  • The damage inspection of container surface is performed by the expert inspectors at the container terminal gate of harbor. In this paper, we substitute the expert's capability with the damage inspection system using the artificial intelligent control algorithm and vision system, so we can improve the work environment and effectively decrease the inspection time and cost. Firstly, using six CCD cameras attached to the terminal gate, whole container is partially captured according to eleven sensors aligned with the entering direction of container. Captured partial images are inspected by the fuzzy system which the expert's technology is embedded. Next, we compose partial images to be a complete container image through the correlation coefficient method. Complete container image is saved to solve future troublesome problems. In this paper, the effectiveness of the proposed system was verified through the field test.

  • In this paper, authentication technologies for X-ray inspection images in container merchandises are introduced and a method of authentication for X-ray inspection images is proposed. Until now, X-ray images of container merchandises have been managed without any authentication of inspection results and environments, it means that there was no any action for protection of illegal copy and counterfeiting of X-ray images from inspection results. Here, authentication identifies that who did inspect container X-ray images and, whether the container X-ray images were counterfeited or not. Our proposed algorithm indicates to put important information about X-ray inspection results on an X-ray image without affecting quality of the original image. Therefore, this paper will be useful in determining an appropriate technology and system specification for authentication of X-ray inspection images. As a result of experiment, we find that the information can be embedded to X-ray image without large degradation of image quality. Our proposed algorithm has high detection ratio by Quality 20 of JPEG attack.

  • This paper suggests a stereo vision-based algorithm for the 3-dimensional inspection of a crimped terminal. The crimped terminal is one of wire harness assemblies which transmit current or signals between a pair of electrical or electronic assemblies. Four types of nonconformities considered includes terminal rolling, band up/down, twist, and crimp height. To obtain stereo image correspondence, an algorithm using Hough transform is proposed. Coordinate transform is then applied to evaluate the degree of 3-dimensional nonconformities. The algorithm has been successfully tested on a number of real specimens collected from a wire harness factory. The test results show the feasibility of the proposed algorithm.

  • After World Trade Center's Terror in 2001 and promulgating Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA, 2002) and Security and Accountability For Every Port Act (SAFE Port Act, 2006) in the United States, most of the attention on security of international transportation including marine carrier and facility has focused increasingly. Inspection stations in foreign seaport terminal including Busan, South Korea, have been installed by Container Security Initiative (CSI) and Customs Trade Partnership against Terrorism (C-TPAT). The inspection station, however, may directly and indirectly affect delay of truck turnaround time in the seaport, especially high and severe level of security. This paper was analysed a risk for the additional average delay of truck turnaround time incurring by the inspection station under the all level of security, C-TPAT and CSI. As a result of this risk analysis, the higher weighted inspection time based on raising security level, the less number of trucks to be inspected, which will derive high delay in the inspection station.

  • We studies wish to investigated establishment form of cabinet board, and confirm possibility of electrical disaster prevention through reappearance experiment of odor detection system. Established breaker consists of MCCB, RCD order in cabinet board for house, but industry is used together with. When imposed shock using shaker to terminal block that contact becomes in appropriate, flame was made sure. According to result that experiment attaching odor capsule in terminal block, capsule commissioned exactly by occurred heat. According to establishment position of sensor, difference of inspection time was about 10 seconds. Estimate odor inspection system by thing which electrical device accident prevention is available. When there is abnormal generated heat in connection of electric wire, accident prevention estimates that is possible by giving an alarm state of overheat to administrator.

  • After September 11, 2001, the United State's Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has set up inspection stations in seaport terminals. The inspection station, however, may directly and indirectly affect delay time in the seaports, increasing by especially high and severe level of security. This paper studies for a methodology to analyze container delays versus security incurring by the various layouts of the inspection station in the United States.

  • As many industrial workers have been involved with computer terminal tasks, for example, monitor ing, inspection, or computer da4a entry etc., concerns for difficulty evaluation of computer terminal tasks are Increased. This study provides that eyeblink can be used as a means of difficulty evaluation of a computer terminal lask. Four subjects without color blindness are asked to perform the monitoring task of the binary choice type under five levels of task difficulty. In each task, eyeblink rates and eyeblink interval times were measured from the subjects. The results show that the eyeblink rate does decrease with an Increase in task difficulty. In addition, it was found that both eyeblink interval time and eyeblink Interval time variation increased with an increase in task difficulty. It was concluded that the change of eyeblink rate, eyeblink interval time and eyeblink interval time and eyeblink interval time variation could be regarded as a generalized response to the imposition of task difficulty.

  • This paper introduces the developed geometry PIG (Pipeline Inspection Gauge), one of several ILI (In-Line Inspection) tools, which provide a full picture of the pipeline from only single pass, and has compact size of the electronic device with not only low power consumption but also rapid response of sensors such as calipers, IMU and odometer. This tool is equipped with the several sensor systems. Caliper sensors measure the pipeline internal diameter, ovality and dent size and shape with high accuracy. The IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) measures the precise trajectory of the PIG during its traverse of the pipeline. The IMU also provide three-dimensional coordination in space from measurement of inertial acceleration and angular rate. Three odometers mounted on the PIG body provide the distance moved along the line and instantaneous velocity during the PIG run. The datum measured by the sensor systems are stored in on-board solid state memory and magnetic tape devices. There is an electromagnetic transmitter at the back end of the tool, the transmitter enables the inspection operators to keep tracking the tool while it travels through the pipeline. An experiment was fulfilled in pull-rig facility and was adopted from Incheon LT (LNG Terminal) to Namdong GS (Governor Station) line, 13 km length.

  • This paper suggests a specific model that could efficiently improve the interaction and the interface between MES(Manufacturing Execution System) server and POP(Point of Production) terminal through electronic document server and electronic pen, bluetooth receiver and form paper in disassembly and process inspection works. The proposed model shows that the new method by electronic document automation system can more efficiently perform to reduce processing time for maintenance work, compared with the current approach by handwritten processing system. It is noted in case of the method by electronic document automation system that the effects of proposed model are as follows; (a) While the processing time per equipment for maintenance by the current method was 300 minutes, the processing time by the new method was 50 minutes. (b) While the processing error ratio by the current method was 20%, the error ratio by the new method was 1%.
