Image-based traffic information collection systems have entered widespread adoption and use in many countries since these systems are not only capable of replacing existing loop-based detectors which have limitations in management and administration, but are also capable of providing and managing a wide variety of traffic related information. In addition, these systems are expanding rapidly in terms of purpose and scope of use. Currently, the utilization of image processing technology in the field of traffic accident management is limited to installing surveillance cameras on locations where traffic accidents are expected to occur and digitalizing of recorded data. Accurately recording the sequence of situations around a traffic accident in a signal intersection and then objectively and clearly analyzing how such accident occurred is more urgent and important than anything else in resolving a traffic accident. Therefore, in this research, we intend to present a technology capable of overcoming problems in which advanced existing technologies exhibited limitations in handling real-time due to large data capacity such as object separation of vehicles and tracking, which pose difficulties due to environmental diversities and changes at a signal intersection with complex traffic situations, as pointed out by many past researches while presenting and implementing an active and environmentally adaptive methodology capable of effectively reducing false detection situations which frequently occur even with the Gaussian complex model analytical method which has been considered the best among well-known environmental obstacle reduction methods. To prove that the technology developed by this research has performance advantage over existing automatic traffic accident recording systems, a test was performed by entering image data from an actually operating crossroad online in real-time. The test results were compared with the performance of other existing technologies.
Purposes: Prompt evaluation of routes and contact tracing are very important for epidemiological investigations of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). To ensure better adoption of contact tracing apps, it is necessary to understand users' expectations, preferences, and concerns. This study aimed to identify main reasons why people use the apps, appropriate services, and basis for voluntary app services that can improve app participation rates and data sharing. Methodology/Approach: This study conducted an online survey from November 11 to December 6, 2020, and received a total of 1,048 survey responses. This study analyzed the questionnaire survey findings of 883 respondents in areas with many confirmed cases of COVID-19. This study used a multiple regression analysis. Findings: Respondents who had experience of using related apps showed a high intention to use contact-tracing apps. Participants wished for the contact tracking apps to be provided by the government or public health centers (74%) and preferred free apps (93.88%). The factors affecting the participants' intention to use these apps were their preventive value, performance expectancy, perceived risk, facilitative ability, and effort expectancy. The results highlighted the need to ensure voluntary participation to address participants' concerns regarding privacy protection and personal information exposure. Practical Implications: The results can be used to accurately identify user needs and appropriate services and thereby improve the development of contact tracking apps. The findings provide the basis for voluntary app that can enhance app participation rates and data sharing. The results will also serve as the basis for developing trusted apps that can facilitate epidemiological investigations.
When considering the introduction of a new technology, it is important to accurately grasp and selectively apply the technical characteristics related to the technology in order to fully utilize the advantages of the technology. In this study, the technical characteristics of high relative importance were analyzed in order to increase the efficiency of new application of blockchain technology by companies. The technical characteristics of the blockchain identified through previous research were reclassified from the perspective of the system hierarchy, and sub-factors of the technical characteristics were derived. In addition, a questionnaire survey on the relative importance of technical characteristics was conducted for internal experts and SI experts using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique. As a result of the analysis, respondents evaluated data protection as the most important factor in the threat of hacking related to security. In addition, it was different that the comparison results of the importance of the technical characteristics between the experts in the company and the SI experts and the priority of the technical characteristics between the expert groups by industry. It is expected that the results of this study will be usefully utilized when using blockchain technology in enterprises in line with the upcoming changes of the 4th industrial revolution. An empirical analysis of the internal and external factors required for adoption of blockchain technology by industry and the effect of technology introduction will be a meaningful study.
It is important for the people in the 3D printing industry to determine which factors influence the decision-making that determine the adoption of 3D printers and the role of the factors. Through this, we intend to find ways to contribute to the development of 3D printing industry in Korea by increasing utilization of 3D printer used in domestic companies and increasing investment in related industries. 3D printers are making rapid progress according to the development of technology, the public interest, and the activation of investment. Foreign countries have made remarkable progress in equipment, materials, software, and industrial applications, but they are lower than expected in Korea. It is necessary to introduce a smooth 3D printer in order to revitalize the 3D printer industry and enlarge the base, but it is insufficient for actual introduction and field application. The independent variables that represent economic, technological, and environmental characteristics were selected through a literature survey, and a model for accepting integrated technology for convergence of societies in the 3D printing industry was proposed. This study confirms that economic factors such as output unit price, government support, and environmental factors such as 3D contents should be developed organically for the introduction of 3D printing technology and equipment. This require systematic and effective support from the government, and it is necessary to improve the economic support, related laws, and systems that can be directly experienced by the user as a user. As the domestic 3D printing industry develops with economic, technological and time investment, 3D printing industry should be the key engine of the 4th industrial revolution.
The purpose of this study is to identify acceptance factors and influencing factors of respondents' adoption of smart IoT technology to companion animal health based on the integrated technology acceptance model. Based on the previous studies, we constructed the hypotheses by defining the technical factors, social factors, control variables, and mediating variables (UTAUT), and set the hypotheses between the independent variables of each factor and the dependent intention. A research model was designed to verify the relationship between variables. We developed questionnaires on the items and verified them through data collected from 494 people. As a result, product design, quality of service, product performance, and quality service of technological factors had a significant effects on performance expectancy and effort expectancy. However, product safety, product function awareness, and product price did not significantly affect performance expectancy and effort expectancy. Social influence had significant effects on cognitive effect, welfare system, and welfare facilities. In conclusion, the comparative analysis of technical factors and social factors showed that social factors have more significant effects on welfare systems and facilities.

