  • Covid-19 calls for minimizing gatherings of people in spaces such as offices. Organizations are encouraging information-sharing activities among employees by using online platform technology. Recently, Organizations are supporting their work using the metaverse. This study confirms the effect of metaverse presence on the intention to share knowledge by forming the intrinsic motivation of the employees and the moderating effect of the individual's digital technological competence. We presented research hypotheses through previous studies such as virtual reality and tested the hypotheses using 309 samples obtained through surveys. As a result, the social, tele, and self presence of the metaverse increased organizational-related intrinsic motivation(organizational identification, value congruence) and had a positive effect on the intention to share knowledge. In addition, digital technological competence moderated the relationship between value congruence and intention to share knowledge. This study suggests the importance of strategies to enhance the presence of metaverse for organizations to increase work productivity by using metaverse and the need to support individual digital competence reinforcement.

  • This study attempted to verify the effect of SBAR-based simulation practice on reporting confidence, communicative competence, nursing competence and debriefing satisfaction of nursing students. This study included 46 students who took the simulation practice course for third-year nursing students at one universities located in one region, The data were collected from October 30 to December 22, 2023 using a self-report questionnaire before and after simulation practice, and is a one group pretest-posttest design study. Data analysis was performed using SPSS/WIN version 26.0 program using frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, Shapiro-Wilk test, and Paired t-test. As a result of the study, the average of the reporting confidence was 5.79±1.47 before the training and 7.13±1.56 after the training, the communicative competence was 3.62±0.44 before the training and the average after the training was 4.34±0.67, the nursing competence was 2.64±0.39 before the training and 3.26±0.51 after the training, and the debriefing satisfaction was 3.57±0.51 before the training and 4.18±0.58 after the training. There was a statistically significant difference in reporting confidence(t=2.84, p=.006), communicative competence(t=-3.28, p=.001), nursing competence(t=-8.16, p<.001), debriefing satisfaction(t=2.72, p<.001) before and after SBAR-based simulation practice. Based on the results of this study, it is thought that communication education using SBAR to nursing students should be systematically carried out from the lower grade curriculum, and it is necessary to strengthen and expand reporting education using SBAR communication in various practice situations as well as simulation practical education to improve nursing competency.

  • The Korean government has been implementing diverse policies with programs to generate better outcomes and results of university-industry collaboration since 1990s. In this paper, we analyze the effect of universities' competency factors on the performance of technology commercialization and start-ups respectively. We employ multiple regression models using 154 data sets from university information posting system of the Korean Council for University Education. Through conducting statistical analyses with diverse data manipulations, we obtained a high degree of significance on hypotheses, and also could compare mutual differences between the effects of university competence on technology commercialization and start-ups. The technology transfer and commercialization specifically depends on professors' patent applications and technology holding company, while start-ups does professionals in industry-university cooperation. We suggest government to spur on the ongoing customization of university-industry collaboration policy, and university to properly cope with global atmosphere changing from ivory tower to academic capitalism and start-ups promotion.

  • This study was to identify underlying dimensions of service encounter quality, to test difference in service encounter quality between interpersonal service(IPS) and self-service technology(SST) and to predict service effectiveness and behavioral intentions in the fashion retail context. A field experimental study was designed for collecting data. Repeat sampling frames were involved in two types of service encounters: interpersonal service and self-service technology within the store environment. Thirty participants served as subjects. Sample represents more females than males, and age was ranged from 20 to 33 years old (Mean=24.2). The result suggested that service encounter quality consisted of competence, dedication, and listening. There was a significant mean difference on listening factor of service encounter quality between IPS and SST. For the interpersonal service, dedication and listening had significant effects on service effectiveness. For the self-service technology, competence and listening had significant effects on service effectiveness. In the IPS condition, the service effectiveness significantly affected the revisit intention, whereas it was not significantly related to the revisit intention in the SST condition. This study discussed managerial implications for fashion retailers seeking to effectively manage service quality by specifying interpersonal service versus self-service technology in the retail environments.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develope a training model and to make a syllabus for electro-technical officers(ETOs) on ship. In order to complete the purpose, firstly we study on qualification for electro-technical officers and also examine the foreign, domestic cases. Secondly, through the STCW convention and the IMO Model Course 7.08, we have compared the standards of competence for officers in charge of an engineering watch and ETO, and analyze the additional standards of competence to acquire the ETO's licenses. Finally, based on the results of this, we will suggest the development of a training model that officers in charge of an engineering watch must complete in order to obtain an ETO's license. This paper is expected to be useful in the educational institution preparing for training course.

  • This study examined the relationship between the demographic profiles of 260 staff nurses in the SPC Health Care Ministry Hospitals and their Transcultural Self-Efficacy (TSE) level on the Cognitive, Practical and Affective dimensions. To obtain the result, among the nine (9) demographic profile items, three (3) common positive predictors were considered, namely, 1) Educational attainment level; 2) Age; and 3) Willingness to work abroad in all three dimensions. While in the Practical and Affective dimensions, the number of years employed were a common negative predictor and in the Affective dimension, Gender of participants was added as the positive predictor. Therefore, there are some significant demographic characteristics of respondents influence to the transcultural self-efficacy. Further, based on the results of this diagnostic study, the researcher designed the One (1) year Cultural Competence Training Program for staff nurses. For future research, the researcher recommended to conduct a further study that will evaluate the effectiveness of the educational intervention by approaching a longitudinal study form administering the test and retest of TSET.
