It is difficult to found the concept of public interest properly, being ambiguous to distinguish media and service as to the convergence of broadcasting and telecommunications. Accordingly, it is necessary to found the concept of public interest not related to the character of media and service in the age of digital convergence. Therefore this study intended to re-found the concept of public interest, as to industrial changes in the age of convergence of broadcasting and telecommunications. The convergence of broadcasting and telecommunications causes the changes of value chain, which includes contents, platform, network, terminal. It could not help avoiding modifying the industrial structure of broadcasting and telecommunications, because of the changes of value chain. The changes of industrial structure needs the changes of ideology, regulatory policy, regulatory system, and it creates the foundation of new regulatory idea. The purpose of regulatory idea in the age of digital convergence is to practice public interest, and it is an ultimate purpose to increase consumers' welfare. Consequently, for increasing comsumer' welfare, it is necessary to achieve diversity, fairness, objectivity, the preservation of social value in the aspect of contents. Also in the aspect of platform, it is necessary to achieve the protection of privacy, consumer protection, harmful information blocking, and in the aspect of network, it is necessary to achieve the maintenance of secure network, fair competition. Finally, in the aspect of terminal, it is necessary to achieve the maintenance of compatibility, the solution for digital divide. Then regulatory policy of each value chain from a legal and institutional perspective, should be promoted to provide public interest, step by step.
Background: Cardiovascular complications are major causes of morbidity and mortality following non-cardiac thoracic operations. Recent studies have demonstrated that elevation of N-Terminal Pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels can predict cardiac complications following non-cardiac major surgery as well as cardiac surgery. However, there is little information on the correlation between lung resection surgery and NT-proBNP levels. We evaluated the role of NT-proBNP as a potential marker for the risk stratification of cardiac complications following lung resection surgery. Material and Methods: Prospectively collected data of 98 patients, who underwent elective lung resection from August 2007 to February 2008, were analyzed. Postoperative adverse cardiac events were categorized as myocardial injury, ECG evidence of ischemia or arrhythmia, heart failure, or cardiac death. Results: Postoperative cardiac complications were documented in 9 patients (9/98, 9.2%): Atrial fibrillation in 3, ECG-evidenced ischemia in 2 and heart failure in 4. Preoperative median NT-proBNP levels was significantly higher in patients who developed postoperative cardiac complications than in the rest (200.2 ng/L versus 45.0 ng/L, p=0.009). NT-proBNP levels predicted adverse cardiac events with an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.76 [95% confidence interval (CI) 0.545~0.988, p=0.01]. A preoperative NT-proBNP value of 160 ng/L was found to be the best cut-off value for detecting postoperative cardiac complication with a positive predictive value of 0.857 and a negative predictive value of 0.978. Other factors related to cardiac complications by univariate analysis were a higher American Society of Anesthesiologists grade, a higher NYHA functional class and a history of hypertension. In multivariate analysis, however, high preoperative NT-proBNP level (>160 ng/L) only remained significant. Conclusion: An elevated preoperative NT-proBNP level is identified as an independent predictor of cardiac complications following lung resection surgery.

Positioning technology is performing important functions in augmented reality, smart factory, and autonomous driving. Among the positioning techniques, the positioning method using beacons has been considered a challenging task due to the deviation of the RSSI value. In this study, the position of a moving object is predicted by training a neural network that takes the RSSI value of the receiver as an input and the distance as the target value. To do this, the measured distance versus RSSI was collected. A neural network was introduced to create synthetic data from the collected actual data. Based on this neural network, the RSSI value versus distance was predicted. The real value of RSSI was obtained as a neural network for generating synthetic data, and based on this value, the coordinates of the object were estimated by learning a neural network that tracks the location of a terminal in a virtual environment.
Characteristics and enzyme activity comparison was made between urokinase isolated from urine and pro-urokinase separated from CHO(Chinese Hamster Ovary) cell culture broth. Both of purified urokinase and pro-urokinase resulted 54Kd single band in electrophoresis. Urokinase which was proved as a single molecule by gel filtration showed two separated 33Kd and 21Kd bands by 2-mercaptoethanol reduction. Isoelectric forcusing resulted same pl value of 8.6 for both of them. N-terminal amino acid sequence of urokinase after 159th Ile was Ile-Gly-Gly-Glu-Phe-Thr-Thr-Ile-Glu which was different from another N-terminal sequence of Ser-Asn-Glu-Leu-His-Gln-Val-Pro-Ser-Asn. Thrombolytic activities of both of them were propotional to the enzyme concentration. Urokinase showed thrombolytic activities in an short period of reaction time. Pro-urokinase, however, showed high thrombolytic activity for 2 hours or longer period of reaction time.