It has been estimated that the equivalent of approximately $US 50 billion has been spent on research on the behavior and fate of pesticides in the environment since Rachel Carson published “Silent Spring” in 1962. Much of the resulting knowledge has been summarized explicitly in computer algorithms in a variety of empirical, deterministic, and probabilistic simulation models. These models describe and predict the transport, degradation and resultant concentrations of pesticides in various compartments of the environment during and after application. In many cases the known errors of model predictions are large. For this reason they are typically designed to be “conservative”, i.e., err on the side of over-prediction of concentrations in order to err on the side of safety. These predictions are then compared with toxicity data, from tests of the pesticide on a series of standard representative biota, including terrestrial and aquatic indicator species and higher animals (e.g., wildlife and humans). The models' predictions are good enough in some cases to provide screening of those compounds which are very unlikely to do harm, and to indicate those compounds which must be investigated further. If further investigation is indicated a more detailed (and therefore more complicated) model may be employed to give a better estimate, or field experiments may be required. A model may be used to explore “what if” questions leading to possible alternative pesticide usage patterns which give lower potential environmental concentrations and allowable exposures. We are currently at a maturing stage in this research where the knowledge base of pesticide behavior in the environmental is growing more slowly than in the past. However, innovative uses are being made of the explosion in available computer technology to use models to take ever more advantage of the knowledge we have. In this presentation, current developments in the state of the art as practiced in North America and Europe will be presented. Specifically, we will look at the efforts of the ‘Focus’ consortium in the European Union, and the ‘EMWG’ consortium in North America. These groups have been innovative in developing a process and mechanisms for discussion amongst academic, agriculture, industry and regulatory scientists, for consensus adoption of research advances into risk management methodology.
New breeding method by genetic engineering is expected as a key technology to solve food shortage due to the growing world population in the year 2000s. Many genetically modified organisms (GMOs) were already developed and the commercial cultivation had started. The first GMO, Flavr Savr tomato, which rotted at a much slower pace than ordinary ones, was developed in US in 1994. Since then, over than 70 different agricultural products including corn, cotton, soybean, papaya, potato, and squash made with genetically modified plants are reportedly on sale worldwide. Supporters favor the GMOs because they have greater yields, longer shelf lives and stronger resistance to disease and insects. On the other hand, opponents say that the supporters ignore a potential danger that they may damage the environment as well as human beings. To assure the safe development and use of GMOs as food and other biotech products, the possible risks on biological environment and human health should be throughly examined and regulated by developer and government. Because the biosafety problem is a global, environmental, and trade issue, a new international treaty is under development. The Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety was adopted at the 1 st Extraordinary Conference of Parties of the Convention on Biological Diversity which was held at Mont-real, Canada, Jan. 29th, 2000. The adoption of the Protocol is seen as a breakthrough in that it is based on the" Precautionary Principle" despite scientific uncertainties surrounding potential risks that GMOs may inflict on human health and the environment and that it has laid the ground for introduction of specific steps to handle international trading of GMOs. In this paper, the authors would like to introduce the current status and perspective of environmental and human risk assessment of GMOs.t of GMOs.

The MSIP has implemented "Act on The Development of Cloud Computing and Protection of Its Users" from September 2015 and invigorated the cloud service industry. The act mainly includes the improvement cloud computing reliability and user protection for the development foundation and use activation. In order to expand the cloud market, it is important to increase the reliability of individual users. However, practical discussions and approach for cloud services adoption are still limited. In fact, there is no agreement standard for domestic cloud services. As a user agreement is not standardized, users feel difficulty compare to each agreement of cloud service provider and may be damaged because of unfair terms. Thus, it is necessary to examine the unfairness of cloud service agreement for user protection. This study analyzes domestic and foreign cloud service agreements including Practical Guide to Cloud Service Agreement of Cloud Standards Customer Council and suggests the direction of the standard agreement of cloud services.
More than 70% of Korea consists of mountainous area and during the construction of roads and railroads many cut-slopes are inevitably formed. A number of environmental factors, such as the rainy season and frost heave during winter/thaw during spring, can result in rock falls and landslides. The failure of slopes is increasing every year and can cause damage to vehicles, personal injury and even fatality. In order to help protect people and property, there is a need for real-time monitoring systems to detect the early stages of slope failures. In this respect, the GMG has been using Translation Rotation Settlement (TRS) sensor units installed on slopes to monitor movement in real-time. However, the data lines of this system are vulnerable and the whole system can be damaged by a single lightning strike. In order to overcome this, GMG have proposed the use of Ubiquitous Sensor Networks (USN). The adoption of a USN system in lieu of data cables can help to minimize the risk of lightning damage and improve the reliability of slope monitoring systems.
Globally, cloud service is a core infrastructure that improves industrial productivity and accelerates innovation through convergence and integration with various industries, and it is expected to continuously expand the market size and spread to all industries. In particular, due to the global pandemic caused by COVID-19, the introduction of cloud services was an opportunity to be recognized as a core infrastructure to cope with the untact era. However, it is still at the preliminary stage for market expansion of cloud service in Korea. This paper aims to empirically analyze how cloud services can be accepted by users by each industry through extended Technology Acceptance Model(TAM), and what factors influence the acceptance and avoidance of cloud services to users. For this purpose, the impact and factors on the acceptance intention of cloud services were analyzed through the hypothesis test through the proposed extended technology acceptance model. The industrial sector selected four industrial sectors of education, finance, manufacturing and health care and derived factors by examining the parameters of TAM, key characteristics of the cloud and other factors. As a result of the empirical analysis, differences were found in the factors that influence the intention to accept cloud services for each of the four industry sectors, which means that there is a difference in perception of the introduction or use of cloud services by industry sector. Eventually it is expected that this study will not only help to understand the intention of using cloud services by industry, but also help cloud service providers expand and provide cloud services to each industry.
