Tofisopam is a new type of tranquilizer valuable for the relief of anxiety and tension in a wide range of emotional disorders. Tofisopam has the therapeutic characteristics of a minor tranquilzer and a mild stimulatory effect. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two tofisopam tablets, $Grandaxin^{TM}$ (Hwan In Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) and $Tofim^{TM}$ (Kyung Dong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.), according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Eighteen normal male volunteers, $23.11\;{\pm}\;2.83$ years in age and $65.43\;{\pm}\;7.64\;kg$ in body weight, were divided into two groups and a randomized $2{\times}2$ cross-over study was employed. After one tablet containing 50 mg of tofisopam was orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentrations of tofisopam in serum were determined using HPLC method with UV detector. The pharmacokinetic parameters such as $AUC_t$, $C_{max}\;and\;T_{max}$ were calculated and ANOVA test was utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters. The results showed that the differences in $AUC_t$, C_{max}\;and\;T_{max}$ between two tablets based on the $Grandaxin^{TM}$ were -5.59%, 2.22% and -13.18%, respectively. Minimum detectable differences $({\Delta})$ at ${\alpha}=0.10$ and $1-{\beta}=0.8$ were less than 20% (e.g., 14.95% and 19.34% for $AUC_t\;and\;C_{max}$, respectively). The powers $(1-{\beta})$ at ${\alpha}=0.10$, ${\Delta}=0.2$ for $AUC_t$ and $C_{max}$ were 95.21% and 81.93%, respectively. The 90% confidence intervals were within {\pm}20%$ (e.g., $-15.64{\sim}4.45$ and $-10.77{\sim}15.21$ for $AUC_t\;and\;C_{max}$, respectively). Two parameters met the criteria of KFDA for bioequivalence, indicating that $Tofim^{TM}$ tablet is bioequivalent to $Grandaxin^{TM}$ tablet.

The objective of this study is to develop a high ductile fiber reinforced mortar, ECC(Engineered Cementitious Composite) with using raw material commercially available in Korea. A single fiber pullout test and a wedge splitting test were employed to measure the bond properties in a matrix and the fracture toughness of mortar matrix respectively, which are used for designing mix proportion suitable for achieving strain-hardening behavior at a composite level. Test results showed that the properties tended to increase with decreasing water-cement ratio. A high ductile fiber reinforced mortar has been developed by employing micromechanics-based design procedure. Micromechanical analysis was initially peformed to properly select water-cement ratio, and then basic mixture proportion range was determined based on workability considerations, including desirable fiber dispersion without segregation. Subsequent direct tensile tests were performed on the composites with W/C's of 47.5% and 60% at 28 days that the fiber reinforced mortar exhibited high ductile uniaxial tension property, represented by a maximum strain capacity of 2.2%, which is around 100 times the strain capacity of normal concrete. Also, compressive tests were performed to examine high ductile fiber reinforced mortar under the compression. The test results showed that the measured value of compressive strength was from 26MPa to 34 MPa which comes under the strength of normal concrete at 28 days.
Objective : The adolescent presentation of tethered cord syndrome (TCS) is well-recognized, but continues to pose significant diagnostic and management controversies. The authors conducted a retrospective study of clinical outcomes after surgical intervention in 24 school-aged children, adolescents, and young adults with TCS. Methods : All 83 patients with a lipomyelomeningocele (LMMC) underwent untethering surgery for caudal cord tethering between 1987 and 2007. The clinical charts and follow-up data were reviewed. Of these patients, 24 school-aged children, adolescents, and young adults with TCS were studied with respect to the clinical, radiologic, pathologic features, and surgical outcomes. Results : Untethering procedures were performed in 24 patients (age range, 7-25 years) for TCS of various origins (lipoma, lipomyelomeningocele, and tight filum terminale). Specific circumstances involving additional tugging of the already tight conus, and direct trauma to the back precipitated the onset of symptom in 50% of the patients. Diffuse and non-dermatomal leg pain, often referred to the anorectal region, was the most common presenting symptom. Progressive sensorimotor deficits in the lower extremities, as well as bladder and bowel dysfunction, were also common findings, but progressive foot and spinal deformities were noted less frequently. The most common tethered lesions were intradural lipomas, thickened filum and fibrous band adhesions into the placode sac. The surgical outcome was gratifying in relation to pain and motor weakness, but disappointing with respect to resolution of bowel and bladder dysfunction. Of the 24 patients with TCS, pre-operative deficits improved after surgery in 14 (58.3%). remained stable in 8 (33.4%). and worsened in 2 (8.3%). Conclusion : The pathologic lesions of tethered cord syndrome in school-aged children, adolescents, and young adults, are mostly intradural lipomas and tight filum. It is suggested that the degree of cord traction results in neurologic dysfunction in late life due to abnormal tension, aggravated by trauma or repeated tugging of the conus during exercise. Early diagnosis and adequate surgical release might be the keys to the successful outcome in school-aged children, adolescents, and young adults with TCS.
