Development of a Deterioration Diagnostic Device for ZnO Arrester by Leakage Current Detection (누설전류 검출에 의한 ZnO 피뢰기의 열화진단장치 개발)

  • In this paper, we develope a diagnosis device for ZnO arrester by detecting the leakage current in service. To diagnose the deterioration of ZnO arrester, the device detects the total leakage current which flows between an arrester and ground, and analyzes the resistive current(third harmonic current) which is an indicator of deterioration of ZnO arrester. We use the optical cable which can transfer a detected data without a noise, also use a microprocessor for a data storage, processing, and trend analysis. Experiment are executed to verify its performance in laboratory and the results show that the diagnosis device exactly detects the total leakage current and the resistive current, so it can diagnose the deterioration of ZnO arrester. Also the leakage current of ZnO arrester is detected using the developed diagnostic device in field, these results are presented.

  • This paper deals with a development of the high precise measuring device of resistive leakage current for the deterioration and diagnosis of ZnO arresters. The resistive leakage current increasing with time leads to a thermally unstable state that may even experience a disaster. So, the resistive leakage current can be used as an indicator to discriminate whether the ZnO arrester blocks is in good state or in bad. The resistive leakage current measuring system with an analysis program operated with micro-processor using the time delay addition method was designed and fabricated. The proposed measuring systems for the resistive leakage current can effectively be used to develop the techniques of forecasting the deterioration of ZnO arresters in electric power systems.⨀ᔌ?؀㔳㤮㈻Ԁ䭃䑎䷗ᜒं6〰Ԁ䭃䑎䴀

  • Material corrosion in nuclear power plant (NPP) is not controlled only by amine injection but also by ion exchange (IX) which is the best option to remove trace Na+. This study was conducted to understand the Na+ leakage characteristics of IX beds packed with ethanolamine-form (ETAH-form) and hydrogen-form (H-form) resins in the simulated water-steam cycle in terms of intrinsic behaviors of four kinds of cation-exchange resins through ASTM test and Vanselow mass action modeling. Na+ was inappreciably escaped throughout the channel created in resin layer. Na+ leakage from IX bed was non-linearly raised because of its decreasing selectivity with increasing Na+ capture and with increasing the fraction of ETAH-form resin. Na+ did not reach the breakthrough earlier than ETAH+ and NH4+ due to the increased selectivity of Na+ to the cation-exchange resin (H+ < ETAH+ < NH4+ ≪ Na+) at the feed composition. Na+ leakage from the resin bed filled with small particles was decreased due to the enhanced dynamic IX processes, regardless of its low selectivity. Thus, the particle size is a predominant factor among intrinsic properties of IX resin to reduce Na+ leakage from the condensate polishing plant (CPP) in NPPs.

Efficient of Hepatobiliary Scintigraphy both Decubitus Position in Biliary Leakage Patients (간담도 스캔 시 담즙 누출(Biliary Leakage)환자에서의 양측와위 자세(Both Decubitus Position)의 유용성)

  • Hepatobiliary scintigraphy is very sensitivity of hepatic cell and gallbladder, biliary track atresia and biliary leakage. however, Hepatobiliary scan of biliary leakage diagnosis was separated determine biliary leakage and bowl drainage bile-juice. The object of this study will determine biliary leakage and bowl drainage bile-juice to hepatobiliary scintigraphy both decubitus position in bile leakage patients. Material & Methode: 31 patients (meal 14, Femeal 17), $51.1{\pm}14.4$ years. dynamic scan acquisition 60 farme for 60 minute on supine position. and delay scan was 2 hrs, 4 hrs, 24 hrs for 5 minute on supine, both decubitus position. Both decubitus position scan was kept for 5 minutes. Efficient of Hepatobiliary Scintigraphy both decubitus position in bile leakage patients was compared leakage size, density, image of supine position and both decubitus position. Results: 23 patients for 31 bile leakage patients was checked up function image or delay image, and 8 patients was checked up bile leakage on both decubitus. anatomical leakage location was supine position very well, but both decubitus position was separated bile leakage and moving bile-juice in bowl. also, uptake (counts/pixel) average of roi and bkg was supine 5.02, left decubitus 2.08, right decubitus 2.68. No. pixels of supine ROI counted 1.91 times than left decubitus, 1.05 times than right decubitus. Conclusion: 31 patient both decubitus position, but decubitus position was separated bile juice movement in bowl leakage location. also, It was compared ROI/BKG ratio and ROI No. pixels of supine, both decubitus in 38.5% patients. And No. pixels of supine position was large 19%, 5% than left decubitus, right decubitus, And density was in low 60%, 50% than left decubitus, right decubitus. It was mean bile leakage of ROI. so, If Hepatobiliary Scintigraphy was additional both decubitus position scan in bile leakage patients, this study will be more valuable in diagnosis of bile leakage.

  • In this numerical study, the leakage safety of the LNG tank in which is constructed by membrane inner tank-plywood-polyurethane form-plywood-prestressed concrete structures has been presented for four leakage analysis models. The LNG leak criterion of the tank wall with a storage capacity of $200,000\;m^3$ is analyzed based on the thermal resistance technique. This means that if the cryogenic temperature of a leaked LNG is detected at the outer side of the PC wall, it may be leaked through the wall thickness of the tank. The calculated results based on the thermal resistance method between two walls show that the plywood, PUF, and another plywood walls may block the leakage of the leaked LNG even though the strength of these walls is already collapsed by a leaked LNG pressure. But, the leaked LNG may pass the thickness of the prestressed concrete wall for a period of elapsed time even though the PC outer tank supports the leaked LNG pressure. Thus, the PC outer tank may extend the leakage time of a leaked LNG.

