In the current research an advanced criterion with non-associated flow rule (non-AFR) for depicting the behavior of anisotropic sheet metals is presented to consider the strength differential effects (SDEs) for these materials. Owing to the fact that Lou et al. (2013) yield function is dependent on structure of an anisotropic material (BCC, FCC and HCP), an advanced yield function with inspiring of Yoon et al. (2014) yield function is proposed which is dependent upon anisotropic structures. Furthermore, to compute Lankford coefficients, a new pressure sensitive plastic potential function which would be dependent to anisotropic structure is presented and coupled with the proposed yield function with employing a non-AFR in a novel criterion which is called here 'dvanced criterion'. Totally eighteen experimental data are required to calibrate the criterion contained of directional tensile and compressive yield stresses for the yield function and directional Lankford coefficients for the plastic potential function. To verify the criterion, three anisotropic sheet metals with different structures are taken as case studies such as Al 2008-T4 (a BCC material), Al 2090-T3 (a FCC material) and AZ31 (a HCP material).
This study was performed to investigate the effect of austempering temperature on the mechanical properties and fracture characteristics of the ductile cast iron with Cu, Mo and Cu, Mo, Ni. The results obtained from this study are summarized as follows; Microstructures of Cu-Mo and Cu-Mo-Ni ductile cast iron by austempering were obtained low bainite with some martensite at $250^{\circ}C$, mixture structure of upper and low bainite obtained at $300^{\circ}C$ and upper bainite obtained at $350^{\circ}C$. Tensile, impact and fracture toughness properties were remarkably controlled by retained austenite. With increasing austempering temperature, tensile and yield strength, hardness decreased, while the elongation and impact absorption energy, fracture toughness increased. With adding Ni, tensile and yield strength increased and elongation, facture toughness and impact absorption energy decreased. Retained austenite increased with increasing austempering temperature and the fracture surface were shown mixture structure of fibrous and dimple.
Titanium alloys have been attractive due to a high ratio of strength to weight as well as good corrosion resistance. However, strengthening causes a decrease in ductility in Ti alloys, as is usual in other alloys. For enhanced strength without ductility reduction, grain refinement and tensile properties were investigated as functions of thickness reduction of cold rolling and annealing condition in Ti-15V-3Cr-3Sn-3Al alloy with a ${\beta}$ single phase. The average grain size of the specimen, which was cold-rolled by 90% and annealed at 700$^{\circ}C$ for 5 min, was decreased to approximately 19 ${\mu}m$. The grain refinement of 63 μm to 19 ${\mu}m$ increased yield stress by 90 MPa without a significant decrease in total elongation. The Ti-15-3 alloy exhibited very low work hardening during tensile test at a crosshead speed of 2 mm/min. This result was discussed based on dynamic recovery associated with dislocation annihilation in grain boundaries.
A series of Ni-Cr-Mo alloy steels were austenitized, quenched to martensite, and tempered at various temperature and time conditions. Tensile testing was conducted at room temperature with cylindrical specimens, and hardness was measured using Rockwell hardness tester. In the tempering stage I, high strain hardening and yield strength accounted for the high ultimate strength and hardness. In the tempering stage II, strengths and hardness linearly decreased with increasing tempering temperature. Specimens tempered in the temperin stage III showed incipient discontinuous yielding and tensile strengths only slightly higher than yield strengths. Ductilities decreased slightly in specimens tempered in the tempered martensite embrittlement range, and severely decreased in specimens tempered for 10 hours at $500^{\circ}C$ in the temper embrittlement range. Specimens tempered at $600^{\circ}C$ for 10 hours showed recrystallized microstructures, a number of fine dimples, and increased strain hardening, probably due to the precipitation of alloy carbides. The simple formulae for the mechanical properties of these steels were suggested as a function of carbon content and Hollomon-Jaffe tempering parameter.

Estimation of tensile properties measurement uncertainty of material was carried out. Sources of uncertainty affecting the measurement of tensile properties were classified and analyzed. The models for uncertainty evaluation of measurands to be determined from tensile test, such as elastic modulus, yield strength and tensile strength, were suggested and derived from the mathematical relations, corresponding to the respective measurands, and the measuring quantities by calculating each sensitivity coefficient of the quantities. Based on these models, the uncertainty of the tensile properties was evaluated from the experimental data of SUS316LN determined according to ISO 6892.

In this paper the intrinsic influence of micron-sized nickel particle reinforcements on microstructure, micro-hardness tensile properties and tensile fracture behavior of nano-alumina particle reinforced magnesium alloy AZ31 composite is presented and discussed. The unreinforced magnesium alloy (AZ31) and the reinforced nanocomposite counterpart (AZ31/1.5 vol.% $Al_2O_3$/1.5 vol.% Ni] were manufactured by solidification processing followed by hot extrusion. The elastic modulus and yield strength of the nickel particle-reinforced magnesium alloy nano-composite was higher than both the unreinforced magnesium alloy and the unreinforced magnesium alloy nanocomposite (AZ31/1.5 vol.% $Al_2O_3$). The ultimate tensile strength of the nickel particle reinforced composite was noticeably lower than both the unreinforced nano-composite and the monolithic alloy (AZ31). The ductility, quantified by elongation-to-failure, of the reinforced nanocomposite was noticeably higher than both the unreinforced nano-composite and the monolithic alloy. Tensile fracture behavior of this novel material was essentially normal to the far-field stress axis and revealed microscopic features reminiscent of the occurrence of locally ductile failure mechanisms at the fine microscopic level.