The effect of a highly water absorbing polyacrylate polymer, commonly called K-sorb, at rates of 0.0, 0.05, 0.2, and 0.5% by weight on the water retention properties of three soils, and the longevities of these treatment effects were evaluated. Water retentions were measured for all the treatments by use of a pressure-plate extractor in the laboratory. Available water and three-phase distributions at moisture tensions of 0.01, 0.3, and 15b were calculated from water retentivity data. A randomized block experiment of Chinese cabbages was conducted to examine the effects and the longevities of the treatments(0.0, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.2%) on water retention of Jungdong sandy loam soil in the field. Water retentions for a loamy sand, sandy loam, and loam soil, treated with 0.2 and 0.5% K-sorb, were increased. K-sorb treatments were more effective in sandy soil than in loamy soils. Water contents for the 0.5% treatment were markedly greater than those for the 0.2% treatment at earth moisture tension. K-sorb only at a rate of 0.5% remained effective in water retention of each soil through repeated drying and wetting for 12 months. Duncan's multiple range showed 0.2% treatment was effective(at the level of 0.05) after 2 months but not after 10 months under field condition.
Contemporary nursing is concerned with meeting patients physical psychological and secio-economical needs and with helping persons to sore their own problems. At the time of confinement and delivery, women often have physical and psychological disco- mort related to fear, tension or anxiety. Pain related to these causes varies with the individual woman. Effective nursing care to meet individual needs during labor and delivery is important if nurses are to understand and relieve woman's physical and psychological pain. A questionnaire prepared for the purpose by the investigator was administered to 162 women in two general hospitals, one in Seoul and one in TaeGu, during August 1 and September 20, 1975 and to the 13 delivery-room nurses who cared for them. It was hoped that the study would contribute to comprehensive nursing care during labor and delivery and to improve maternal and child health. 1. The sample of mothers ranged in age from 18 to 39; the majority were from 25 to 29 years old (54.3%). Most of them were housewives (87.6%). Sixty-three percent had high school or higher education. They had a range of one to seven deliveries. Sixty-one percent were primiparas Most had some prenatal care (87.6%). 2. The age of the group of nurses ranged from 22 to 39. Ten were 22 or 23. Five of the 13 had from six to ten months experience in the de]ivory room. Twelve were single and ten had a religious affiliation. 3. Both primiparas and multiparas thought equally that physical and psychological care, nursing skills and attitudes were important during labor and delivery, but did not relate basic nursing care directly to normal delivery. Need for nursing care was rated more highly by primiparas (2.83-3.48) than by multiparas (2.51-3.17) (p〈0.05). 4. There was no difference in need for nursing care according to the educational level of the women nor according to whether they had a religious affiliation or not (p〉0.05). 5. There was no difference in the reported nursing care given regarding of the educational preparation of the nurses (p〉 0.05). 6. There the reported nursing needs of the women and the reported nursing care given were compared, physical and psychological nursing care directed toward protecting the mother and fetus and a safe do]ivory were considered important by both groups. Neither group related simple nursing care directly to protection of the mother and fetus or to a safe delivery. The women rated highly their needs for nourishment (3.05) and having a relative with them (2.90) for emotional support but there was little evidence (2.39) that the nurses provided care to meet these needs (p〈0.05). In conclusion, the nursing needs of the women during the three stages of labor and the nursing care given were generally similar. The women had more psychological needs than physical needs but in comparison, nurses gave a little more physical than psychological care. The results point up the need to make adjustments in labor and delivery room nursing care the nurse should Prepared to pay more attention and bigger consideration in psychological comfort care than physical care.
