With the development of digital satellite communication technology and the widespread use of smart devices, the demand for data communication in the maritime ship has increased. Recently, the communication between the maritime ship and the land is based on Inmarsat satellite service. The Inmarsat provides telephone, fax, data and telex service etc. However, since the satellite is payper-seconds billing service, the transmission of whole web contents to the maritime ship through the satellite causes high cost. In this paper, we propose web browsing system architecture that reduces the data traffic on the satellite link and retransmits the content selectively in order to solve these problems.

Due to the complicated steel structure and safety concern, it is very difficult to deploy wireless networks in power plants. This paper presents a hybrid network, named as $P^2HYMN$ (Power Plant HYbrid Maintenance Network), encompassing PLC (Power Line Communication), TLC (Telephone Line Communication), and Wireless LAN. The design goal of $P^2HYMN$ is to integrate multimedia data such as design drawings of control equipment, process data, and video image data for maintenance operation in electric power plants. A Multiplex Line Communication (MLC) device was designed and implemented to integrate PLC, TLC, and Wireless LAN into $P^2HYMN$. Performance test of $P^2HYMN$ has been conducted on a testbed under various conditions. The throughput of TLC was shown as 39 Mbps. Because the bandwidth requirement per camera is 8.5 Mbps on average, TLC is expected to support more thant four video camera at the same time.

The paper aims to examine the association between information and communication technology (ICT), economic growth and population health based on health production model in Malaysia. This theoretical health production function is represented as follows: where the output is an individual health outcome, and the inputs are determinants of health, such as income, education, health care costs, medical facilities, the environment, and lifestyle. The development of information and communication technologies are represented as of mobile cellular subscriptions (per 100) and fixed telephone subscriptions (100) using time series data from 1993-2017 from the World Bank database. Using the bound testing technique of cointegration, this study finds that ICT affects population health significantly and positively in the long- and short-run. This is because ICT inclusion improves human health and longevity. Whereas, economic growth has no significant impact on the population's health both in the short- and long-run. The findings indicate that a weak global economy affects Malaysia's economic growth and reduces the health expenditure per capita. The results of this study suggest that policymakers must develop policies that improves public health by increasing health literacy, disseminating health information and facilitating medical facilities. This study also suggests that health care systems should to concentrate on digital inclusion.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate environmental characteristics of maternity rooms. The method of this study is a field survey on 8 samples of postpartum care centers in Seoul. The plan, colors, materials, furniture and environmental characteristics of maternity rooms are analyzed. The characteristics of maternity rooms environment were categorized into four items; comfort, privacy, communication and dwelling. The results are as follows: Western-style and rooming-separation system of maternity rooms are used. Maternity rooms are generally good for dwelling quality but insufficient for communication. There are a lack of supply to control a temperature Individually in maternity rooms. It demands to make the type of one-sided public space between maternity room and living room for privacy. All of the maternity rooms surveyed are furnished with TV, radio, and telephone but, to improve communication with visitors, it is recommended that more convenient supplies such as audio and video system, chairs, and table be equipped. There are needs for sky-light windows in maternity rooms. It is necessary to research more about the space of living room, nursing room and service area, and we need more study about baby, nurser and owner' spaces.

Information and communication technology (ICT) is one of the primary zones that stimulates economic development in today's globalized world. It promotes technological developments in worldwide communication and manufacturing systems, as well as economic growth and development. Many economic activities, such as international trade and foreign direct investment, rely heavily on contemporary information and communications technologies (FDI). The goal of this study is to look at the dynamic relationship between FDI, ICT, trade openness, and economic growth in the context of BRICS countries from 2000 to 2018, with Gross Domestic Product as the dependent variable and Telephone subscriptions, Mobile subscriptions, Broadband subscriptions, Internet subscribers, Secure internet servers, Trade, and Foreign direct investment as the independent variables.Two variables are used as proxies to manage the macroeconomic environment, while five variables are used as proxies for ICT infrastructures. The outcomes of this study are analyzed using Generalized Methods of Movements (GMM). According to this study, ICT has a positive impact on the economic growth of a few countries. Trade openness and foreign direct investment, on the other hand, have a negative impact on economic growth. As growing countries, the BRICS must participate in economic reform and liberalization measures. This report suggests policy proposals for improving ICT standards, focusing especially on economic growth, trade openness, and increasing foreign investment in the BRICS countries.

In light of the recent advancement in networking and information technology, the direct information request through website has increasingly proven to be the preferred means over visiting physical archives. Thus, the proper utilization of a communication tool capable of sufficiently capturing user feedback and requests is an absolute necessity. This paper examines the availability and utilization of alternative user participatory communication tools in government websites with particular focus on the archives in South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, China, and Japan. In assessing the use of alternative user participatory communication tools in these archives, we examined the availability of communication mediums other than the online forums, email, and telephone with particular focus on social media tools that may offer a degree of familiarity for the user. Our research indicates that the most frequently utilized social media tool is Facebook while the archive offering the greatest variety of alternative user participatory communication tools was the United States archive.

IMO has made AIS and VHF mandatory for international sailing vessels through SOLAS, and korea if mandating specific vessels through the law for safety of vessels and the ship installation technology standards. However, due to various communication equipments and complicated usage method, malfunction occurs, and the response delay to the actual structure signal often causes human accidents. So recently, as a part of GMDSS modernization, maritime communication devices are attempting to interwork and integrate different types of marine communication system in order to construct a next generation maritime communication system. In this paper, we describe a technique to implement the DSC function by interlocking and integrating the AIS device and VHF. We will present the basis for achieving domestic technical standards and standardization through the linking algorithm of the data that can extract the ship information from AIS and utilize it the DSC function of VHF.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the current status and contents of communication courses in dental hygiene programs in South Korea. Methods: Survey on dental communication training courses was done, and 51 schools (62.2%) responded among a total of 82 dental hygiene schools in Korea. The questionnaire was sent via e-mail and additional telephone calls were used to facilitate response. Statistical analysis and frequency analysis were done through SPSS 23.0 for windows program (copyright(c) SPSS Inc., USA). Results: The current establishment rates of dental communication courses in 3-year or 4-year dental hygiene programs were 96.9% and 84.2%, respectively. Such courses were identified as graduation requirement courses in 38.7% of the 3-year hygiene programs and 62.5% of the 4-year dental hygiene programs. When practical training sessions are included within such courses, 70% of such courses included 'discussion and presentation' and 'audio-visual aids' as a part of their contents, while 48.3% of them were utilizing 'role-playing'. Conclusions: As dental communication is one of the most important core competencies of dental hygienists, it should be included as a required course for graduation, and practical training such as 'role-playing' should be implemented in order to enhance communication skills in students.

The current study examined the effects of the voters' perception of television news coverage of election poll results on their political participation intention. 700 voters participated in a telephone interview three weeks before the 2012 Korean presidential election. A structural equation modeling with the nationally representative sample was performed. The findings indicate the respondents were more likely to evaluate television news coverage of election poll results negatively when the news coverage presented that the candidate they supported was behind in the race, and the negative evaluation was linked to a greater third-person perception. The third-person perception, in turn, had an indirect effect on political participation intention through negative emotional responses. The results imply that voters' political position influences their perception of the television news coverage of election poll results, and this perception can have indirect effects on political participation.
