  • Since IT industry has changed very rapidly in technology, market environments, the cyber communities raise new social space. In spite of such growth of cyber communities, academic discussion is relatively limited. This Paper suggested several factors that affect the level of participator's loyalty on cyber communities. Participator's loyalty was classified into two categories, the psychological loyalty, which measure the psychological responses, and the behavior loyalty, which measure the absorption of time, the volume and frequency of visit to cyber communities. Consequently, this research has showed social awareness about cyber community culture and suggested the strategy directions for customer-oriented cyber Community Company.

  • The anti-plane shear problem of bonded elastic materials containing a crack at an arbitrary angle to the graded interfacial zone is investigated in this paper The interfacial zone is modeled as a nonhomogeneous interlayer of finite thickness with the continuously varying shear modulus between the two dissimilar, homogeneous half-planes. Formulation of the crack problem is based upon the use of the Fourier integral transform method and the coordinate transformations of basic field variables. The resulting Cauchy-type singular integral equation is solved numerically to provide the values of mode 111 stress intensity factors. A comprehensive parametric study is then presented of the influence of crack obliquity on the stress intensity factors for different crack size and locations and for different material combinations, in conjunction with the material nonhomogeneity within the graded interfacial zone.

  • There have been continuous efforts for developing the automatic mechanical design system to increase the efficiency of the tedious design process. However, these efforts have been concentrated on single platform application. Hence, the developed systems have been available only in a designated place and time and have been difficult to modify. It is proposed in this study that a web-based design system is developed to offer more reliability and convenience without any restriction of tine and place. The developed system is programed based on Java, and architecture of the system has object-oriented features of Servlet and JSP and is independent on any operating systems. The developed system has been applied to the initial design of multi-stage gear dirves but however as the framework of the developed system is quite versatile, its application to automatic design of any mechanical system or evaluation can be easily expected.

  • A monitoring and control system, as a broker to connect work-fields with higher departs, gives a great effect on capacity and reliability of a manufacturing system. However, it is very difficult to construct an integrated monitoring control system in a shop with diverse equipment. This paper proposes a CORBA based scheme to construct an integrated system for monitoring and control of equipment in a machining shop. The system is developed by applying the object oriented technology. Thus, its design and maintenance are not only early but it can cope with variation of production situation flexibly. Finally, we introduce a prototype using a milling machine, a robot, PLC's, etc.

  • As information technology advances rapidly, various smart devices are becoming an essential element in our lives. Smart devices are providing services to users through applications up on the operating system. Operating systems have a variety of rules, such as scheduling applications and controlling hardwares. Among those rules, it is significant to protect private information in the information-oriented society. Therefore, isolation task, that makes certain memory space separated for each application, should highly be guaranteed. However, modern operating system offers the function to access the memory space from other applications for the sake of debugging. If this ability is misused, private information can be leaked or modified. Even though the access authority to memory is strictly managed, there exist cases found exploited. In this paper, we analyze the problems of the function provided in the Android environment that is the most popular and opened operating system. Also, we discuss how to avoid such kind of problems and verify with experiments.

  • This paper proposes a memory intensive VLSI architecture for the realization of real-time 3x3 neighborhood processor based on the distributed arithmetic. The proposed architecture is characterized by a bit serial and multi-kernel parallel processing which exploits the pixel kernel parallelism and concurrency. The chip implements 8 neighborhood processing elements in parallel with efficirnt input and output modules which operate concurrently. Besides the a4chitectural design of a neighborhood processor, the design methodology using module generator concept has been considered and MOGOT(MOdule Generator Oriented VLSI design Tool) has been constructed based on the workstation. Based on these design environments MOGOT, it has been shown that the main part of the suggested architecture can be designed efficiently using 2\ulcorner double metal CMOS technology. It includes design of input delay and data conversion module, look-up table for inner product operation, carry save accumulator, output data converter and delay module, and control module.

  • Future-oriented train design should be able to provide highly refined traffic culture and public transportation service by achieving 'higher value addition, sensitization, and humanization' and then securing safety, convenience, and amenity. Therefore, design of FRT, as a means of environment-friendly public transportation, should have new concepts achieving harmony between design and technology. Consequently, when designing interior of trains for public transportation, it should aim for user-centered strategies. This approach is essentially applied to vehicle design and inducement to new concepts by design aesthetics and their verification become requirements for train Interior design, which should be equipped with sensitivity and functional images. Accordingly, a study on the correlation between constituents in order to implement design is essential to design planning and realization of strategies.

  • Based on the articulatory phonetic (or organic) principle, the Korean alphabet of 28 letters as invented by King Sejong in 1443 is not only systematic and scientifically oriented but also easy to learn and use in everyday life of the Korean people. The International Korean Phonetic Alphabet was devised by the present writer in 1971 by applying the organic principle much more extensively. Accordingly, the IKPA symbols are just as simple and easy to loam and memorize as the Korean alphabet, and at the same time they are much more consistent and logical than the IPA symbols which, having been derived mainly from Roman and Greek letters, are unsystematic mass of letters except in one respect, i.e., retroflex symbols. This paper describes the organic principles exploited in devising the International Korean Phonetic Alphabet and assesses its advantages.

  • PURPOSES : Safety consciousness can be the first factor to hinder the acceptance of design alternative, which moderates the applied design criteria in order to adapt the road to the natural terrain condition. METHODS : The method which enables to check the safety of design alternative by using design consistency concept is suggested. The method is based on the linked or interactive analysis between terrain and road alignment. Real design example is considered as a guide how to apply the method and the analysis result is discussed with the future research. RESULTS : Suggested method can be used for designers as a tool to review their design outputs can be safe as much as the original design. So, designers have the more objective judgement on their designs and have the confidence on their designs. CONCLUSIONS : The method is expected to be used as a tool to see the safety consciousness in an objective view, so any possible conflicts between designers and design-related personnels caused by the terrain-oriented design can be solved.

  • Generally, the quality of satellite images is expressed by GSD (Ground Sample Distance), MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) and SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio). However, these factors are technology-oriented and do not explain interpretability of satellite images. We need a standardized index which shows standard of interpretability. In this study, we estimated NIIRS (National Imagery Interpretability Rating Scale) through the GIQE (General Image Quality Equation) which is able to judge image interpretability with the standardized index. Traditionally, NIIRS has been determined manually by specialized image analysts. We used the GIQE in order to reduce inefficiency and high costs cause by manual interpretation and to produce accurate NIIRS. For monitoring image degradation, we estimated GIQE physical parameters from image analysis and carried out time series analysis about the quality of the KOMPSAT-1 images. On all of the tests, we were able to identify the image degradation due to the changing time. This indicates that NIIRS derived from GIQE will be used for image degradation indicator.
