noise generated from the actual vehicle for the activity is based on was worth. To do this, the noise from cars to distinguish them by category, characteristics of turbo charger was designed to reduce noise. In order for the design of acoustic modeling using line dynamics, was analyzed using In house & the commercial software programs. Silencers have about several basic elements. Expand, collapse, perforated plate, and the combination are the basic reactive or dissipative elements. Finally, DFSS(design for six sigma) method was designed. and it was verified in vehicle test. The new developed silencers showed good performance vehicle test results. also, the net cost also indicated excellent results compared with other company.

  • Pre-coated sheet materials are a cost-effective and environmentally attractive alternative to conventional sheet materials coated after forming. At present but the high scratch sensitivity of coating used for pre-coated metal sheet is a major limitation to use of these materials. Because of high scratch sensitivity, products made by pre-coated metal sheet are not formed by conventional design method. This study has been performed to investigate scratch characteristic of non-vinyl pre-coated metal (PCM) sheet. Using the simple U-bending test equipment, three non-vinyls PCM's were tested. This paper provides the results of bending tests showing the influence of sheet surface texture, tool material and process conditions. It was found that the influence of punch, die clearance and tool material had an effect upon the scratch characteristic.

Effect of $N_2$ back shielding gas on the property change of GTA weldment (질소 이면보호가스 적용성에 관한 연구)

  • To investigate the suitability of nitrogen gas as an internal purging gas, various properties of GTA welded joints of duplex, 316L stainless steel, Cu-Ni alloy pipe using nitrogen purging gas were evaluated with reference to onew purged with argon gas. Mechanical properties evaluated by the tensile, bending test, and hardness value of welded joints with nitrogen gas purging did not show any difference those with argon gas. General and local corrosion rates of each welded joint prepared by nitrogen gas purging also showed no difference with those prepared by argon gas. Based on the present test results it is confirmed that nitrogen is a suitable purging gas for GTA welding of stainless steels and nonferrous piping systems, which can be used at lower cost instead of argon.

  • Resistance welding processes are widely used in automotive applications. In particular, Mash-Seam resistance welding is typically used in Tailored Blank process. If spot welds are changed to a continuous weld, it's easy to reduce noise and to be more stable in cars. A arc welding, laser welding, seam welding using wheel electrode are available to make continuous welds on a car body, but they demand operator with advanced skills and expensive cost to develop. Therefore, flat electrode continuous mash-seam resistance welding process has been used to improve the weak points in currently available system in lap seam welding. This developed process has much more strength and air tightability, and also has much better plastic workability than laser welding. Moreover, commercial RSW machine can be readily used in this welding process.

  • M/S TB(Mash Seam Tailored Blank) is a production method for blanks by welding together blanks of different material, thickness and coating, and is an attractive method for manufacturing car body because it makes parts lighter and can save the cost and time to manufacture. However, there have not been quantified criteria to evaluate the quality of TB weld. This study introduced FHR (failure height ratio) in order to assess formability or/and weldability of the M/S welds and the applicability of FHR was confirmed by actual auto body forming and FLD tests. Furthermore, a new parameter, HN(heat number) based on the heat input of "$Q=I^2Rt$" was proposed and assessed. It was found that the concept of HN could be utilized to evaluate the soundness of M/S welds without any destructive tests.ive tests.

Correlation between Longitudinal Wave Velocity and Strength of Early-aged Concrete (초기 재령 콘크리트의 종파 속도와 강도의 상관관계)

  • The usage of nondestructive testing on early-aged concrete leads to enhacned safty and allows effective scheduling of construction, thus making it possible to maximize the time and cost efficiencies. In this study, a reliable nondestructive strength evaluation method for early-aged concrete using the longitudinal wave velocity is proposed. Compression tests were performed to examine factors influencing the velocity-strength relationship of concrete, such as water-cement (w/c) ratio, fine aggregate ratio, curing temperature, and curing condition. The test results show that a change in the w/c ratio and curing temperature has minor effect on the velocity-strength relationship/ However, curing condition significantly influences the velocity-strength relationship of early-aged concrete. Moreover, the longitudinal wave velocity increases with decreasing fine aggregate ratio. It is concluded from this study that the strength evaluation of early-age concrete can be achieved by a nonlinear equation which considers the effects of curing condition and fine aggregate ratio.

  • This paper introduces a new design and fabrication technology of 28 GHz low-cost up and down converter modules for digital microwave radios, The design of the converter module is based on unit circuit blocks, which are to be characterized using a special test fixture. Based on the cascade analysis of the module the 28 GHz up and down converter modules have been designed and implemented. The measured module performance agrees with the cascade analysis. New components such as a tapped edge-coupled filter and a new Ka-band waveguide-to-microstrip transition, which are less sensitive to fabrication tolerances, have been used in the module implementation.

  • The propose of this study is to grasp actual status and needs of leisure of middle age. The questionnaire survey is used, the subjects are middle age from 40${\sim}$50's living in big city. The questionnaire consists of leisure, leisure actual condition, leisure satisfaction and need. Frequency, percent, average, x2-test, t-test and ANOVA are used for data analysis. The results of this study are as following; First, leisure is necessary to elevate Quality of life in terms of spiritual , psychological stability and physical health. Second, subjects have more leisure time in weekend the characteristics of leisure time are scattered in woman. Third, in the future the subjects wish to have leisure with family. Therefore, it is necessary to develop leisure program and facilities to promote family leisure. Fourth, the subjects are not satisfied with current leisure for unsufficiency of leisure time, cost, facility and program. Fifth, present leisure behavior characteristics are restrictive and passive. In the near future, however, they showed desire to engage in divers forms of leisure including active and participant leisure.
