혁신경영시스템 국제표준 개발 동향 및 도입 방안에 관한 탐색적 연구 (An Exploratory Study on the Trends and Introductions of Innovation Management System International Standards)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to introduce the development trend of international standard in the innovative management system and propose the application method of the standard for SME certification system. Methods: This study is based on literature studies and case studies considering the initial stage of development of standards as well as lack of domestic and international research examples. In the literature review, we focused on the characteristics of the innovation management system standards at the national, regional and global level. We examined case studies of Spain and Portugal as case studies. Besides, the evaluation items and certification status of domestic innovative SMEs certification were also searched to find out how to introduce them in Korea. Results: The results of this study can be summarized in three major points. First, new international standards of innovation management are being developed under the ISO management system standard and are currently in the DIS stage. Second, in the case of Spain adopting the national innovation management system standard, it has been reported that the innovation management system standard has a significant effect on the innovation ability and management performance. Third, it was not easy to establish a standardized innovation process between the innovation based on creativity and the standardized based product. The Oslo manual was not enough to provide enough guidance in this area. Conclusion: Companies that want to strengthen their organizational innovation capabilities from a management system point of view and Policymakers that want to plan the upgrading and integrated certification operating system of the domestic innovation SME certification need to consider the ISO 50500 series as a global level standard other than the Oslo manual.

  • The corporate R&D(Research and Development) has a primary role of new product development and its potential is the most crucial factor to estimate corporate future value. However, its systemic inadequacies and inefficiencies, the shorten product life-cycle to satisfy customer needs, the global operations by outsourcing strategy, and the reduction of product cost, are starting to expose to R&D business processes. The three-phased execution strategy for R&D innovation is introduced to establish master plan for new R&D model. From information technology point of view, PLM(Product Life-cycle Management) is one of the business total solutions in product development area. It is not a system, but the strategic business approach that collaboratively manage the product from beginning stage to end of life in all business areas PLM functions and capabilities are usually used as references to re-design new R&D process. BPA(Business Process Assessment) and 5DP(Design Parameters) in PI6sigma developed by Samsung SDS Consulting division are introduced to establish R&D master plan and re-design process respectively. This research provides a case study for R&D process innovation. How process assessment and PMM(Process Maturity Model) can be applied in business processes, and also it explains process re-design by 5DP method.

Artificial Intelligence Applications as a Modern Trend to Achieve Organizational Innovation in Jordanian Commercial Banks

  • The objective of this study was to see how artificial intelligence applications affected organizational innovation in Jordanian commercial banks. Both independent and dependent variables were measured in three dimensions: expert systems, neural network systems, and fuzzy logic systems for artificial intelligence applications variable. Product innovation, process innovation, and management innovation for the organizational innovation variable. To achieve study objectives, a questionnaire was developed and distributed to a sample of one hundred fifty-three managers in Jordanian commercial banks, who were selected according to the simple random sampling method. Except for the neural network systems dimension, which comes in at an average level, the study indicated that there is a high level of organizational innovation and artificial intelligence applications. Furthermore, the findings revealed that artificial intelligence applications have a significant impact on organizational innovation in Jordanian commercial banks, with the most important artificial intelligence application being a fuzzy logic system. The study suggested keeping track of technological advancements in the field of artificial intelligence applications and incorporating them into banking operations by benchmarking with the best commercial bank practices and allocating a portion of the budget to technological applications and infrastructure development, as well as balancing between technology use and information security risks to ensure client privacy is protected.

The Mediating Effects of the Process Design Capability and Product Interior Design Capability on the Relationship between SMEs' External Information Network Diversity and Their New Technology Development Capability

  • New technology development capability plays a key role in making small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) increase their innovation performance, such as in product or process innovation. To examine the influencing factors of SMEs' new technology development capability, this study empirically analyzes the mediating effects of SMEs' process design capability and product interior design capability on the positive association between their external information network diversity and new technology development capability. This study performs the ordinary least squares regression on a sample of 2,000 South Korean SMEs. Results reveal that SMEs' process design capability fully mediates, and product interior design capability partially mediates the positive association between the external information network diversity and new technology development capability.

컨버전스 제품의 소비가치 도출을 위한 탐색적 연구 - 로봇제품의 소비가치분석을 중심으로- (A Study on the Impact of Consumption Value on Buying Behavior of Digital Convergence Product)

  • 이 연구는 디지털 컨버전스 제품 구매에 영향을 미치는 소비가치가 무엇인지를 파악하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 컨버전스 제품을 혁신 정도에 따라 연속적 혁신과 단절적 혁신 컨버전스 제품으로 구분한 후, 제품별로 구매 의도와의 관계를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 디지털 컨버전스 제품의 소비가치는 정서적 가치, 진귀적 가치, 사회적 가치, 기능적 가치의 네 가지 소비가치로 구성되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 네 가지 소비가치와 컨버전스 제품의 구매의도간 인과관계를 분석한 결과, 단절 혁신 컨버전스 제품에는 정서적 가치, 진귀적 가치, 기능적 가치가 구매의도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연속적 혁신 컨버전스 제품에는 기능적 가치만 구매의도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 성별, 소득, 학력등의 주요한 인구통계학적 변수는 구매 의도에 영향을 미치지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 디지털 컨버전스의 선택행동은 여러 유형의 소비가치의 함수이고, 여러 유형의 소비가치가 구매의도에 영향을 준다는 것을 시사해 주고 있다. 또한 소비자들에게 익숙하지 않은 혁신적인 컨버전스 제품을 출시할 때는 명확한 가치 중심으로 소구해야 시장에서 성공할 수 있다는 점을 시사해 주고 있다.