In this study, the tensile tests and hardness tests were carried out for the joints characteristics in friction stir welds of Al 5052 alloy. Three way factorial design was applied to optimal welding conditions, whose control factors were shoulder diameter, rotation speed and welding speed of tool. From the results of this study, the optimum condition for maximum yield strength was predicted as the shoulder diameter of 15 mm, welding speed of 500mm/min and rotating speed of 1000 rpm. And the presumed optimal yield strength was estimated to be $167.36{\pm}7.82MPa$ with 99% reliability. In addition the increaser rotation speed of tool and the decreaser welding speed, the decreaser the hardness at welding part.
Twinning-induced plasticity (TWIP) steels have attracted great attention due to their excellent mechanical properties of high tensile strength (over 800MPa) and high ductility (over 50%), which result from the high strain hardening due to the mechanical twin formation during plastic deformation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of annealing temperature and alloying elements on the mechanical properties of Fe-18Mn-0.6C TWIP steel. In 1.5%Al TWIP steel with 0.123%Ti content, the average recrystallized grain size was reduced to 2.5 ${\mu}m$ by cold rolling and annealing at $800^{\circ}C$ for 5 min, because of the pinning effect of the fine TiC carbides on grain coarsening. The tensile strength was decreased and the ductility was improved with the increase of the annealing temperature. However, a reversion of hardness and yield strength happened between $750^{\circ}C$ and $800^{\circ}C$ due to TiC and $M_3C$ type precipitation. 0.56% Ni added TWIP steel exhibited relatively lower yield strength, because Ni precipitates were not formed during the annealing process. When this specimen was annealed at $800^{\circ}C$ for 5min, the tensile strength and elongation were revealed at 1096MPa and 61.8%, respectively.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate their mechanical properties after laser-welding or soldering of precious and non-precious dental alloys. For this study, 30 Co-Cr alloy specimens, 15 gold alloy specimens, 15 palladium alloy specimens were casted and seperated on the middle area. 15 sperated Co-Cr specimens and 15 seperated gold alloy specimens were laser welded (GW Group). 15 sperated Co-Cr specimens and 15 sperated gold alloy specimens were soldered by coventional soldering method (GS Group). 15 sperated Co-Cr specimens and 15 seperated palladium alloy specimens were laser welded (PW Group). 15 sperated Co-Cr specimens and 15 sperated palladium alloy specimens were soldered by coventional soldering method (PS Group). Tensile strength, 0.2% yield strength, % elongation were recorded in nine specimens of each group. Bending strength were record in six specimens of each group. These data for four groups were subjected to a two-way analysis of variance(ANOVA). The fracture locations, fractured surfaces were examined by SEM(scanning electron microscope). The results were as following: 1) In the same alloy combination, the tensile strength and 0.2% yield strength and of the laser welded group with same metal combination were significantly less than soldered groups(p<0.05). 2) In the combination of Co-Cr/Palladium, the bending strength of laser welded group were significantly less than that of soldered groups(p<0.05). In the combination of Co-Cr/Gold, the bending strength of laser welded group were significantly higher than that of soldered groups(p<0.05). 3) In the same method of joint, the tensile strength and 0.2% yield strength and bending strength of the Co-Cr/gold were significantly higher than Co-Cr/palladium(p<0.05). 4) There was no significantly statistical difference between each group in the % elongation(p>0.05). 5) The fracture of the laser welded specimens occured in the welding area and a large void was observed at the center of the fracture surface. 6) The fracture of the soldered specimens occured also inthe soldered area and many porpsities were showed at the fracture sites.
Over the past few decades, high-nitrogen austenitic steels have steadily received greater attention since they provide a unique combination of high strength and ductility, good corrosion resistance, and non-magnetic properties. Recently, highnitrogen 18Mn-18Cr austenitic steels with enhanced strength have been developed and widely used for generator retaining rings in order to prevent the copper wiring from being displaced by the centrifugal forces occurring during high-speed rotation. The high-nitrogen austenitic steels for generator retaining ring should be expanded at room temperature and then stress relief annealed at around $400^{\circ}C$ to achieve the required mechanical properties. In this study, four kinds of high-nitrogen 18Mn-18Cr austenitic steels with different nitrogen content were fabricated by using a pressurized vacuum induction melting furnace, and then the effects of nitrogen content, cold working, and stress relieving on tensile properties were investigated. The yield and tensile strengths increased proportionally with increasing nitrogen content and cold working, and they further increased after stress relieving treatment. Based on these results, a semi-empirical equation was proposed to predict the tensile strength of highnitrogen 18Mn-18Cr austenitic steels for generator retaining rings. It will be a useful for the effective fabrication of high-nitrogen 18Mn-18Cr austenitic steels for generator retaining rings with the required tensile properties.
