  • The effect of loading path changes on the strain and mechanical properties of a commercial pure aluminum was studied using flat rolling and groove rolling. Material during flat rolling undergoes a continuous monotonic compressive loading, while one during groove rolling experiences a series of cross compressive loading. Four-pass flat rolling and groove rolling experiment are designed such that the aluminum undergoes the same amount of the strain at each pass. The rolling experiment was performed at room temperatures. Specimens for tensile test are fabricated from the plate and bar rolled. In addition, the strain distribution for the plate and bar cold rolled specimens is also calculated by finite element method. The results reveal that differences of loading path attributed by monotonic loading(flat rolling) and cross loading(groove rolling) significantly influence the mechanical properties such as yield stress, ultimate tensile stress, strain hardening and elongation. It is clear that the different loading path can give raise to change the deformation history, although it is deformed with same amount of strain for same material.

  • People's interest in the environmental problems of the Earth is growing as they come to the modern world, and research is being actively conducted on how to protect the environment. As a result, the automobile industry, one of the causes of environmental pollution, is also affected. Therefore, research is being conducted to improve the fuel economy and light weight of cars, development of pollution-free cars such as electric cars, and aluminium materials that are lighter than ordinary steel sheets and easier to recycle are gaining attention. In this experiment, the material was formed to form a form of aluminium and the material reduction rate of the side wall of the foam was tested according to the amount of side wall. The material used in the experiment was A3003-O, which is less plastic than normal steel plates, but has excellent corrosion resistance, plasticity and weldability compared to aluminium materials, but has poor tensile strength. For tensile testing, a certain array of Forming Shapes was molded and the height of the Forming was set to 5mm, and the height of the Forming was 4.7mm, indicating that the difference between the first 5mm Forming and the height was not large. In addition, the material reduction rate was tested by giving 15, 0, and -0.15 teas, respectively, and was found to be valuable as a product only for -0.15.

  • The goal of this study is to provide beauticians with the fundamental material to use effectively heat permanent wave in beauty industry as well as their customer's satisfaction. It carried out an experiment with damaged hair of a woman in her late twenties to investigate the change of physical and morphological characteristics by its water content when performing heat permanent wave. After spreading 0g, 1g, 2g, 3g, and 4g of water on damaged hair respectively, heat permanent wave was treated and the change of hair was observed. The change of physical characteristic was compared through permanent wave form of hair, tensile strength and elongation. The change of morphological characteristic was observed through Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscope(TEM). The result of experiment on the physical specificity revealed that permanent wave form was the most ideal when the water content was 2g, also 3g. Though the materials with much moisture content formed the results were not satisfied. The material with 0g of water content didn't make the wave. In terms of tensile strength and elongation, tensile strength was generally reduced as per the damaged degree of hair. On the contrary, elongation was increased. It observed the changes of morphological characteristic that the damage on hair cuticle was deepen, as its moisture content was decreased, and cuticle's surface was worn away. The observation of fine structure on hair section by transmission electronic microscope also certainly showed the result that damaged hair having experience with chemical treatment had got much damaged to hair cuticle as well as hair cortex. Generally chemical treatment makes hair damaged. Under consideration of this aspect, the ultimate goal of this thesis is to minimize the damage of hair caused by chemical treatment and get the satisfaction on the hair style. According to the result of experiment, the damaged hair whose moisture content was 3g showed the best permanent wave form.

  • Resin Transfer Molding FRP (RTM FRP) is a fiber reinforced polymeric plastic which is manufactured by applying pressure to fibers, injecting resin into a mold, and then impregnating it. RTM FRP is a new construction material suitable for producing non-continuum structural elements such as sole plate because it has excellent strength and can produce many members in a short time. In this study, experiments were conducted to estimate the capacity of the bolted connection of RTM FRP. First, a tensile test was conducted to confirm the mechanical properties such as the tensile strength of the RTM FRP to be used for the bolted connection experiments. In addition, experiments were conducted on the bolted connection with the thickness of the RTM FRP and the edge distance of the bolt as variables. In the first experiment, F4.8 bolts were used, and shear failure of the bolt occurred before the RTM FRPs were failed. The F4.8 bolt is a general structural bolts used for the sole plate of a bridge bearing, and it was confirmed that the RTM FRP has a higher bold bearing strength than the shear strength of a F4.8 bolt. In the second experiment, G12.9 bolts were used, and shear failure of the bolt and bearing failure of the RTM FRP occurred simultaneously. In addition, as the thickness of the RTM FRP and the edge length of the bolt increased, the strength of the joint increased. When analogized with the bearing fracture equation of steel plate, the bolted connection of RTM FRP showed a bearing strength coefficient of 0.420 to 0.549 compared to the tensile strength, and it is considered that further research is needed.