신제품 개발과정의 디지털화와 현실반영 정확도 관리에 대한 탐색적 연구 (Exploratory Research on the Fidelity Management and the Digitalization of New Product Development Process)

  • There has been rapid diffusion of digital innovation technology(DIT) such as 3 D CAD, CAE, simulation software which enable firms to see the future results of intended product designs through 3 D diagram and simulated results. This technology helps firms to reduce trial and error process by solving later stage problems in earlier stages. The DIT being the technology reflecting the real world, as a tool representing the simplified form of the real world, the degree of reflecting the real world(fidelity) is important in utilizing the DIT. This study is an exploratory research examining the process of reviewing the fidelity of the DITs and developing the complementary process necessary for utilizing the DIT with 'not good enough' fidelity. This study could draw out, from its case study, an exploratory hypothesis about the process of developing the complementary process. In the process, there is an analysis of the corresponding relationship between the actual data and the output data of the DIT, e.g. simulated result. Then the input data or output data are adjusted on the basis of the analysis of the corresponding relationship so that the discrepancy between the actual data and the expected interpretation of the output data, through the adjustment, of the DIT, can be reduced. This process is sometimes accompanied by the process of generating experimental data, which reflect the unique situation of the product development process of a company, to be put to the data base of DIT. The complementary process is the process requiring knowledge sharing and adjustment activities across different divisions. This study draw outs implications for effective management of the fidelity of DIT tools.

  • User Experience (UX) and Experience Innovation have been emphasized in the process of New Product Development (NPD). However, previous works which were conducted within the theme of UX mostly focused on the fragmentary aspects of user's experience in a specific usage-context only. For this reason, it is always hard to deal with questions on how to define the abstract concept of UX and how to apply this important keyword in actually NPD process both for satisfying potential users and for setting a market strategy. To address this issue, we focused on the fact that UX has an aspect of composition like pattern and structure. It means that we can understand the context of UX with clarifying characteristics of relations between user and experiential objects. Also, we referred to two sub-concepts of Complexity, Density and Centrality, as representative characteristics of relations in usage-context. Based on this theoretical background, we attempted to find UX design principles and concepts for NPD from the actual example cases of products and services in the real market. From these whole study process, we expect that our findings could have implications for academic and practical areas within the theme of Human-Centered Innovation.

신규 제품아키텍처 개발을 위한 기업조직의 설계: PDA 개발에 있어 샤프와 카시오의 개발조직 비교 분석 (Organizational Design for New Product Architecture Development: Comparative Analysis of Sharp and Casio on PDA Development)

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the organizational design and management of product development in creating new product architecture by an established firm. For the purpose, the paper put up the organizational design in the process of PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) development of Sharp and Casio which were Japanese major PDA firms in 1990s. PDA is the product born through architectural change from Electronic Organizer. Prior research on the product architecture change and organizational adaptation emphasized that an established firm is difficult to adapt to new product architecture due to the restriction of prior technology or organizational inertia. For overcoming these problems and successful development of new product architecture, organizational design and management in the process of product development becomes essential. In case of Sharp, corporate development project team had been used to overcome the restrictions from architectural knowledge accumulated through previous product. After launching first new PDA by corporate development project team, Sharp created a new division and pushed an evolution of PDA, when new PDA market start to grow up rapidly toward a major market segmentation. As a result, Sharp was able to build up stable PDA project trajectory. However, Casio was late for three years in launching of new PDA architecture because previous division charging of Electronic Organizer tried to develop first new PDA. Casio's PDA development was prohibited by engineers of previous division because new PDA architecture was inferior on user interface and display definition. That is, Casio's first PDA development was restricted by architectural knowledge of previous product.

생산자동화의 성공요인에 관한 연구: 중소기업에 대한 사례분석 (Success Factors of Factory Automation : A Case Study for Small and Medium sized Companies)

  • Factory automation(FA) is a part of technological innovation to make production process more efficient and it also facilitates technological innovation by accumulating the internalization ability of newly imported technology Introduction of FA, however, does not guarantee the increase of production efficiency and high product quality, moreover, the competitiveness of firm. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship between firm's behavioral characteristics during implementation process of FA and organizational performance, and to find out success factors of FA. Results of the case studies for 4 SME's show that financial stability and the fitness between corporate strategy and the purpose of FA are the necessary conditions for successful implementation of FA. But the organizational restructuring for new manufacturing system, openness of all communication channels, and common mind of employees are also needed to achieve the high degree of performance from FA, especially the benefits of qualitative or organizational level.

  • 131I is a fission product produced in a nuclear reactor by irradiating tellurium dioxide, with a half-life of 8.02 day. The most important and widely used method for making 131I is irradiation using a nuclear reactor and post-irradiation followed by dry distillation. The advantage of the dry distillation process is that the process and the equipment are relatively simple, namely TeO2 (m.p. 750 ℃), which can withstand heating during reactor irradiation. Based on TeO2 irradiation by neutron following the technique of dry distillation was explained for production of 131I on a large scale. A dry distillation followed the radioisotope production operation using the 30 MW GA Siwabessy nuclear reactor to meet national demand. TeO2 targets are 25 and 50 g irradiated for 87-100 h. The resulting 131I activity is 20.29339-368.50335GBq. According to the requirements imposed on the radionuclide purity of the preparation, the contribution of 131I training in the resulting preparation was not less than 99.9 %