Two series of symmetric dimesogenic compounds containing a butylene or 1-methylbutylene spacer as a flexible group were synthesized. The mesogenic groups of synthesized compounds consist of an azobenzene group with a terminal substituent. Chemical structures as well as, thermal, mesomorphic, and photochemical properties of the synthesized compounds were investigated using FT-IR, $^1H-NMR$, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarizing optical microscopy (POM), and UV-visible spectrometry. P-H, P-F, and $P-OC_6H_{13}$ showed monotropic liquid crystal phases, whereas the others showed enantiotropic liquid crystal phases. Compounds with butylene group as a flexible spacer exhibited wider mesophase temperature ranges and higher thermal transition temperatures than compounds containing a 1-methylbutylene group. Compounds with a high absolute value of the Hammett substituent constant exhibited high thermal transition temperatures and improved stability in the liquid crystal phase. Furthermore, in the absence or presence of UV light illumination, terminal substituents of the azomesogenic group were important factors in deciding the maximum absorbance wavelength (${\lambda}_{max}$) and the rate of photoisomerization (K).
Two peptides (Im pr-M, Im ch-M) derived from Im ${\lambda}-type$ of Bence Jones Protein and one peptide (Ikch-M) from Ik were separated and purified using the Dowex $50{\times}2$ column $(1{\times}20\;cm)$ and Dowex $1{\times}2(0.9{\times}50\;cm)$. The buffer solution was composed of 1% pyridine and IM formic acid in Dowex $1{\times}2$ column. The blocked N-terminal was examined with ninhydrin reaction before and after alkaline hydrolysis, which was fractionated by Dowex $1{\times}2$ column. Pyrro-glutamic acid in N-terminal residue was identified by comparing with the authentic pyrro-glutamic acid through a high voltage electrophoresis (pH 3.5, 3000 V.) after the peptide Im pr-M (PCA. Ser) was cleavaged at the position of serine with cone. (12 N) HCl and the pyrro-glutamic acid was converted to glutamic acid by treating it with N-NaOH for 116 hours at $27^{\circ}C$. The substractive method was applied to find out the sequence of peptides and carboxypeptidase A was employed to release C-terminal residue from the peptide. In present study PCA. Ser in Im Pr-M was isolated from the pronase digested ${\lambda}$-type Bence Jones protein. The yield of the Im Pr-M was 79.6 percent of its theoretical value, based on the molecular weight of Bence Jones Protein. Im ch-M (PCA. Ser Val. Leu) was isolated from the chymotrypsin digested ${\lambda}$-type Bence Jones Protein. The yield of the Im ch-M was 72.2 percent. based on the molecular weight of Bence Jones Protein. Ik ch-M (PCA. Ser. Ala. Leu) was isolated from the chymotrypsin digested ${\lambda}$-type Bence Jones Protein and its yield was 42% based on the molecular weight of Bence Jones Protein.
This study concerns the integrated gas sensor system of wire and wireless communication by using IoT(Internet of Things) technology. First, communication part is that it delivers the detection information, which transferred by wire or wireless communication and required control procedure based on a wireless module that receives the gas leakage information from wired or wireless detector, to administrator or user's terminal. Second, receiver part is that it shows the location and information, which received from the wired detector formed by a detecting sensor's node as linking with the communication part, and transfers these to the communication part. Third, wireless detector formed as a communication module of a detecting sensor node is that it detects gas leakage and transfers the information through wireless as a packet.Fourth, wired detector communicated with the receiver part and formed as a communication module of a detecting sensor node is that it detects gas leakage, transfers and shows the information as a packet. Fifth, administrator's terminal is that it receives gas leakage information by the communication part, transfers the signal by remote-control, and shut off a gas valve as responding the information. Sixth, database is that it is connected with the communication part; it sets and stores the default values for detecting smoke, CO., and temperature; it transfers this information to the communication part or sends a gas detecting signal to user's terminal. Seventh, user's terminal is that it receives each location's default value which stored and set at the database; it manages emergency situation as shutting off a gas valve through remote control by corresponding each location's gas leakage information, which transferred from the detector to the communication part by wireless. It is possible to process a high quality data regarding flammable or toxic gas by transferring the data, which measured by a sensor module of detector, to the communication part through wire and wireless. And, it allows a user to find the location by a smart phone where gas leaks. Eventually, it minimizes human life or property loss by having stability on gas leakage as well as corresponding each location's information quickly.