Ultra-high strength concrete which have 100 MPa compressive strength or higher can be developed applying RPC(Reactive Powder Concrete). Preventing brittle failure under compression and tension, ultra-high strength concrete usually use the steel fibers as reinforcements. For the effective use of steel fiber reinforced ultra-high strength concrete, estimation of tensile strength is very important. However, there are insufficient research results are available with no relation between them. Therefore, in this study, correlation between compressive strength and tensile strength of ultra-high strength concrete was investigated by test and statistical analysis. According to test results, increasing tendency of tensile strength was also shown in the range of ultra-high strength. Evaluation of test results of this study and collected test results were carried out. Using 284 splitting test specimens and 265 flexural test specimens, equations suggested by previous researchers cannot be applied to ultra-high strength concrete. Therefore, using database and test results, regression analysis was carried out and we suggested new equation for splitting and flexural tensile strength of steel fiber reinforced ultra-high strength concrete.

Poly-acrylonitrile (PAN) based carbon fibers were stabilized under various tensions in the presence of air at about $200^{\circ}C$ and sequentially carbonized under some different gas environments in the range of 700 to $1500^{\circ}C$. The prepared carbon fibers were used for rechargeable lithium ion battery anode to investigate preparation parameters effects on electrochemical characteristics. It was found that the tension during stabilization, carbonization temperature and gas atmospheres affect the carbon fiber properties such as conductivity, mechanical strength, surface morphology and diffusion coefficient of lithium ion, which are closely related to the on electrolchemical properties as well as the charge/discharge characteristics.

In a photoelastic experiment, it is necessary to know the material stress fringe constant of the photoelastic specimen to determine the stresses from the measured isochromatic fringe orders. The material stress fringe constant can be obtained using a simple tension specimen and/or a circular disk under diametric compression. In these methods, there is generally a need to apply numerous loads to the specimen in response to the relationship of the fringe order. Then, the least squares method is used to obtain the material constant. In this paper, the fringe orders that appear on a four-point bending specimen are used to determine the fringe constant. This method requires four photoelastic fringes obtained from a circular polariscope by rotating the analyzer to 0, ${\pi}/4$, ${\pi}/2$, and $3{\pi}/4$ radians. Using the four-point bending specimen to determine the material stress fringe constant has an advantage because measurements can be made at different locations by applying a constant load. The stress fringe constant measured with this method is within the range suggested by the manufacturer of the photoelastic material.

A series of test was performed measuring the failure strength and failure mode of Gr/Pi, $[0^{\circ}/45^{\circ}/90^{\circ}/-45^{\circ}]_s$ laminate containing a single pin loaded hole. The finite element method is applied to calculate the stress distribution in the laminates, then the failure load and the failure mode were predicted by means of the characteristic length. 12 different geometric variations were developed to analyze the effects of the ratio of specimen width to hole diameter (W/d) and ratio of edge distance to hole diameter (L/d). X-Ray of NDE methods were utilized in finding out the initial defects, damage and the fracture mechanism, and SEM(Scanning Electron Microscopes) was used the evaluation of the fracture mechanism and crack propagation around hole under tension pin loading. $[0^{\circ}/45^{\circ}/90^{\circ}/-45^{\circ}]_s$ laminate are found to be most sensitive to W/d but not so influenced by L/d. The failure mode and tensile strength predicted by the model show agreement with experiment data for pin loading bolted jointed test except range of $L/d{\leqq}3$.
This study conducted uniaxial tension tests on D10, D19, D29, and D35 SD400 steel-grade rebar and evaluated the strain distributions and necking regions to provide basic data for resolving differences between evaluation methods. Owing to the limitations of the existing measurement methods, this study conducted detailed evaluations of the strain of the rebar and necking regions using image processing, which is almost limitless on the measurement range and can easily distinguish measurement regions. The strain was concentrated at the region where necking occurred when the rebar approached its ultimate strength, which was successfully confirmed through image processing. The correlation between the length of the necking region and the diameter of the rebar could be analyzed by evaluating the necking region that occurs during the ultimate behavior of the rebar. According to the results, the length of the necking region is around 1.5~2.5 times the diameter of the rebar.
