  • Emphasis on relationship management might be found out from Williamson (1975), who tried to elucidate why an organization exists. According to his transaction cost theory, an organization is established to evade opportunistic actions of the market and build up a hierarchy of value chain. However, judged from the perspective of exchange relationship in a trade, the transaction cost theory was likely to approach to buyer-seller relationship by the mechanism of competition. Therefore, an organization exists to control the competition of the market. Relationship management suggested by relationship marketing focuses on cooperation between buyers and sellers, rather than competition against each other. Relationship management aims to provide a framework for making a market relationship that might become an asset or a resource of the firm. In the process of maintaining and strengthening long-term and cooperative relationship with all stakeholders included customers, suppliers and staff, they continue to create new values. The purpose of this empirical research, by investigating how relationship management of multinational enterprises influences on their competitive advantages and performances, is to suggest that a cooperative relationship established for a long time in the market, so-called quasi-market relationship, substitutes for an organization.

  • We focused on the peer relationship of adolescent patients with schizophrenia, which usually occurs around puberty. Reviewing cases with schizophrenia and the literature extensively, we had come to the conclusion as follows;1) the most robust predictors among factors influencing the prognosis of schizophrenia are premorbid interpersonal relationship and adaptive functions. 2) Especially teachers’ reports about school life and peer relationship during school life are useful for predicting the occurrence of schizophrenia in adolescents. We described characteristic and behavioral childhood features which are important in pathogenesis of schizophrenia, based on high-risk studies and long term follow-up studies. Also, pathological profiles of the interpersonal relationship and pathology in adulthood were presented. We tried to integrate various aspects of interpersonal and social weaknesses of schizophrenics applying 'primary and secondary socialization' concept. Finally, five cases of adolescent schizophrenics were described briefly and proposal for the early detection and intervention for risk factors was introduced.

  • Greenberg(1990) suggested that organizational justice research may potentially explain many organizational behavior outcome variables. One example of nontraditional job behavior is service quality, for it is part of the spontaneous and innovative behaviors noted by Katz(1964). The first purpose of this research is to test the effects of organizational justice on service quality, and the second purpose is to test the moderating effects of sex and tenure on the relationships between organizational justice and service quality According to statistical analysis, only interactional justice had an impact on service quality. Also the results of moderating regression analysis showed that short term employees were more sensitive to distributive justice than long term employees. This result means short term employees are more interested In incentive system than long term employees.

  • Forecasting exchange rate movements is a challenging task since exchange rates impact world economy and determine value of international investments. In particular, Korean-U.S. exchange rate behavior is very important because of strong Korean and U.S. trading relationship. Neural networks models have been used for short-term prediction of exchange rate movements. Least squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) is used widely in real-world regression tasks. This paper describes the use of LS-SVM for short-term and long-term prediction of Korean-U.S. exchange rate.

  • To figure out the impact of debt financing on the profits of industrial enterprises, it starts with calculating the first differences against the logarithms of the cost profit ratios and the debt asset ratios of Chinese industrial enterprises during 179 months from 2002 to 2016; next, it runs the cointegration test and afterwards the regression test to analyze the obtained first differences, and still next uses the Simulink software to get the regularity of those changes. It finds out that there is not only a long-term stable relationship between the enterprises' profits and debts, but also a steady time series trend within a short term. The profit rate positively correlates to the debt asset ratio, and profit for the current term positively correlates to the profit for the previous term. It indicates that properly raised debts can help increase the profit rate of the industrial enterprises, and a higher previous profit level can help improve the current profit level.

  • Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), a potent gastric acid inhibitor, are widely used in gastric acid-related diseases such as gastroesophageal reflux disease and peptic ulcer, and are known as the most frequently used drugs worldwide. However, as the frequency of use increases, the number of cases of long-term PPI therapy without clear indications is increasing. Recently, there have been concerns about the risk of gastric cancer in patients with long-term PPI users. Potential mechanisms for the association between PPI and gastric cancer include enterochromaffin-like cell proliferation due to hypergastrinemia caused by gastric acid suppression, progression of atrophic gastritis, and corpus-predominant type through interaction with Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection. Several epidemiologic studies showed controversial results on the issue, and it is difficult to prove a causal relationship between PPI and gastric cancer. Nevertheless, long-term PPI should be administered cautiously based on individual risk-benefit profile, specifically among those with history of H. pylori infection, in high-risk region of gastric cancer.

  • This study analyzes customer buying-behavior patterns in a department store as time goes on, and predicts moving patterns of its customers. Through them, it suggests in this paper short-term and long-term marketing promotion strategies. RFM techniques are utilized for customer segmentation. Customers are clustered by using the Kohonen's Self Organizing Map as a method of data mining techniques. Then C5.0, a decision tree analysis technique, is used to predict moving patterns of customers. Using real world data, this study evaluates the prediction accuracy of predictive models.

  • This study empirically investigates innovative behaviors of the firm. In so doing, a Probit was employed and estimated. We used the raw data of the "corporate innovation survey"(CIS), which, in consent with OECD efforts, is regularly undertaken by the Science and Technology Policy Institute(SIEPI). The data set includes more than 3400 firms in the manufacturing sector. Three types of innovation, i.e., new product, product improvement and process innovation, are studied, assuming that determinants of innovation are firm′s age. number of employees as the size of firm, ratio of foreign ownership and innovation costs. To investigate the relationship between firm′s innovation behavior and the size, we estimate the Probit including the quadratic term of the firm size. Empirical findings showed that the sign of the quadratic term of the firm size turned out to be negative. It means that the probability of firm's making innovation shows the inversed-U relationship with the firm size. Such an empirical result may have a significant implication for the industrial policy.

  • This study investigates the relationship between Culture and online trust in three cultural dimensions: individualism, collectivism and long term orientation. For this purpose, this study proposes the empirical hypothesis to test the implication of the proposed model. The results are as follows. First, the purchase intention is influenced by the online trust in statistical sense. Second, the relationship between Culture and the antecedents of online trust are statistically established in three cultural dimensions: individualism, collectivism and long term orientation. The direction of future research is to develop the more refined hypothesis to test the empirical model in the field of on line trust and culture.

  • With increasing of Korean family's revenue and pursuing quality of life, outdoor food and meal industry is rapidly growing up. Thus employee's service quality is much more needed in this industry. This paper reviewed the relationship between employee empowerment and service quality. The first purpose of this research is to test the effects of employee empowerment on service quality, and the second purpose is to test the moderating effects of sex and tenure on the relationships between employee empowerment and service quality. According to statistical analysis, meaning, competency, and autonomy generally had an affirmative impact on many service quality factors. Also the results of moderating regression analysis showed that long term employees were more sensitive to autonomy than short term employees.