Accurate estimation of milk production cost is very important for dairy farmers in establishing strategies for business management (e.g. planning a program for milk production, deciding the size of business and investment, determining the milk price for sale). Since the estimated cost of milk production is used as an important index to determine the basal price of milk in Korea, there has been much interest and debate on the method used to estimate milk production cost among the stakeholder. This study was thus carried out to identify problems in the current methodology for estimating cost of milk production, and to find a better way to improve it. We propose several alternatives and better ways to improve the current method for estimating cost of milk production. Estimation of the income and cost per head should be based on the number of cattle converted to grown cows. Cost estimation per liter of milk should be made for both whole milk and 3.4% milk fat corrected milk. The value of purchased cows and raised replacement heifers should be the same as their market value. The productive life span of cows should be less 4 years, and the terminal or salvage value of cows needs to be 30 to 40% less than her initial value. When calculating depreciation of cows over the productive life span, however, the salvage value should be 0 or 1 Korean won. On calculating labor costs, the farm labor wage corresponding to the average wage of nonfarm industrial workers should be assumed. Beside of these, better estimation procedures for other items are also given. The proposed methods from this study should improve the accuracy of estimation of milk production cost and help to achieve consensus among the stakeholder.
The purposes of this study were to identify dimensions of shopping orientation and preferences of fashion trade areas, to test differences in the preference factors and usage levels of fashion trade areas as determined by shopping orientation and demographic characteristics. Questionnaires were administered to 406 adults in their twenties and thirties visited major fashion trade area in Seoul. The results of the study were as follows. First, five groups were identified based on shopping orientation: combined value-oriented group, convenience-oriented group, hedonic value trend-oriented group, economic-value oriented group and brand-oriented group. Second, the most frequently visited trade area was Myungdong, and there were significant differences in the usage levels of the trade areas except Dongdaemun, Samsung station COEX, Jamsil and Gangnam Express Bus Terminal among the groups determined by shopping orientation. Sinsa Garosoogil, Apgujeong Chungdam and Samsung Station COEX were preferred by hedonic value trend-oriented group. Daehakro and Myungdong were preferred by combined value-oriented group and convenience-oriented group. Third, significant differences were also found in all groups in the preference factors of the trade area as determined by shopping orientation groups when purchasing clothing. Forth, female preferred Gangnam Express Bus Station and Jamsil than male did. Those who in their early twenties preferred Daehakro and Myungdong the most and those who in early thirties and late twenties concerned service policy the most. The results imply that the consumers tend to visit the nearest fashion trade area by their residence(or work, school) and consider the location and accessibility of the trade area as the most important factor.
In order to provide a location-based services regardless of indoor or outdoor space, it is important to provide position information of the terminal regardless of location. Among the wireless/mobile communication resources used for this purpose, Long Term Evolution (LTE) signal is a representative infrastructure that can overcome spatial limitations, but the positioning method based on the location of the base station has a disadvantage in that the accuracy is low. Therefore, a fingerprinting technique, which is a pattern recognition technology, has been widely used. The simplest yet widely applied algorithm among Fingerprint positioning technologies is k-Nearest Neighbors (kNN). However, in the kNN algorithm, it is difficult to find the optimal K value with the lowest positioning error for each location to be estimated, so it is generally fixed to an appropriate K value and used. Since the optimal K value cannot be applied to each estimated location, therefore, there is a problem in that the accuracy of the overall estimated location information is lowered. Considering this problem, this paper proposes a technique for adaptively varying the K value by using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model among Artificial Neural Network (ANN) techniques. First, by using the signal information of the measured values obtained in the service area, an image is created according to the Physical Cell Identity (PCI) and Band combination, and an answer label for supervised learning is created. Then, the structure of the CNN is modeled to classify K values through the image information of the measurements. The performance of the proposed technique is verified based on actual data measured in the testbed. As a result, it can be seen that the proposed technique improves the positioning performance compared to using a fixed K value.