  • Water pipes are laid on the ground, making it impossible to visually detect leaks due to aging of pipes, and technology to detect leaks in pipes is mainly used to detect leaks in pipes by detecting leaks. In this paper, two accelerometers were attached to both ends of the constant water piping to calculate the time difference between the acquired data to detect leakage points. The leak test of piping was performed by installing valves at 4.3m, 8.6m, and 12.9m points on piping 17.2m, and changing the development rate of valves to 30% and 70%. Leakage can be detected for pressure drop in piping, which is 30% and 70% open valve. It is very important to detect leakage in the early stage, and it is judged that detection of the initial leak point from the algorithm applied in this paper will be possible.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an earth leakage alarm circuit breaker, equipped with a leakage alarming function (JER-E2S, ETECKOREA Co., Korea), and to analyze its characteristics. The developed mechanism is exclusively used for single-phase and 220 V circuits, with a rated current of 32 A, 20 A, 20 A (for restrooms), 16 A, etc. It satisfies all characteristics of existing earth leakage circuit breakers (ELB). If a fire current, which is a resistive leakage current (Igr), flows through an electric line, the device detects the leakage current in real time and warns against the leakage through a blinking LED lamp. Since the developed device displays a tolerance to a capacitative leakage current (Igc) that inevitably occurs in LED lamps, communication devices, etc., it ensures a stable power supply. In addition, the earth leakage alarm circuit breaker protects against power failure due to a momentary ground fault. Therefore, it can supply power without the risk of the circuit breaker malfunctioning due to a momentary ground fault caused by water droplets, leaves, etc. Moreover, with a standby power of less than 0.1 W, the developed earth leakage alarm circuit breaker exhibits a power saving performance that is 3~8 times greater than that of other ELBs. Installation of approximately 10 earth leakage alarm circuit breakers in one apartment household, with an area of 120 ㎡, can save 2~5 kWh per month. Therefore, the developed earth leakage alarm breaker not only satisfies the characteristics of existing earth leakage breakers, but also exhibits outstanding power supply quality since it has the functions of electric fire prevention and malfunction prevention. Therefore, this device can innovatively contribute to electric fire prevention.

Effects of Non-uniform Pollution on the AC Flashover Performance of Suspension Insulators

  • The non-uniform distribution of contamination on insulator surface has appreciable effects on flashover voltage, and corresponding researches are valuable for the better selection of outdoor insulation. In this paper, two typical types of porcelain and glass insulators which are widely used in ac lines were taken as the research subjects, and their corrections of AC flashover voltage under non-uniform pollution were studied. Besides, their flashover characteristics under different ratio (T/B) of top to bottom surface salt deposit density (SDD) were investigated, including the analysis of flashover voltage, surface pollution layer conductivity and critical leakage current. Test results gave the modified formulas for predicting flashover voltage of the two samples, which can be directly applied in the transmission line design. Also, the analysis delivered that, the basic reason why the flashover voltage increases with the decrease of T/B, is due to the decrease of equivalent surface conductivity of the whole surface and the decrease of critical leakage current. This research will be of certain value in providing references for outdoor insulation selection, as well as in proposing more information for revealing pollution flashover mechanism.

S-Transform Based Time-Frequency Analysis of Leakage Current Signals of Transmission Line Insulators under Polluted Conditions

  • Flashover of power transmission line insulators due to contamination is a major threat to the reliable operation of power system. This paper deals with the analysis of leakage current characteristics of polymeric insulator using S-Transform technique in order to develop a better diagnostic tool to identify the surface condition of outdoor polymeric insulators. In this work, experiments were carried out on 11 kV silicone rubber insulator under AC voltage at different pollution levels. Moving average technique was adopted to find the trend followed by LC peak at different relative humidity conditions. S-Transform was used to find the relationship between energy and frequency content of the leakage current signal with respect to increase in pollution level over a period of time. From the S-Transform time-frequency contour analysis, point of transition to severe arcing due to increase in pollution and its thershold limit were evaluated. Reported results show that the surface condition of insulators could be easily identified from the S-Transform time-frequency analysis of leakage current signals.

  • This paper deals with optimum design of surface mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) for automotive component. For a compact system structure, it was designed as a motor with a 14-pole 12-slot concentrated winding and hollow shaft. The motor is a thin type structure which stator outer diameter is relatively large compared to its axial length and is designed to have a high magnetic saturation for increasing the torque density. Since the high magnetic saturation in the stator core increases the axial leakage flux, a 3-dimensional (3-D) finite element analysis (FEA) is indispensable for torque analysis. However, optimum designs using 3-D FEA is inefficient in terms of time and cost. Therefore, equivalent 2-D FEA which is able to consider axial leakage flux is applied to the optimization to overcome the disadvantages of 3-D FEA. The structure for cost reduction is proposed and optimum design using equivalent 2-D FEA has been performed.
