  • The orientational cross-over phenomena in an RF sputtering growth of TiN films were studied in an in-situ, real-time synchrotron x-ray scattering experiment. For the films grown with pure Ar sputtering gas, the cross-over from the more strained (002)-oriented grains to the less strained (111)-oriented grains occurred as the film thickness was increased. As the sputtering power was increased, the cross-over thickness, at which the growth orientation changes from the <002> to the <111> direction, was decreased. The addition of $N_2$ besides Ar as sputtering gas suppressed the cross-over, and consequently resulted in the (002) preferred orientation without exhibiting the cross-over. We attribute the observed cross-over phenomena to the competition between the surface and the strain energy. The x-ray powder diffraction, the x-ray reflectivity, and the ex-situ AFM surface topology study consistently suggest that the microscopic growth front was in fact always the (002) planes. In the initial stage of growth, the (002) planes were aligned to the substrate surface to minimize the surface energy. At later stages, however, the (002) growth front tilted away from the surface by about $60^{\circ}$ to relax the strain, which caused the cross-over of the preferred growth direction to the <111> direction.

  • The main purpose of the present study are as follows: First, through the extensive literature review, we tried to find out environmental changes in the management thoughts. Second, as we found a new paradigm on valuation-oriented management thoughts, we argued that cost/management accounting information should play key roles in creating values. Third, we pointed out that when firms used only financial performance measurements, problems could take places. Finally, especially to promote the organizational effectiveness and efficiency, we stressed that firms should use the balanced scorecard approach in performance measurements of its own organizations and personnels.

  • The information security industry has seen a wide variety of growth over the past few decades. In particular, various solutions have been proposed in terms of technology, management, and institutional aspects. Nevertheless, it should be notedthat security accidents continue to occur every year. This proves that there are limitations to various business changes in the digital era as existing security is being promoted with technology-oriented and prevention-oriented policies. Thus, people-centric security (PCS) has recently become a hot topic in order to escape the limitations of traditional securityapproaches. Through the concept of information security violations, PCS strategic principles, and expert interviews, this studyaims to present a fundamental security incident response plan by classifying human-caused vulnerabilities into 5 categories and classifying them into 21 detailed components.

  • The effectiveness of online discussions depends on how learners interact with each other. Instructors should provide adaptive supports to learners with difficulty in sharing their opinions and questions with others. Social network analysis can provide insights into the dynamics of interactions in online discussions. This study explored how learners' achievement goals affect learners' centrality in a social network. For this study, 107 undergraduates enrolled at a university in South Korea participated in the online discussion over a week. This study found that achievement goals influenced the time of first writing and the types of online discussion messages, which were grouped into active participation, critique-oriented, and idea-oriented clusters. Although achievement goals did not significantly influence in-degree centrality, the time of first writing and the message types had significant effects on it. For outdegree centrality, mastery approach goals and the message types had significant effects. Learners of the active participation cluster showed higher in-degree and out-degree centrality than the others. This study implies that instructors should help learners experience more meaningful interactions in online discussions by enhancing mastery approach goals and providing scaffoldings for early participation and diverse types of messages.