  • This study measured the shearing resistance of the roots of the Pinus Koraiensis by the tensile strength gained through their individual tensile test for the Root Reinforcement Model. On the basis of the shearing resistance value calculated through such a process the factor of safety(Fs) was comparatively presented by using the simplified Janbu Method in PCSTABL5M, the slop-analyzing software which had been developed in Purdue University of the U.S.A according to the shape of a slope and the type of soil. The results to have measured a stress and the factor of safety(Fs) by experiment are as follows. 1) The mean root diameter of the Pinus Koraiensis used for this experiment was 2.483mm and the mean tensile stress was calculated as 422.846(kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$). In the strain ratio of material and the elastic modulus was measured 7.8%, 9,291.92(kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$). 2) The shearing strength including the resistance of soil and root is expressed as Rt=C+Cr+$\sigma$.tan . ΔCr(kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$) of the shearing resistance calculated by estimating the areal ratio of roots at 10 is 0.253(kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$). 3) As the result of making an analysis of the natural slope stability by the soil parameter, the factor of safety(Fs) was calculated at 1.795 in CL, and the stability analysis of the root reinforcement slope, Fs was calculated at 1.952. However, since a precise analysis of the controlled factors of the slope analyses are demanded for more accurate dynamic analyses, the future demands a study on this.

  • This paper focused on square steel tubular column to H-beam connections (concrete filled tubular) with an outside-type diaphragm. Based on the yield line theory and the nonlinear static FEM analysis the specification equations were evaluated by comparing them with previous result of the simplified tensile experiment[please check. The yield line theory applied to the mechanical model theory revised by K. Morita, the nonlinear static FEM analysis using abaqus/standard, the ultimate strength equation in the specification equation using the factor for long-time loading, and the yield ratio according to material. The allowable strength in the specification equations applied the safety factors of 2.2 and 2.6 in the cases with and without filled concrete, respectively. Therefore, the evaluation of strength(for the previous result of the simplified tensile experiment in this study) was considered possible through the yield line theory, the nonlinear static FEM analysis, and the specification equations. Likewise, the specification equations were seen to be an underestimate of the previous result of the simplified tensile experiment. The strength and displaced mesh in the FEM analysis approximated the previous result of the simplified tensile experiment.

  • In this experiment no solvent based polyurethane(PU) adhesives were prepared with the polyol, isocyanate, dioctyl phthalate(DOP), 2-hydroxyethylacrylate(2-HEA) and other acrylate monomers. The softenening point of the PU adhesives measured by Ring & Ball method were examined in the present study. And adhesion strength and mechanical properties such as tensile strength and 100% modulus of the PU adhesives were evaluated by Universal Test Machine. The experimental results showed that increase of both DPE-41, benzoylperoxide(BPO) and toluene diisocyanate(TDI) increased softenening point, adhesion strength, tensile strength and 100% modulus. However as DOP content increased sofenening point, adhesion strength decreased and tensile strength, 100% modulus also decreased.

  • This study practiced to observe the creep behavior at specific temperature on Austentic SUB 27 stainless steel by Moire method. The results obtained from this study are summarized as follows; In tensile experiment, tensile strength and yielding strength decrease as the temperature increases. Yielding strength is equivalent to 60-70% of tensile strength. Reduction of Area and Elongation show minimum values at 300.deg. C. The results of Moire method using Moire heating resisting grid coincide with LVDT result. Therefor, It is proved that the Moire method has great merit in strain measurement of a creep behavior. In homologous at temp. 0.2 or less, creep behavior is very small amount. But, in more than 0.3, creep behavior is very active. Creep rate increase as temperature increase and creep rate is proportional to .alpha. values of experimental equation.
